Skipping daily scheduled feeding bug.

When skipping the daily scheduled feeding from the main page the schedule should continue as normal you would think the following day. This is not the case, if a daily feeding is toggled off it doesn't toggle back the next day despite showing toggled on in the scheduling page.

Useful product

I use this for my cats to keep them from waking me, and to feed them again while I’m at work. Watching them eat is amusing. It took a while to teach one cat but the other figured it out immediately. Not five stars because my cats are now addicted to the thing and wait by it all day long, scratching at it for more food.

Repeated app issue

The app repeatedly states network error, please retry. Try to sign in on the site and says can’t sign in. Reset password and it says on your site reset failure. Seems like a pretty serious issue. My network is good so only option is your network. Can’t feed my cat, can’t fix it, back to manual feeding. Why did I buy this if the app failure impairs the use of my feeder.

This feeder is helping to save my cats life.

We adopted the cat that was severely overweight at 25 pounds. The previous owner would feed him table scraps and had a feeder that did not regulate his serving amount. With the help of this feeder and some other things, we are able to get his weight down to 17 1/2 pounds so far, and he has become a lot more active. One of the convenient things about the feeder is that it measures the food amount into 1/24s of a cup Which has allowed us to dial in the amount of food that he should have per day and set convenient feeding times for all of us. He will typically start bugging us for food somewhere around 5 o’clock in the morning. I set the feeding times with the feeder at 5 AM and 6 PM and we’ve gotten much better sleep ever since. When we are away for extended periods of time, I can use the app to make sure that the feeder is working. The feeder lets me know when the food is low and I can check the amount of charge that is left on the machine. I’ve had the feeder for over a month and only recharged it once and that was only because I just wanted to make sure it was fully charged before we took off for an extended weekend at that point it was at 85% charge. so far, so good I would and have highly recommended this feeder to friends.

Often have network issues

The app is good overall, but I often get “network error” messages where I’m unable to do anything in the app. It happens many different locations, and it’s always when I have clear WiFi + network connectivity and other apps are working. Hoping they’re able to fix this bug soon.

Network error.

I had bought the water fountain a few days before the feeder and everything was working great, The UI to the app was seamless and was loving the information I was getting from my cat drinking from it. I then bought the granary feeder and did all of the set ups correctly, got it connected and then about 15 minutes later the whole app completely crashed and nothing will connect, it won’t even let me sign in because of the network error.

Constant “network error”

Every other day there’s a “network error” with the app and it doesn’t let me feed my pets, which is getting to be extremely frustrating. It won’t load my feeding schedule, it disconnects from the feeder, and the “feed now” option won’t work. Then other days it’s completely fine. The app’s stability is shaky.

Not getting notifications

Pretty sure I’m not consistently getting iOS system notifications for inconsequential little things like my feeder or fountain running dry.

But I can’t tell for sure because this genius-level app deletes all its iOS system notifications whenever you open it—seemingly whether you read them in app or not. So by the time I see an irregularity in app and go back to check if I should’ve seen a system notification, they’re all gone.

I’m really coming to dislike this platform. It mostly works but there are just so many little weirdnesses and irregularities that it’s very hard to trust with the life of my pet.

Today I found out he’s been out of water since at least this morning. Did the app even try to tell me that? If so, when? Who knows, because by the time I even saw the issue logged in the app all the notifications were deleted.

It’s just common sense that you shouldn’t clear critical notifications simply by launching the app (which could be for an unrelated reason or even by mistake by fumbling the app switcher) but common sense is exactly what’s missing with PETLIBRO’s platform. It feels like there’s minimal thought put into the idea this is a life or death application for a pet.

Beware if you plan on buying one of these devices. The recent app updates are constantly showing ads you have to dismiss in order to use the app. You cannot disable them. All the defaults are set to features you have to pay for. I wouldn’t buy this product again given how difficult this makes using their products.

Slow, Timing Out

I really enjoyed this app at the beginning, and over the past month or two, it has been slow and doesn’t load videos. I use an SD card with plenty of memory space, so it’s not an issue with the card memory. I can be on wifi and/or data with good service and the app will still time out and say the query was too long.

Schedule Issue

I love the actual feeder. However, when setting up the schedule in the app, it doesn’t automatically keep the schedule for the following day. Everyday I must “turn on” the times I’ve listed in my schedule, otherwise it will not feed my cat. The point of setting a schedule and having an automatic feeder is so I won’t have do it manually. Please fix the schedule to save daily and feed my cat without me having to set it each day.

