This is the best game ever and I play it to an unhealthy amount. The only thing I don’t like is how hard it is to get the water glasses when you need to make the orange soda and stuff like that.

But other wise if someone is looking to get this app or not, totally get this app! It has awesome graphics, let’s you make, design, and grow your cafe or at least grow out of the cafe room. Even though some times there are things that I wish I didn’t see I still love the story and the game.

You have to have money to spend on gems to enjoy the game. Can’t save and load progress. The notification does not work. Not enough energy, and it takes too long to regenerate . Takes long to merge; machines take long to regenerate also . Not enough space; gems are too expensive and don’t earn enough often to get more space . 180, or 144 coins for only 10 extra points that sometimes doesn’t even add up all the time to level up (points remain stagnant) . Free videos have become so long, and hard to X (close) out of. In addition, it will freeze, you won’t earn your reward and may sometime have to rewatch another long ad.

The games are fun but they don’t last long enough for you to actually play them. The people I’m always playing customer clash with are playing when I sleep, so I never win and that takes all the fun out of it. Then there’s the other games…why are you asking for more than we can possibly do? You want us to fill orders, that can take a week or longer to make, in only 1-2 days. That’s impossible with your wait times to refill and even then we have to hope we are given the item we need. Like, I’m trying to get dice but the bookshelf is only giving me papers. It’ll do this 3-4 times and then spit out 1. Either give more time or more items. It isn’t fun filling orders that take over a week to make. This game keeps me entertained for a while and you don’t have to spend money on it (although I have; if I really like a game I’m take up the specials they have). My only request is this: could you please for the love of God, stop having 500 pop ups when trying to get to the game? I understand that I “lost the race” or I got “5th place” and I “can try again”… No need to spend 10 min worth of pop ups to tell me. I try to click the clip board and I’ll automatically spend 10 min letting me know about upcoming events, if I lost a race, social deals etc. I’m like OMG come on!!! I click the X button 24 times it seems before I get to my actual game. That’s annoying!!! Anyways, when I do actually get to the game it’s fun. You don’t stay stuck forever like other merge games! You actually see progress which is nice and keeps me entertained and wanting to come back. (Other games you must tap on an object 4-5 times and HOPE you get what you need- likely you won’t; then you run out of energy within 1 min- which is why I’ll be deleting those- it’s boring if you can’t see progress). Kudos to this game tho! I didn’t think I’d like it after seeing it sponsored by a YouTuber awhile ago but here I am, faithful and playing.

This game is insanely confusing. Not only do the characters talk about adult issues like child visitations and single mother life. But then all the characters talk and have personalities of a child in middle school (not even high school, yet dealing with mother/child issues) THEN they only do repeat events that have repeat rewards nothing new. An app that has great potential but is quickly going downhill fast. I’ve been playing over a year now and can say that at last I’ll likely be deleting this app. The storyline never finishes, when you complete as far as they have developed you can’t earn any coins toward the next storyline so you’re stuck trying to earn coins after the fact or spend money to purchase coins to continue.

You get behind in the games because you’ll get merge items so large it takes DAYS to get just one of them to entice you to spend money.

There are other free apps that are much better than this one. What started off fun and relaxing is now just annoying because they make it impossible to progress.

And it’s just the same games over and over.

I wanted to like this game. And I’ll probably keep playing at times, but I lost interest rather fast.

1. 100 energy doesn’t even let you complete 1 order. It can take weeks to get an order done if you don’t put money into the energy. If you let the energy bar grow to even 300, people could actually get some play time in. Or let it increase an energy a minute. As it is, if takes half the day to refill. If I want to play a game, I’m playing a chunk at a time. I don’t want to wait 6 hours to play for 5 minutes.

2. The special events are repetitive. It’s the same few recycled over and over.

3. When deleting items, you should be able to earn coins for them. If I used up an energy to get it, something should be compensated in return.

4. Doubling the cost of 100 energy every time you want to use diamonds to play a little bit longer is excessive. I’d be more willing to buy a bit more if they were just 20 diamonds every time.

4. Your storyline got real creepy when you crossed the line into who Amelia’s dad is. Now he’s “teaching her lessons.” Can’t imagine letting a kid play this game anymore.

5. The cost of you packages is ridiculous. You’d find me spending more money if they cost $5ish. But $35-$50? Absolutely ridiculous.

I’ve enjoyed this game for over a year now but I’ve gotten to a point where I’ll have to spend money in order to enjoy it. The board doesn’t allow for you do full merges, you’re selling off or deleting items really often in order to serve customers and claim prizes. There’s no way (that I’ve seen this far) to increase spaces in storage without real money, and it seems like you add items in there and then never see that item in an order (could be a coincidence). Timers are way too long, I got to Esme’s circus chest and the timer is longer than an hourS thankfully they have some free merges/doubles/energy every so often if you watch ads because without them you couldn’t play. Svens games are the only thing keeping me from deleting it but even that’s not often enough. I hope they add either more games to unlock energy/diamonds/cutting boards or better challenges that are so unachievable. I’ll have 3/4 sometimes 5 orders with 300+ coins which take forever to fulfill, timers at 59 minutes. It’s getting impossible to play.

I rarely write reviews and I also don’t play a lot of iPhone games, but I just had to write a review for this game. It is PHENOMENAL. I (sadly) just got to the “end” where I am in a championship bake out. I can’t wait for another update. I am definitely disappointed that the story didn’t wrap up and that essentially there is no “end” or resolution. I was so afraid to look anything up during game play because I was so invested in the story and didn’t want any spoilers. Wish I knew up front that I was never gonna know because the end isn’t written yet (and who knows if it ever will be).

