Description
Mobile Passport Control streamlines your U.S. Customs and Border Protection processing experience. Simply fill out your profile and answer CBP’s questions – then go straight to the “Mobile Passport Control” lane at the airport.
CBP Mobile Passport Control is a voluntary program which can be used by U.S. Citizens and Canadian citizen visitors at any of the supported airport and seaport locations found on our website: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/mobile-passport-control
CBP Mobile Passport Control can be used in 5 simple steps:
1.) Eligible traveler(s) download the application and create a profile(s) using biographic information from their passport(s) and take a “selfie”; all eligible members in a family group can create a profile, submit their CBP form (up to 12 eligible members per trip), and store their information completely free to be used for future travel.
2.) Upon landing, travelers select their method of travel, port of entry and terminal, answer CBP inspection related questions, certify the truthfulness and accuracy of their answers, and submit their profiles and responses to CBP.
3.) Once submitted, CBP sends an encrypted Quick Response (QR) code back to the traveler’s device.
4.) Travelers proceed to the MPC designated queue upon arrival and present their QR code to a CBP Officer along with their passport. Please note: MPC does not replace your passport; your passport will need to be presented to the CBP Officer.
5.) The CBP Officer will complete their inspection.
MPC provides a more efficient, secure in-person inspection process for the CBP Officer and the traveler, and shortens overall entry wait times.

The app allows you to fill in data. But once arriving at designated airport there wrre multiple errors preventing submission whether on cellular or wifi. Error message sstated to contact an agent. Once in front of a Custom agent the problem was explained to which he replied that he didn't need the app for processing. Without being able to use this the whole thing from beginning to end took only 2 minutes to clear customs. This app is currently junk. Perhaps updates will help

I don’t understand how the app doesn’t seem to have a handle on who does and does not accept their app. I just went through customs at MIA 1.5 weeks ago and customs employees said they don’t use Mobile Passport. I wasted time downloading and filling this out. So now you have all my info?!?!? Not cool.

After three PSAs instructing me to use the app, I downloaded and completed my profile. Easy enough. The problem is - this app is obsolete. TSA no longer uses it. At least not at DFW.

Contrary to many 1* reviews the App is very easy to use. The only design defect is that you have to start at the “Begin Your Entry Process” screen, select “Airplane” or “Cruise Ship” - which does not matter at that point - and only than start adding travelers. Once that step is complete, you cancel the entry form, and the data will remains recorded in the App.
Once you are about to arrive you go to that same “Begin Your Entry Process” screen, and on the next page select from those travelers profiles that you have already created.
The actual experience at the airport may vary. In EWR in September there were clearly marked signs for MPC, however that was the same line as for the crew, which was actually a bit longer than the regular line. (Which was uncharacteristically short at the time.)
In PHL in December the MPC line was “hidden in plain sight”: there was a huge sign, but it was different in style from all the other signs directing the traffic, and our family has missed it on the first pass. However going through that line saved us at least half an hour or more.
At any event, with MPC there’s always an option to just use regular line if it looks shorter.

Piece of trash app. Doesn’t scan my passport properly, enabling face ID just leads to a loop of continuously asking to enable face ID, and wouldn’t save my info. The older version of this app worked great, no idea why they had to screw with it.

This is difficult to get, a pain to start, and it was the slowest line in passport control by 15 minutes. I timed the guy who got off the plane next to me. He went through regular passport control 15 minutes before I did. There were lots of people in line behind me. What a waste of time after a long flight. Don’t bother.

The instructions say one you install the app you will be prompted to create and account and add your data. This option does not exist. There is only the option to fill out an entry form by air or sea. This app needs a lot of work. Doesn’t work as described on the website.