Absolutely best fountains ever purchased to date. I have had several different fountains for my three cats and they would always break or super hard to clean and would just throw away. Finally broke down and purchased two of these fountains. Best decision ever and will never go back to using any other brand fountain ever again.

We have two cats. I was a little concerned about it working well two cats. I also had heard with other automatic litter units that the cats certainly didn’t like them but this one having an open top has worked tremendously I would recommend this to anyone. Great unit.

So I had a feeder for about 2 years. I had no issues with it or the app. I got a new cat, and we purchased a new feeder for her. It is incredible that I can’t connect the new feeder to the old app. I need 2 apps to have both feeders working, just why? This feeding system is phenomenal. And everything can be controlled via the App! You even have a camera to see the cats as they enjoy their food. Recommend this for anyone who wants ants to keep the food fresh and manage the amount dispensed.

The hardware is best in class.

The software - eh, it’s okay.

The water consumption data is accurate, which is what’s essential. The notification setting options and UI leave much to be desired. That said, I really only care about water refill and device cleaning/filter replacement notifications.

Updated Review: Works Better Now that I found the setting the updates changed

I bought the Granary Feeder with the Camera in January and it has worked really well for the first few months. Yes the ad pop up is annoying but whatever. It’s a free app.

We went on a 10 day vacation and were able to log in and see our kitties from far away and it was great!

About 2 weeks ago the firmware updated and apparently it turned off the Repeat on my cat feeder schedule. My cats missed a feeding time but they made sure I knew it didn’t dispense on schedule. (Not the app). I tried going to support through the link in the App Store, but the chat bot was not helpful at all and wouldn’t provide prompts that were related to my problem and I couldn’t type my own question. Today, I was going through all the settings again and finally noticed the repeat settings turned off.

Now that I know to check that I can keep an eye on it. The feeder and all work fine outside this one hiccup. But I do hope they improve that in future firmware releases.

Constantly shows ad

I don’t normally leave reviews but I’m ticked off enough to do so. I bought this feeder which requires use of this app. I did not sign up to be advertised to *every* time I open my app. The advertisement? To set up subtractive and save when the food runs low. And then I have to hit ‘x’ to dismiss it but sometimes it glitches and I’m sitting there trying to tap it off when all I want to do is feed my dogs. And I don’t see how to turn this off. Makes me want to throw the whole thing out.

Love and dislike

Honestly the concept is spot on. And for a good amount of time is on point. But it does have flaws. My house is asleep and my cat js beside me but it just told me .10oz just left the fountain. It does this often where I can tell when my cat has drank vs when the system is doing something weird. I clean it and change the filters regularly and have tried to recalibrate it as well. My app is up to date. But it just does this at least once if not more a day. Really skews the accuracy.

Too many Alexa ads

The app works fine once you close all the popups for Amazon Alexa. I don’t get my supplies for Amazon so I don’t want to hook them to Alexa but I can’t use the app without seeing NEVER RUN OUT OF FOOD AGAIN!!! Popups every time. Should be a way to turn that off. Is there a “I hate Alexa” checkmark somewhere I missed?

Assumes only letters and numbers in your WiFi AP name

Setup was going fine until I had to put in my WiFi access point name. I have a hyphen in mine but the App restricts the keyboard to letters and numbers. I was able to cut and paste the name…but then it was overwritten with the name of the AP the phone was connected to if I left the app for my password manager and came back (I put my IoT devices on a separate network so that was not the name I wanted). So I had to cut and paste the SSID, then pull up my password manager on another device and type in the password manually.

Function fine, Incorrect Portioning

This app works fine, pretty smoothly actually. My biggest concern is how it severely over estimates and feeds my cat. I have a small kitten who weighs like 3-5 lbs of even and when I put 1/24th a cup which it “says” would be around 5 grams there is so much food!!! I don’t know how to fix this problem and i’m confused if I can but i’m going to stretch out how long he has the food in his bowl for even though i’m confused on if there is a better device than this that’s more accurate??

Awful

I came back to update my review and say this has gotten even worse. Device constantly fails calibration. Even when it is calibrated I don’t get notifications of water level or filters, despite all notifications being on in the app and iOS. Random disconnects, constant problems. About to throw this thing out and try another brand. Don’t bother with this crap.

Water tracking doesn’t work too well

I bought this water fountain because of its ability to track how much water my cats drink throughout the day. Sounds great…until you realize that feature doesn’t work too well. I have witnessed my cats drink water many times, I log in to the app to see how much water they drank, and the amount never appears. Even hours later. The average water intake it tracks is 1-3 ounces of water in a 24 hour period for TWO CATS! It’s a great idea but it definitely needs work. Overall, the aesthetic appearance is nice, easy to clean, and my cats do like the flow spout.