You will enjoy the story and creating tasty treats until after the 100th day then things become stupid. Poor story line about “aliens” and then it takes over 180 coins just to read a few lines from Amelia’s story. The developers run out of things for Amelia to build, so they throw in a bake off with sinister characters who will cost you a bundle just to get any kind of resolution from Amelia. I have sent in my dissatisfaction to the “team”, but always glib answers and no actual responses. I did find out the time for getting free energy is set in London time zone, which is a five hour difference from my time zone! When I click on their App Store, which they remind you frequently, they want me to purchase more energy, and gems (that are a necessary) that if you wait at least 3 hours you will have enough, but not enough to win. I am tired and frustrated by this “love & pies” I am looking for another app to waste my time!!!. I will not waste my time on this app if it keeps on it’s present line of stupidity!!

This is my fav game right now. I think a lot of the common complaints on here are a little unfair, here’s why:

Pay to play: I love this game so much that I do spend a few dollars here and there just because it buys more stuff to do…but I would still have fun not spending a dime. They give you a lot for free and for watching ads, you can still have fun and not spend money.

Pop ups: there are NO forced ads in this game. No pop up ads at all. You only watch ads to get extras if you want. There ARE pop ups for events when you open the game. I was frustrated with this at first, but if you actually learn the events, you can skip through the pop ups quickly (there’s literally skip buttons) . And the events are SO much fun. If you actually strategize, you can win customer clash and the toy shop, the rose events, and others every time.

So many games force ads on you and make it impossible to play without spending money…this is not one of those games! Give it a chance!

Further update: I was very excited to be able to merge a few of my generators, mainly the bookshelves. All I can say is DO NOT DO THIS! The cool down time is ridiculous and it doesn’t give me near the amount of stuff having them all separate did. I’m so disappointed. Same issue with the orders. I wish the devs would update these things. All of the stuff I said before is still great, but recently I have noticed I get ZERO easy orders. The only ones I get take over a week to complete making any of the events impossible. It’s so frustrating because I loved this game. The only way for me to complete events is to spend real money. I’ll probably delete soon. Recently I purchased an in game item and didn’t receive it. Obviously I was a little upset, but things happen and it’s not a huge deal. Well, I open the game this morning to an apology from the devs and some goodies as well as the item I purchased!! I just wanted to give them a shout out for always being willing to make things right. That’s pretty rare in my experience and I really appreciate it! Also, this game is so much fun!!

I’ve been playing this game for a few months now and it’s so fun! The story is genuinely interesting and the characters are cute and all have adorable designs. The gameplay is fun and easy to understand as well as all the events what they put out! I spend my free time playing this game and have gotten some friends into it too! I really love it and it’s inclusivity.

But there are too many pop ups. There is a second pop up after you run out of energy that asks if you want to buy more with like a special Raj pass and I am free2play. There’s no option to make it not show you again and it gets very annoying. Also, when you open the game sometimes there are like 5 different pop ups for different deals, events and other stuff going on. This is great for the first two times but I don’t want to close a ton of different pop ups every time. I wish there was a way to click a box that says “don’t show this again” so I didn’t need to see it every time.

Let me start out by saying…. I LOVE this game. I play it way more then I’d like to admit. But, Sven’s toy making event has always been the most disappointing for me. It’s been the only event I couldn’t finish. I’ve tried for weeks. And this week I was finally able to finish it!! My one ask is why aren’t we able to sell those excess generators and spawned items? By the end my whole board gets filled with them. I mean at the very LEAST can whatever coins/gems left on our board get added to our winnings? After plowing through and spending at least 60 of my gems to get enough energy when I saw I was actually getting close.. once I finished my last order the event abruptly ended. All the coins and gems I had left on the board without claiming- gone. I love being able to get some extra power ups but, I thought maybe finishing it would bode something else? Like in Yuka's event; where extra roses get turned into coins. It’s so disappointing. This event is so difficult.

I loved this game and played it everyday for over three months. I also spent a good chunk of money supporting it. However, during the event challenges, it kept having technical issues. With the last issue, I decided to contact the app support about the problem and got a lame answer about the mechanics of the game, which I was already well aware of. The basically said it was “user error”. I’ve played the same event challenge numerous times and am well aware of the rules. Basically, it let another player win that didn’t have the required number of points and there should have been another 24 hours to score points for that challenge to win the challenge. Thus, the game clearly had yet another glitch after I spent two days trying to win the event within the time frame allowed. Most apps will give you some type of compensation when the game crashes or has glitches, but not this one. It is frustrating and I would recommend that you don’t waste your time or money on this game.

When I first started playing, I would have definitely given this game five stars. Over the year, there have been tweaks made and for long time players, it’s getting more and more noticeable how much they are trying to increase profit while slowing players down. The generators produce fewer of the better items. For example, the free energy almost never produces level five anymore. In addition, as another reviewer said, the timing of all the events needs to be fixed. The other day, I tapped through a ton of the pop ups re: all the events starting that day or the next. I did reach out to support and gave them feedback and they responded quickly. I definitely feel like the developers are listening and I respect they need to make a profit. But at the same time, it’s just not as fun when you see all the changes that are restricting more and more. I do agree with the repetitive events comments and hope there are new events in store. I don’t know if it is possible but maybe, for those of us who have already played an event, the game could recognize that and not give us the backstory pop ups? Anyway, I’m very willing to come back and update this review if things could get shifted a bit back to the original fun quirkiness of the game with fewer popups.

I really like this game. It has a fun story line, let’s you decorate, good graphics, and merging is great. The gems are way too hard to get for how much anything with gems(like inventory space) cost so that’s frustrating unless you want to spend real money. The other thing that drives me crazy is each time I open the app to play it it has three different side quests and reward games that pop up with graphics and upcoming events. It takes so long to click through them to just actually play the game. I just opened it and there were 5 separate pop ups for the current challenge, the alternate gameboard, the token rewards, the sales, and the upcoming event. It takes so freaking long to get through that sometimes I just close the app because this makes me so frustrated. I’d rather just be able to click on the events tab or icon and play or get information rather than going through the exact same storyline of customer clash or the dating roses game every time I open the app to play and they rotate the challenges every like two days between those two games and so I’m very familiar with the goal of it, how to play, etc but it’s two or three taps for each one before I can even get to the game. If a developer reads this review, PLEASE change this because I can’t handle it haha just don’t make us do this every single day

I really wish I could give this game more stars. I love the storyline, the characters, and the thoughtful representation diversity, LGBTQ, and disability. But ultimately, this game is a money pit. The energy runs out within minutes of me opening the game, and it takes too long to generate. I’m the kind of gal who binges playing games when I’m in need of a little TLC so having to come back every several hours for a few min of gameplay isn’t for me. The plot is great, but I just can’t justify or afford the amount of money it would take to buy the energy needed to play to get a sizable chunk progress made for the plot reveal. I am never able to finish any of the competitions past the first few rounds because ultimately this is a pay-for-play. If the developers are reading: please change this - I know y’all need to make money but really, if you are going to make this free to download at least make there be a way to make decent and reasonably quick progress in the game without spending money. I have kids to feed. Otherwise, you may as well paywall it from the start (pay to download).

I like the improvement over other merge games, the way the story is presented is very engaging and the decorating activities are very cute. The entire look of the game is beautiful and the movement of customers and characters makes the game feel alive. The daily games - winning roses, the toy game, race against other players, Edwina cash games, picnic pass - make it easy to win prizes but the rotation - every 2-3 days one or more are active, give the game a slightly chaotic, repetitive feel. I would space them out more so that only one mini event is live, with even some days in between without any. That way they would feel more special. Also at $10, the picnic pass is too pricey, especially when it doesn’t offer anything special in it - if I get enough roses for Yuka and cash for Edwina, I get enough premium perks not to need to pay for the pass. And I don’t think that is what you want….

I hope you are developing a second game, I really like the aesthetic of this game and would love to play another from you.

This game is so simple yet so fun and the challenges are so addicting it’s taken over all my free time. The graphics and rewards are great and the developers really care about the consumer and are always taking care of bugs and rewarding us. My biggest complaint though is to SLOW DOWN WITH THE EVENTS! I’ve only been playing for a few weeks and when I first started after a night of insomnia and some commercials I couldn’t get enough, and even the first event hastened I was all in and devoted extra time, a day after that one ended a new one began, now after only playing for less than a month not only have I cycled through each event 3-4 times, the timing is so close that I’m literally currently in 4 events at the same time right now. It’s too much, it makes them, less eventful, and makes me not want to put my time into completing the challenges. Please show down or at least space them out. I also find the context to be a little too mature (the details of the story) compared to when it first began, but nonetheless I’m still addicted and playing at all hours of the day and night :-)

I have been playing this game for I think around half of a year and I am so addicted.(in the best way possible) The game is truly one of the most wholesome games I could even be playing and the cute storyline is my favorite. I like that they switch it up and have so many different things like “Yuka’s Date Dash.” I play this game when I am happy, sad, angry, etc.. and it always just seems to calm me and it makes me so happy. I like that it is a slower paced game but at the same time fast passes like a better way to express what I am saying is that I just don’t get bored of it. I play this game at any time in the day I just love it, like I am sitting here at 11:00 at night writing this review out of my own free will(i have never ever, ever done that) and I am happier then I could even be. I understand what one reviewer said that she doesn’t pay a lot and that’s well and fine. With that being said it’s the amount of time it takes to spend through the energy and diamonds that makes it hard to keep coming back. I had the same issue on two other merge games and I deleted both. I’m liking this one for the story line. Its very catchy but not catchy enough for me to waste through everything in ten minutes. Not only does it take no time to burn through those things it also takes no time for me to burn through generating new items and then I have to wait for that too so that also shortens the time spent. It’s not about spending the money it’s about how much you’d have to spend because you’re going to burn it fast. I’d do all in all great game. Great story line but let us be able to spend some time on it. Give more energy or don’t take as much. Developers could even find a better way to get more diamonds. Have a mini game within the app that allows this. Not 2-3 diamonds like 60 at a time that would be nice. If you still wanted some restrictions make it a one time every 24 hours type of thing. Idk just some thoughts.

i absolutely LOVE the mid-century modern art style of love & pies, and the art deco options for decorations! i love vintage style and go antiquing a lot, so its fun to see similar styles that i enjoy in a mobile game thats also very engaging! the characters are super cute and interesting, and i love the diverse cast of characters. i actually found out about this game from danielle kirsty, and usually im hesitant about youtuber sponsorships, but the game looked so cute that i wanted to give it a try. and im so glad i did! the game is super fun, wonderful art, satisfying sound effects, and constant events that keep the gameplay interesting with great rewards.

I have had Love & Pies for a VERY long time. I don’t even know how long. Maybe a year? and in that time I’ve never uninstalled it which is a feat that only 1 other mobile game shares. I loathe microtransactions but I recognize that is how most mobile games are able to thrive in our society. However, I’ve never felt pressured to spend real money on this game and the times I have are because I genuinely wanted to as a form of support, not because I felt the purchase was necessary to continue the game. Everything about this game is top notch, from the gameplay to the cast diversity. I adore this game. The story is great, it makes me laugh out loud, and I enjoy the merge mechanics.