Easy setup but why does it need full access to photos

4 stars for easy setup, easy to use, lots of features. I especially like the timeline that helps me use videos stored on the SD card.

Minus one star for the app photos permissions. I’ve given the app “limited access” to my phones photos which should allow the app to add to my photo library. However the app insists on having unlimited access. I don’t want the app Reading my entire photo library, I only want it to add to it. Why?

The App Though

The actual machine is fantastic. It’s the app that is a bit annoying. I love getting the notifications as it lets me know when my fur kid is being fed and if there were any issues. My problem is that the app (after reading and deleting the messages) still shows there are unread notifications present. I’ll read em and yeet em but the notification won’t go away. If you could fix that I would gladly throw up 5 stars. Engineering: Good. Software Devs: Bad

App issues despite update

Unfortunately app is still buggy and doesn’t connect consistently. Some feedings get skipped without any notice of device failure or attempt to feed. Video works 80% of the time, usually only works when the animal aren’t eating in front of camera which contradicts the reason I purchased the camera feeder, video reloads once animals are done. Takes 2-3 attempts for manual feeding to actually deposit food. Please continue working on the configuration.

6 months review

So far I don’t have any issues and I can’t. Honestly say it’s a decent feeder. I didn’t get the camera one, but I find the app the be a bit cumbersome to navigate and I’m not sure I’d enjoy that anyway.

However , the notifications for feed times, low hopper, clogged hopper ect are all helpful and timely. The hopper is clogged easily if you over fill if but it’s also not “clogged “=“broken”.

I’ve learned I can get this notification if there are 4-5 pieces of kibble sitting in the halfway point above the bowl.

This is a design request aside and would love to see it some day but I’d love if the bowls could be on opposite sides of hopper for two cats so they don’t shove and bump each other.

My cats don’t eat at same time, but if they wanted too we’d have to separate the bowls so they don’t fight. But we travel so often this is best way for now so we use this feeder to help them when we are gone and have sitter.

Check you measurements

I had to do a bit of adjusting to get the amount of the food correct. For example, I feed 1/2 cup food. That is 6/12ths of a cup. That kept blocking the system so I started doing measuring. Turns out that 1/2 c is really 3/12ths of a cup. My little guy tends to over eat so it’s very important that I don’t over feed him. Otherwise, I really like it.

PETLIBRO automatic cat feeder with camera

It works great, with one annoyance. I purchased one at the beginning of the month and liked it so much I purchased a second one a week later. The one annoyance is that the app to control it for one doesn’t work on the second one. The second one uses a diff app, PETLIBRO and PETLIBRO LITE. So I have to go into a different app to control it! Took me a while to figure that out, frustrating. I kept trying to get them both to work on one app, thinking I was doing something wrong, before realizing there were two different apps. Other than that it has worked well.

APP FAILED TO NOTIFY ME 🤬

Since the new version of firmware came out my app doesn’t notify me about her feeding schedule so I had no way of knowing whether the food was dispensed when it was scheduled to. Just tried manual feed from the app: “timed out” and didn’t drop food!! Thankfully I am home so I can give her food but what if I had been away and was unable to feed my cat!! THE APP DIDNT EVEN NOTIFY ME THAT IT WASNT LOGGING FEEDINGS. I feel helpless and outraged thinking about the process of trying to contact customer service and fix this. I wonder if anyone else has this issue. Has anyone sued this company?

I’m not sure why the hate…it works great! I mean, I had issues downloading on my iPhone, but got on my iPad and works great! I had a more generic self-water that was really noisy, this is so super quiet and I love how the app tells you when to change filter. I took 1 star because I will say the app isn’t 100% user friendly, but overall a good app!

Ridiculous Software Solution

Old feeder cannot be paired to new App. New water foundation cannot be paired to old App. I highly suggest to fire your product tean leader due to this guy has no brain and doesn't know how to keep customer. Guess if I will choose Petlibro when I buy my next pet auto device?

Pretty good. Needs some features.

The feeder and the app are quite good. Feature needed - I feed my dogs using the app, not on a schedule. So I'd like the app to remember the last portion I used to feed manually. Right now I have to select the portion every time I feed. Also I am not sure what is the use of entering dog information on the app? Doesn't look like the app used the information for anything.