My only issue is that is slightly over monetized. I get people have to make money, but I’ve already spent 20 dollars and I don’t feel good spending more as I can’t really afford it. I’d put down another 20 just to be able to play to the end of the main story;one, but it looks like I’ll end up paying 100s of dollars if I want to play fluidly. Now I’m down to once or twice a day so my energy’s refills. It feels weird such a sweet game has such a predatory model.

It looks like the game devs are addressing it, so I’m hopeful. If you read these, please find a grindy way! Or a no ads (internal shop ads) way to play. In fact, I don’t love the cafe choices, so I’d pay to customize if it came with energy.

Anyhow, as it is, I’ll probably forget I’m playing it soon. I prefer games I can play for a one time fee, then have the option to customize, speed up or get unstuck. Thank you for listing.

I love this game. Not only is it super fun and pleasing to the eye, the developers also go out of their way to be supportive of good causes! They recently won a competition by showcasing ways to be environmentally conscious. It was so well done—they seamlessly worked environmental awareness directly into gameplay using cute frogs. They make a point to proudly feature an extremely diverse cast of characters in a way that feels completely natural. No one shows up simply because they check off a diversity box—they all have their own motivations and friendships that weave them in and out of the storyline. The developers are also constantly adding fun little side-games for different seasons and holidays. Not to mention, the matching game has beautiful art direction and is FUN! It’s just so impressive. I wish I could give it ten stars!

Update: I appreciate your full-on celebration of LGBTQ Pride since so many of my loved ones are queer, but that’s not enough to keep me playing. This was my favorite mobile game but I’m just about done with it now that I can no longer force myself to watch ads to get rewards. Lately I’ve been getting an ad for a game that’s so repulsive I get nauseated within 1 second of seeing it on the screen. Love and Pies isn’t worth putting myself through that, and since it’s not worth it anymore to spend money instead of watching ads, I have to wait too long for generators to produce anything. You totally destroyed a great game.

Like everyone else writing reviews recently I’m frustrated that the latest updates have changed the timing of the item generators so much that I can only play for a few minutes before I’m out of items to merge. Before, I didn’t mind watching some ads or spending a few dollars because I was really enjoying the game. But I refuse to spend the amount of money it now costs to make progress at a reasonable rate. I’m playing less and less often and will just delete the game if this “bug” isn’t fixed soon. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars instead of one is that I really appreciate that your game has prominent LGBTQ characters as well as people from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Kudos to you on that, and Happy Pride!

I loved this game when I started but it has quickly become infuriating to play as the rewards vs level of difficulty of an order don’t match up. It now takes forever to complete some orders (I’m talking days and weeks) as the generators take way too long to recharge to then only pop out a dismal amount t of items each time. The higher the level of generator makes no difference in the number of items produced or it’s recharge time so that’s useless to collect parts to increase the generator level.

The special events like Yuka’s rose event or Edwina’s cash dash are a joke as it’s impossible to beat because of everything mentioned above.

This game went from fun to frustrating as the updates continuously make things worse and seem to be pushing players to have to spend real money on the game in order to try to level up or beat these events. Love the idea but I will be looking for alternative merge games as this one is a dead end.

Honestly this game could have been great. It's the typical Microtransaction stuff of diamonds and energy and only being able to play for long before you run out and need to do something else for two hours or pay real money. I wouldn't normally have an issue with that since I always buy a bundle if I like the game to support the devs making it. My biggest issue so far is the increasing amount of diamonds you need to spend to get energy back. Like it'll be ten, then it's twenty, then it's ten again, then it's forty. Like why increase the number of diamonds it takes to refill? Just seems like a pretty cheap way to make sure you run out of diamonds faster instead of just making it ten or twenty every time.

Overall it's your pretty standard merge game with a mystery plot. You get to pick one of three options to place in your restaurant and can follow the cute little plot if you want. I'd say slightly better than average for this type of game, but you will hit the pay to play wall very quickly and even if you do buy diamonds to support the game, it's going to sting you for more and more every time you use them. Do with that info what you will.

UPDATE 6/19: Developer said they were fixing the generator bug but it has been weeks. I barely open the app now because I know I won’t be able to complete objectives. They are releasing new events but not fixing the generator issue. I will end up deleting if it isn’t fixed.

UPDATE: I am back to giving this game five stars as I just read the message that the generator issue is being fixed AND the developer is providing a temporary fix until it can be fixed overall. Very well handled by the development team!

ORIGINAL: I LOVE this game and have given it 5 stars in the past, but this new update that was just released stinks. The best part about this game was that it was more fast paced than other merge games. The generators would give you so many items before running out and now it’s half the amount, meaning it takes way longer to complete the tasks. If it doesn’t change back, I will most likely lose interest in this game (like other merge ones I’ve had) because the rewards are few and far between. Also the extra item bubbles are annoying and I wish there was a way to quickly delete them once they pop up. I do love the new toad challenge and the meaning behind it, and the little pride inclusions so I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2.

Update #2 6/17: I have only opened this app once this week to see if things finally got better only to find that they have now doubled the price of the picnic pass to $9.99! Still no fix for the generator. They keep saying they will fix it, but they won’t. Clearly they don’t care about their community. I like this game when I first started and I still sort of do. I feel like it’s very stingy with how it allows you to quickly build back energy. Travel Town is a game just like this one, and I find that if you’re making progress in the game then you get rewarded very handsomely to keep moving forward with the levels. I don’t even have to use the “fridge” feature because the board becomes too crowd with thinks I should’ve unlocked levels ago. I get more enjoyment out of playing Travel Town, but I’m invested in the story on this game. That’s the only reason I keep it. Leveling up or fixing high level orders just isn’t as stressful on Travel Town here. I also hate that they often have someone order a lower item and in a rush to get them out of your face you feel tempted to go ahead and sell. It takes a long time to build to higher level items. Anyway. I don’t love this game, but I don’t have it either. If you’re willing to spend money then maybe these wouldn’t be problems to you.

I downloaded this game after a favorite YouTuber of mine was sponsored by them, because it looked so cute and I love free games to pass time throughout my day. This game has been so much fun, I literally deleted most of the other games I had been playing because they just didn’t compare once I started this one! The merging patterns are very easy to follow (versus other games where I’d get overwhelmed/confused), the graphics are really well done, the story is so cute, and I love the little popping noise the pieces make when you merge. I never really cared for games like this before because I didn’t get the appeal, but now this is easily my favorite game I play! Can’t recommend it enough. Also, the ads are extremely non-invasive and entirely avoidable if you don’t want to see them at all! I don’t mind watching them for the boosts, because the reward is often really helpful. Just 10/10 a great game, and exactly how other apps *should* be but often aren’t.

I’ve been playing this game for a week, and thus far I really enjoy it. It’s the first merge game I’ve ever seen that actually LOOKS nice. I have a hard time looking at the rudimentary merge games that all involve a garden for some reason. Also, I enjoy the music in this game. Although there are only two songs, they remind me of music by Explosions in the Sky. If the developers ever changed the music, I don’t know if I would stick around, sadly. I did get addicted within the first 48 hours of downloading (it was a weekend), and spent some money, but now that work has come around, there is time for the energy to build up and it’s been good to temper any desire to buy more gems for more energy. That being written, I wish there were a way to purchase extra supplies or energy with coins rather than gems.

I’ve been playing this game for a month and I’ve gotta say…it’s one of the most satisfying games I’ve ever played. It’s engaging, the story is cute and mysterious, graphically pleasing, I love the options for the remodel, the merge is a bit of a grind but I do not mind that, and there is always some event going on to keep it fun. A lot of other “free to play”games make it nearly impossible to not spend money on the currency needed to advance, but this one does a pretty good job of keeping me from spending money on it which as you all know the devs want/need in order to make money themselves. Even if you choose to pay for gems or packs I personally do not feel like the pricing structure is unreasonable, it’s nice to not feel gouged. The “map” is huge too, lots of rooms to remodel and renovate which keeps a goal oriented gamer like myself committed to helping Amelia until the end. I can’t see what the devs add to this masterpiece of a mobile game, keep up the great work!

I really like this game and find it a bit easier to progress than other merge games but there are a few improvements that would make it really great.

- Remove all the LGBT characters or limit that part of the story. There are FOUR characters in this game and one is even bisexual or some garbage. This is a kids game (at least it looks like it) that agenda has no place in a freakin game. And it’s mentioned frequently, not once or twice. I feel like skipping all the story just because of this, it’s ridiculous and completely unnecessary.

-Special missions like the cat take WAY too long, been playing for months and still can’t get to the last cat. That’s not fun and I can’t even see a way to purchase upgrades for the cat house.

-Ads do not play for me to get free energy or skip generator times. Contacted support and their suggestions did nothing.

-Would be super nice if the generators gave a time remaining on recharging, simple thing that makes deciding whether to spend gems is worth it.

-More storage would be nice as I struggle to know what to keep sometimes and also would love easier to fulfill orders. There’s always one order after another that have a maxed item that takes forever to make and with limited board space it becomes tedious.

Cute game and better in my opinion than Merge Mansion, in terms of gameplay and progressing. Would be 5 stars with a little work.

Im writing the review bc of the amazing customer service i received. I had an issue with the game freezing for a couple of days, as soon as i contacted them they solved it. They were super helpful and nice.

About the game: I had been looking for a game that keeps my interest with no stress factor. I love it because i can open it when i have 1-2 minutes to myself, but doesn’t force me to be engaged for a specific time. For example, if im working and play any other game while waiting for customers, I’ll eventually get interrupted in the middle of a game and loose, but not with this one. This i can pause, and come back to it with no consecuences. Love that ads are only optional, and never get an ad if i don’t want to. So sometimes I’ll watch some in order to get more energy, or other prices.

I’ve been playing Love & Pies for over 6 months now. I play for at least an hour total, every single day! A lot of people complain about the energy and diamonds, but I’ve never had to spend a lot of money to get them. And trust me, I’m a single mom of two kids so money is not something I have a lot of. But this game has never been unreasonable for me. You can either put the game down and wait a bit, or you can spend a small amount to get a pretty decent amount. You can watch an ad for energy every day and you get a decent amount. Plus they regenerate pretty quickly. When I run out of energy I close out the game and come back to it a while later and I have full energy again and almost all my resources are recharged. If you had constant energy and diamonds you would get bored very quickly. Also, it’s a free game, so the creators have to make money somehow. Imagine all the work they put into making this game! They’re not gonna give it away for free. I’m addicted to this game and the only reason I would stop playing is if I completed it. I love the story, the characters, all the different events, everything about this game. I’ve played hundreds upon hundreds of mobile games and this is the longest I’ve ever kept a game on my phone let alone played it every day.

for sure the best merge game ive found with a semi interesting story line. usually i skip the story to merge because i love this merge game more than the others. and i absolutely adore how much you decorate and change the layouts and that you can go back and change them if you want after you pick. HOWEVER. i do have my gripes. ive been playing for months and haven’t progressed that far because its a very slow moving game unless you spend money or get lucky and clear a bunch of orders at once. as you progress it slows significantly as well. the events are nearly impossible to finish let alone get halfway through. and they end SO soon when it takes the entire event to get my energy back up and be able to merge. that said ill never delete this game and i 11/10 recommended. but devs PLEASE make the events easier to complete, i havent completed a single one, even after purchasing stuff with my own money

This game is unfinished and when you “fix” everything there is in the game you get put into this event where you are not able to earn coins. I’m sure this is to prevent you from saving up your coins because the game has so much developing left to do and they don’t want people to complete it all quickly but when you launch an unfinished game with in app purchases it’s unfair to stop game players from progressing just because you didn’t finish the app.