Disappointed

I bought the PETLIBRO granary feeder last year and it’s supposed to be one of the supported models for this app, but apparently my serial number is not supported by this app, which makes no sense why there even needs to be two apps. My feeder is less than a year old and I’m being told I need to pay $40 to physically replace the base to get the new chipset in order to use the new app? That feels very wasteful and is a terrible customer experience, especially as a water fountain user. I really like the products, but the choice to randomly select a group of users that are firewalled off from the new experience because we bought the right pet feeder, but got shipped the older chipset seems like a really poor business strategy to keep customers on-term.

This is great!

I’m not sure why this app has so many low reviews… I’m new to this brand, but as a responsible consumer, I did my research and bought the right model, use the right app, and so far after the first few days me and my two kitties are having a great time. It was easy to set up, works as expected, and the quality of everything is really nice. I really appreciate the scheduling functionalities, the log, and the camera is really cool too. Looking forward to probably buying the water fountain to go with it at some point soon!

Decent app but needs a couple fixes

The app in general is decent, at least when using it with the granary feeder. The portion sizes however are completely inaccurate. What the app states as 1/12 of a cup is actually around 1/8 of a cup. This is the same as the portion size on other PETLIBRO feeders so I assume the amounts just need to be changed in the app and then portion sizing would work properly.

Two Different Apps Required

Just got another Petlibro product hoping to bring both devices into the same app instead of spread among other brands apps. Come to find out I now need both Petlibro Lite and this Petlibro app… for the same feeders. Unable to add previous feeder to Petlibro, so both are needed to monitor status now. Adding devices and updating device settings has always been a struggle with this brand. I hope they are considering updating the app to let previous Petlibro Lite devices be added.

PETLIBRO doesn’t connect

This app simply does not work. I tried to connect my new cat feeder 3 different way and it would not recognize it no matter what I did. In looking through forums, I’m not the only one having this issue. Tons of people were having the same problem. My only solution was to download the light version which finally connected and allowed me to set up the unit. You would think that the more complete version would work better. But that is not the case.

DISAPPOINTED 🙄

Guys I only rate this a 3 out of 5 because to be honest the fountains are perfect, no fixes, and automatically turn on perfectly😍 but the thing is that well😅 the food dispenser still works 🥰 BUT man when I went to school it DIDN'T feed my amazing and healthy cats😢which it also 🙄 it said that there's 12 meals for them😨 so I freaked out because I thought it ment they ate 12 meals😡this may need a PROPER fix😶 should I retire it and give them real heaven😶because the fact it holds SO MUCH food is so good because I have a kitten to raise and 2 grown cats too so 😳that point is good cause that makes me love it🥰 should I return this to save my furry friends😍?

Constant “Network Error, Please Retry” Notice

After moving cities, I was able to re-setup my Dockstream Fountain, but now every time I select the device via the app, upon tapping it, I receive a “Network Error. Please try.” note EVERY TIME. I have removed the fountain from my app, completely removed the app from my phone, re-installed, and re-synced, only to have the error re-occur. Prior to moving, I loved the water consumption notifications and low water/filter reminders, but every single feature I loved about this fountain no longer works/notifies me properly. I was going to get a second one for the house, but I will be tossing this for two other ones from a competitor.

Love the App

I think this app is great. I've had no issues with the app or the feeder. The app is intuitive and always works. I have no complaints. I love checking on my furbaby when I'm away from home. I'm very thankful for this product and to the app developers.

Horrible

Please read before considering this product. The app is slick and well visually designed but functionally like missing key offerings like sharing the device with other people, giving modals to update firmware every time I go to feed and then firmware fails every time to update, if it gets disconnected from Wi-Fi the only fix I found was resetting the device, unbinding it from my account and app, deleting the app, reinstalling the app and setting up Wi-Fi within 20 inches of the router and my phone… after going through all the steps in the app… which worked but then I had to unplug and bring it back to where I used to have it and was working fine and now cannot connect to Wi-Fi.

This is shoddy work, buggy, deceiving. Unreliable. There are other feeders like the one I replaced with this that provide solid functionality, are reliable and do the basic things expected from both the product and the app. I should never have replaced what I had in the first place but these look so good. Don’t be fooled with appearances.

I’ve had nothing but issues with this app and device and if you go into on social (like Reddit), check out what people are saying.

App isn’t great but water bowl is good

Currently water bowl is as full as physically possible yet my app is telling me it’s less than half full 🤦🏻‍♀️ I get notifications all day every day (every two hours) saying her water is extremely low yet it’s not even half empty. And while I like it letting me know when she supposedly drinks, I’ve gotten multiple notifications that she’s drinking when in reality she’s been asleep on my lap.

The bowl itself is fantastic though. Best auto-water bowl we’ve ever had.