The game is also rated for twelve and up and I’ve let some of my younger cousins play the game for this reason. Some of the advertisements you can choose to watch for rewards are not appropriate for children, there was one for some zombie game where a woman was tied up to the bed with a man yelling at her about the survival game which was appalling to me.

If the developers allow you to earn coins while they continue finishing this game, and better screen advertisements I will happily change the rating because the game itself is fun. There are some minor issues like generators being inconsistent in the time it takes them to recharge, and the amount they spawn once they do, the math not making sense of how many gems certain items cost or how much coin they’re worth, drawings for the plot having background images that don’t match what you have “fixed” in the game, etc. but ultimately it is fun to play

Absolutely love this game! I downloaded it over a month ago after reading all the positive reviews, and have played it every day since! Here’s what I love: - Interesting story line - Gay characters! - Great gameplay - No ads unless you choose to watch one for extra items/energy (which I often do) - In game purchases are reasonably priced - The picnic pass quests are fun and the rewards are great! - Edwina’s Cash Dash event is great! - I LOVED the arcade event! I hope I get to keep the arcade event forever The only thing I’m not too keen on is the Roses event, as that often adds extra items to my already-cluttered board. I also agree with the other reviews stating they wished the Toy Shop had a separate energy meter; I often don’t participate in these unless all my main generators are tapped out and I have energy remaining, as I’m too excited to continue the story!

Update: I’ve now reached the “Bake Off” part of the game, having finished Day 57 which is the last one in the game so far. I think it’s a great interesting way to keep earning gems and parts for generators while the developers work on what’s next!

I’ve been wanting to review this game for a while, as it honestly deserves all the accolades it can get for being an actually enjoyable merge game with an engaging story, hilarious and fun characters, and enjoyable events (I’m really enjoying the current Mayor storyline and the Picnic Pass is very much worth it - it feels like the difficulty has been adjusted this time to make getting everything more possible so thank you!).

I also find I can get a lot more done in a session than other merge games as the energy restores very quickly and the game actually awards coins and gems on a regular basis.

My only minor complaint would be that I’m a little bored of cycling between Yuka and Edwina’s events every couple of days and would like something new. But it’s no big deal.

Finally, a suggestion: I would love love LOVE it if you could add a gallery where I could go to see all the beautiful artwork from the story. It seems such a shame to only see each pic once during the dialogue/story scenes, and it would help me to remember what has happened so far. Please consider adding this feature!

Thanks so much for making a game that was actually just like the ads (the same story even, amazing!) and which doesn’t force ads in game (only if you choose to watch for energy etc). Great story, great characters, great fun :)

Unless you plan on paying a LOT of money, the events are basically impossible to complete. When games/dice are the most elusive items to generate, an order with three kinds of games will only give you two roses?! And high level orders with drinks/cakes that are second from highest merge level are the same?? How does that make sense? An order with an apple pie is two roses as well, which is ridiculous considering that it still takes a while to get but is considerably more accessible than a majority of the orders that seem to come in. The generation for items needs to adjusted, as well as the order values. If I have a full roster of nothing but practically legendary orders then how am I suppose to progress in the game? Or even enjoy the events? They’re a waste of time with how it is now because it’s impossible to compete in.

I enjoy this game, the design, the colours, the styles. The dialogue needs to be reviewed because of the typos I’ve noticed(teh, aparantly, etc) but that’s fairly minor. Overall, it would be more user friendly if there were the adjustments to make it a bit more fair.

Update: Since my last review I'm disappointed to say that the same exact events have been going for months. Edwina, Yuka and the toys events in rotation. I have no motivation to keep playing this. I'm keeping the game on my phone because I love it and want to play more but not if the developers don't add more variety. I'll keep updating until I see something new...

I've been playing this game all summer and I love it! If you're reading this, you should play this game. I'm a huge fan and will definitely keep this game on my phone for a long time. It's great for causual play. However, I am taking a break for a little while because I am ready for some new events. I've done the money game and the roses so many times I feel my head will pop. The toy event is fun and different which is cool but I too am a little burned out on it I'm wondering if the developers are no longer managing this game? Because most games have a constant new and fresh rotation of events but I'm not seeing anything like that here. Even if the mechanisms are the same, the look, style and motivation behind the event can be different. Again, I am a big fan! Have put a lot of money into this game. I love the story line SO much and I don't plan to stop playing full time but after so much repetition my other games have been more interesting.

Game is adorable but needs fixing.

I love the game. It’s beautiful and fun. However, I don’t like how some of the tasks are hard to complete with energy always running out and taking forever to recharge. I can’t get far in the game without reaching a dead end or paying real money. I’m not spending hundreds of dollars every week on this game. This game is just like others, enough to get your attention but you have to keep paying out real money just to play. I’m tired of only being able to play for 2 minutes just to have to wait hours before I can play again. I miss games that were one set price and you can play for as long as you want. Drop the storyline and just make it a endless play. Or make game modes with a storyline and one where you can just play without needing coins and energy and all that crap. Leave it for the story line for a challenge. But for those that want to just endlessly play, help us out here.

this is the merge game i downloaded after getting sick of another one's constant ads and bugs. there are no bugs that i've run into with this game and the ads are only there if you specifically ask to view one for a reward - the ideal f2p model!

my two main issues are minor, and not at all enough to discourage me from playing the game - they are, however, enough to discourage me from spending more at times. first, it would be nice to have "event" energy separate from the main game energy when sven's event and any future ones like it come up. i usually choose not to engage with that event because it depletes regular energy and i like the main storyline enough to not want to waste the energy on a repeating event. my other issue is that some items do not scale appropriately. it makes the most sense for items to double in cash return when you merge them, but many items only increase by one coin. this makes selling off items to make room for more inventory for the pending orders a real waste. it would be better if they doubled in value, especially since the items only merge up to about 10 levels.

either way, these are mechanics present in other, similar games, so i only suggest them for that reason. the game is still a ton of fun and i highly recommend it!

This is a great and fun merge game. Much better than any other I’ve played. I do wish that energy regenerated faster & items refreshed faster as you can only play in small stints and it takes a long time to complete more advanced orders. That being said, still would give 4.5 stars for the general game play.

My reason for giving a 3 star review is picnic pass. I purchased the golden ticket option for extra prizes and incentives, only to find out that it is literally impossible to complete in the allotted time. The points needed to reach the next level increase steadily, while you’re offered the same amount of quests that don’t seem to increase in value and only refresh once per day. You can continue to receive points for merging items after you’ve completed the specific quests, but that’s only 50 points for 100 merges…and I’m presently at a level where you need to accrue over 1600 points to get the next prize (and I’m less than halfway through the levels so I can only assume it gets more challenging from here). I never would’ve purchased the golden ticket option if I realized that it was actually impossible to complete the event.

I’ve tried a lot of different merge games after being frustrated with many others lack of story and design in general. Not only is this a game you can tell the devs cared about when making, but it is SO inclusive of all people in it’s characters. Many representation of minorities in a game that doesn’t feel like a cash grab, finally. I actually don’t mind forking over $5 for this kind of quality here and there that I’d have spent on coffee anyways to buy myself a few helpful items. The implementation of being able to watch ads instead of purchase to skip time or pop bubbles is so great for f2p and casual players. The ads aren’t too long and sometimes skip ahead as much as 7 or 8 crystals. I love this game most out of all I have tried. Good job dev team, yall did the dang thang.

let me start of by saying I really enjoy playing this game. The personal touches to the restaurant, the different recipes, its all really nice and fun to play with. My only real complain is the pace of the game. I can only accomplish a couple orders a day because there is so little energy to work with. That and every individual order type is different aka beverages are mixed, pantry is mixed with apples, bread, pesto etc. I enjoy the game and would enjoy playing more in the sense of completing more orders and discovering different recipes!!! It took me soooo long to get the pesto, and I still haven't been able to make a two tiered cake :( The customer has been waiting for days!!! I want more orders, new recipes, different ingredients, more renovations, all of it!!! I do enjoy the merging, but I want to merge more! Also there aren't any side games or variety to the game. Its always the same two competitions with the Dash and Ericas Date, it gets repetitive and is expected. I think this game has alot of potential it just needs more UMPH!

I absolutely love this game. It’s so much fun and I’m completely immersed in the story. Usually with games like these I fulfill orders for months and do the story little by little and end up hoarding coins, but I couldn’t stop with the story on this one! Not just the story is good either, the art is absolutely adorable, the furniture and decor options while remodeling are gorgeous, and it’s a very well paced game! Sometimes I have to set a timer for my energy to refill and force myself not to open the game until it’s done because I just can’t get enough of it! Also, the events always keep me on my toes and I love that. All that being said, I have one recommendation: an un-merge option. It could be like “watch an ad to unmerge this” or like a special item you get for completing story quests. Either way, the lack of this feature definitely isn’t a deal breaker. Can’t wait to keep playing! (Has my energy reloaded yet??)😁

There are a couple of merge game paradigms. One is this type, where you merge items to fulfill orders. My enjoyment of these depends on the wrapping, since the gameplay is identical. And this is the best wrapping of this type of game out there. Most importantly is that there’s a continuing story to keep you interested. And I’m totally hooked on the story. I have never seen a f2p game with so much racial diversity and LGBTQ representation and it is so refreshing! I rarely spend real money on these games but I’m happy to support the development of such inclusive gaming.

Two points people have made. 1: The main character is in yet another romantic storyline. Yes, but there’s so much else going on, and I wonder if that reviewer was even paying attention, as he suggests an alternate storyline of her being worried about her mother…which is in fact the very plot of the game! 2: The game is designed to take your money/There’s not enough playtime before energy runs out. Um, is this your first f2p game? You don’t get a free game for actual free, dear hearts! At least this one doesn’t pummel you with ads for gems.

This is a game to play a few times a day, not as your main source of gaming, with a fun mechanic, adorable art, and inclusive storytelling. It’s a pleasure to spend money on it every so often. (No different from Patreon, really.)

In a sea of cheap, copy and paste cash-grab games this is a true gem to find. I have played other merge games only to be attacked by ads every two seconds and aggresive pushing of microtransactions to continue, but that's not the case with this one! In fact, aside from the microtrasactions they do have, they are reasonably priced and give you a lot for your money.