Rating for app not the fountain

First off the fountain itself is great… I love not having to deal with a wire while cleaning and refilling it. The app was easy to install and connect to the device. My issue with it is that it registered my cat drinking two times while I was just filling it up. Literally my cat hadn’t even discovered the fountain yet and no water should have been used. I figured maybe me working with it triggered the detection mechanism somehow…. My hope is that from here on the cats intake will be more accurately measured now that I’m done filling it. There’s no way to delete the false readings which would have been nice. My fear is that anyone walking by the fountain will trigger the sensor. I plan to set a camera on it to verify how accurate the logs are and will revise this review based on that data.

App is frustrating

I like the system and the way it looks but the app leaves a lot to be desired. Why can’t I clear notifications so that every time I log in I don’t see the red dots from alerts that are from April and May. Calibrating seems to be working better and now shows 100% when I clean it and fill it up but unless I go into every notification to clear the red dot (and there are 100s over the course of a month), then it continues to show an “alert” with a red dot. You should be able to delete them or mark them all at once as viewed. I don’t need to keep notifications from May. Once they work on the app more and get it up to speed with typical apps, it will be a great product but now it’s just gimmicky and not that useful. I’ve also considered getting the feeder but it requires a separate app. Why can’t all products be integrated in one app? Until that happens, I’m not going to spend a bunch of money of the feeder.

Love it!!

I’ve noticed a lot of negative comments about the device(s) but most of them seem like personal negatives and don’t really have anything to do with the actual device and application— is it a nuisance to have two different apps yes but it’s not the end of the world I have used the Lite for my feeder and this app for dockstream have no issues with either application— setting up a schedule and viewing camera is a hit— notifications are spot on— recently had one issue with connectivity but sent an email to support and they fixed the system error right away— totally recommend applications and devices from this company— especially if you are someone who is on the road alot or works away from home extra security to make sure your cat is fed and have plenty of water

The worst IOT experience I’ve EVER had.

Not only does the Space Feeder loose WI-FI connectivity after it updates firmware, it’s such a struggle to connect it back up again. When it was working, for about 3 days, This app is completely inaccurate, when programmed to feed at 7pm, the app clearly states in the log that it fed the programmed amount AND it vaccumed out the air. It did neither at 7pm. It ended up do it at 9pm! And it didn’t register it in the app!

Easily the worst IOT App and Device I’ve ever experienced.

Unable to add device

My dockstream device disconnected from my WiFi so I attempted to reconnect it, but no luck. So I removed it and tried to add it back again and it keeps saying failed to add the device. I’ve tried everything from moving the device closer to the WiFi router, adding it via hot spot and Bluetooth but no luck. I’ve had no problems adding it before when I first got it so this is really frustrating and I can’t seem to figure out what the problem is.

Works with my Dockstream!

I'm surprised by all of the negative reviews. I was hesitant to use the app at first, but it has worked for me without a single issue! Initial setup/ calibration was easy, and it's been running for a week without giving any inaccurate information (I work from home, so I see when my cat takes a drink, then wait for the notification to ping). Of course, the amounts could be off- I'd have no way of knowing if they were, but based on the time my cat spends at the fountain, and comparing day-to-day totals, it seems right. I'm very pleased with this app!

Needs a lot of work

Can I give this app NEGATIVE STARS. Every single notification is wrong. It is literally a worthless piece of junk.

- Many words are misspelled and many notifications are not correctly formatted in sentence structure for English. - Need ability to name each device so that the user can determine which water fountain is being used, etc when more than one is owned. - need ability to add the number of pets using the water fountain so that notifications and actual usage can be tracked more efficiently. - editing review to reduce rating to one star. The notifications about how much water the pet is drinking are HIGHLY inaccurate. I put cameras on both water fountains and even when the pets were not drinking any water at all, I was continuously receiving alerts that they were drinking water. Nothing touched the fountains, yet I was still receiving alerts that 2-30ml were being consumed at a time, that water has been refill when it hasn’t been touched and that the tank is separated from the base or empty…again none of these are accurate as I have a camera on both fountains.

Restricting input characters for my networks WiFi

The app will not allow you to type in spaces for my own networks WiFi password. I’ve never had this problem in any other app. Why would you have restrictions? Well, the response I received from submitting a help ticket was that it was to “ensure the security of our APP use”. Mind you, this is MY network password, nothing to do with the app. My password would take 24 years to crack, without the spaces, 41 minutes.

In addition to that, it doesn’t allow non alphanumeric characters for your WiFi network name unless I paste it in.

The issues make the app worthless since I can’t connect to any of the products.