The actualy game is like your typical merge game, but they do so well at intertwining it with the story, it makes it much more engaging! Note that this is a casual game, you will have to wait to progress but it's a reasonable amount of time and paying isnt necessary to continue (A possible suggestion for developers,I would love to be able to find a way to see how long until the "spawners" replenish)

I think however one of the biggest things I love about this game and what makes it stand out among the others is the story and characters. It really does seem at first to be your typical "inhereted a building and have to refurbish it" game but thought was put into the characters and stories. The characters are very diverse and its wonderful seeing more representation of LGBT folks and people of color. It was clear a lot of though was put into this game and I hope to see more games like this in the future.

Let me just say that everything about this game design-wise is delightful. The visuals are bright and cheery, the characters are interesting and clearly have their personalities thought through, the story is fun to follow (maybe a little cliche to begin with, but I don’t mind it), and the animation is honestly better than what I see in most mobile games. There is so, so much to love about it, and I can’t wait to see how it’s built upon in the future.

As well as that, the developers are super responsive! Perhaps just because the game is relatively new, but either way they really seem to take note of what players are saying (or complaining about, whoops) and use that feedback to make their gameplay better. It’s clear that they care deeply about the product they’re creating, as well as all those who love playing through it!

All in all, I think Love & Pies has a really fun, solid foundation, and I’m so excited to see how the story and the game itself continue to develop from here. I think I’ll be keeping this one downloaded for a good while!

TL;DR: Great game, but be prepared to be frustrated if you like playing rather than waiting!

I love merge games. This quickly became my favorite with its cute storyline and awesome graphics. But it's aggravatingly slow. The energy restoration time takes way too long, the item producers are too short-lived and they spawn low-level items 98% of the time. So if your want to play and not be frustrated, you have to consistently purchase more energy when you're lives run out and gems when the item producers are exhausted. It would make more sense to either make the energy and gems reproduce more quickly and reward more supply chests throughout the "day" after completing tasks or input ads, and/or make it a paid app to earn money. As it is, it's way too slow to be enjoyable for a prolonged period.

Also, the outlines of Joe and Raj's characters aren't as crisp as the others in the story tasks, like their drawings weren't reviewed before the game went live. I just updated and it hasn't been addressed yet. It's a small detail but worth mentioning when all the other illustrations are so great.

Beautiful art, but progress is too slow with little reward.

I really enjoy the graphics and diversity of the characters, but the storyline takes up too much time. It takes DAYS to complete a single order of higher level ingredients because of the limit on energy. And when you finally have enough coins to complete a task, the tasks mostly involve scripts rather than updating the cafe. Not only is there very little progress as far as decorating, but there also are rarely any rewards for completing a task- you have to wait to “complete the day” to get a gift basket, but every now and then you’ll get a random object or energy box.

It would be helpful if our max energy could be increased because, as it stands, I’m only able to play for 5-10 minutes before I run out, thus taking even more time to complete orders. I also think boosters would be helpful! Like maybe one that splits a higher-level object into two of its previous level items, and maybe one that doubles or triples production of a resource with a single click.

I’m enjoying merge games at the moment and decided to give Love & Pies a go. The graphics are solid, easy to navigate and I’ve even found myself forgetting to skip some of the stories.

Here’s why I know this will be a temporary game unless a more satisfying user playtime experience becomes the focus.

Slow progress - I don’t mind a game that is slow up unfold, especially when you’re afforded the space to do that. I’m currently at level 19 with still a dozen locked spaces on a 63 space board. If one unlocks the game through progression, why not encourage players to progress in the game by giving enough play time to want you coming back.

Time - speaking of playtime, this is the other double whammy here. And that’s not a positive if you don’t get that reference. One the earlier levels, they are quite a few new discoveries one can make with the 100 lot of energy points. However, as you level up and orders require more energy, it takes several refills of that 100 bar to meet an average order. One of the things that made that easier, the 100 energy box was just decreased in the last update. Why??

Currently, there is little enticement for me to play, so I definitely won’t invest more money into it. Unless there are more points of interest added in the next few updates, I’ll end up deleting this game. Which is a bit sad, it’s a really cute game!

I truly, dearly love this game. The graphics are stunning, the character design is absolutely fantastic and so darling and expressive. For once I actually enjoy the episode scripts because I love seeing the characters’ reactions! The bright cheery atmosphere and creative character design is what made me download the app and what truly makes it the most memorable game I’ve played this year (and I’ve played a dozen merge games that I picked up and discarded). I can’t wait until there’s more episodes available.

My literal only recommendation is to allow players to watch ads for more energy or to pop some of the item bubbles. Everything else is absolutely top notch stellar design!

*ETA: I also am delighted beyond words to see Sven and his partner. I’m always disappointed that games with love interests as part of the story inevitably have no LGBTQ+ representation, and I am so wonderfully happy to be proven wrong here!

From its appearance to its storyline, this game is very cute and could easily become a favorite...Except that it’s aiming solely to make money. It’s like the developers don’t want people to play their game. You have to wait hours to get 100 energy that gets quickly depleted tediously churning out ingredients to merge into higher level recipes. The sources of ingredients often shut down to “recharge” or need to be remade (bread) after only a few plays. I get that these games are out to make a profit but this is just poor gameplay. I can’t play for more than 5 minutes at a time and progress is painfully slow. Like, it’ll take you days to fill an order with upper-level recipes. Days. Starting from scratch. Make 50 cookies and you won’t even be close to completing your order. Games are meant to be fun and the gameplay is punishing and offers very little reward. Give players more starting energy and perhaps give out more recipe items with each tap. It’s such a shame because I like everything else about this game. I am deleting it and never touching another merge game again.
