Hello. I have been playing this game for a couple of days now and I almost decided to give it 5 stars but I gave it 4 because I think the devs should add a crafting system in which you could craft items of a higher rarity by exchanging multiple items of the rarity just below it. For example, you could exchange 2 normal items for 1 super item, and then 2 super items for 1 high end item. Also, a feature where you can add a favorite item for each rarity, and when you craft an item of that rarity(presuming you decide to make the crafted item(s) random)it would give a much much higher chance to obtain that favorite item, so an example would be selecting a favorite high end item as the “b dasher mk.2” and when I craft a high end item it would give a MUCH higher chance of the b dasher mk 2 being crafted than other high end items. Please add this to the game, but other than that it is a great game

Since the end of the year brings slower times at my job I’ve been playing this on my phone more heavily. When I open the game it crashes constantly. I have to clear the cache, delete the game, then reinstall only to have it not load at all. And it seems to only wanna correct itself on Wi-Fi. And if I have no wifi connection any where then it gets annoying to have to constantly be deleting the app so it would work. I wish I had the money for a Switch but I don’t so I guess I’m stuck on this cycle.

Ok. Been playing since day 1. So yes I like the game. Here’s the problem. You only have enough tracks to entertain you for the first week. They give you new tracks every two weeks. The second week you have no reason to play cause you already beat all the tracks the first week. Fix this.

To the developers. When we hit a milestone like level 20. How about we can’t go below that number. You know. We want to take a break but if we don’t play we keep going down. We should get two things. A pause option. And every ten levels you stay at that level. So I can’t get past level 48. I get there then you guys put up levels with guys I don’t have so i end up back at 42. I would like it that I could not go under 40. I would stay at 40 until I worked my way back up again. When I hit 50. I can’t go below 50 no matter how much I lose. Please

Good game overall in general the graphics are nice there are characters earn able hear but not in 8 deluxe and I think there is a skin option I deleted the game after a bit because I found it hard compared to 8 deluxe so I’m not really familiar with the game that much. But in the time I’ve played it wasn’t the best for me but it was good. First off the controls at first in my opinion (I was 7 or something) I found it hard to use the controls in the game. They were kinda wacky at first until I got used to the drag but never in the time that I played had I gotten an item frenzy. To me they felt impossible and you may have fixed it to where it’s more likely of a chance to get a frenzy but I never got it so I was kinda upset about that. Otherwise besides the bugs, glitch’s, and stuff that was hard for me good game with good maps. My rating is four because of the frenzy problem :)

Firstly, you get pretty much what you see: a Mario Kart game for mobile phones. If you don’t look any deeper than that, it’s perfect for you. That said, it’s nothing like console, the driving controls are fair weather in reliability, multiplayer is like being thrown to the snake pit, and the pipes are just money sinks as I have NEVER acquired a unique racer or kart from one. And I’m not exaggerating with the use of “never”. Don’t buy rubies and waste them on pipes, you have been warned. The drop rate is abysmal. Avoid at all costs. For what you would think would be a children’s game, it is definitely not. Premium items are ridiculously priced. It costs a fortune to even attempt to get some of the better items. Worst yet, controls are atrocious. Everything being connected to the touch screen causes so many issues. It is supposed to be that you swipe up or down to use items but the majority of the time you’ll use them just by simply turning left or right. The controls also lack precision. It is next to impossible to make a slight adjustment to your movement as opposed to a proper control stick.

Beyond this, the gameplay is repetitive. All you basically do is race against CPUs that will continuously cheat, outspeed and prioritize attacking the player. Yes, they’re flat out faster than you. The items also heavily favor them as it is 7 vs. 1. And the worst part of this is that YOU GET PUNISHED FOR LOSING! Yes, you have a player rank that goes up based on your position. Why would you PUNISH someone playing your game for something that is often out of their control? And they also expect you to also drive perfectly, get combos to complete missions, without them interfering! (Better get a lot of $$$$$ to increase the better items you can get while racing!!!!)

As someone who enjoyed the previous entries on the consoles, this is disgusting to see what has become of this franchise. My biggest regret is giving this game any sort of money.

I love this app and play this all the time. I really enjoy each tour and take my time on it trying to best my last event. Things are well thought out and it does justice to what a mariokart mobile game should be - but I have one thing I would enjoy very much. I think there needs to be a map category where you can see what maps you have characters for and which ones you don’t.

Currently, I have to go through every character one-by-one to check and see if I have someone that’s in the highest category for that stage (ie. when choosing characters they would be the only capable people of getting a ‘frenzy’). If I wanted to make sure I have any frenzy characters for a given stage, I need to go through and scroll/check every single character just to make sure I have a character prepared for that course. If this was reversibly searchable it would take much less time to find out if you need to purchase a character from the daily shop or when purchasing a bundle.

Everything else is really so fun and easy to use, I love the reward system in the game and even the challenge rewards. Keep up the good work Nintendo!

I’ve had a blast with Mario Kart Tour in my first 2 hours of playing it. Yes, there are some micro transactions in that game that are not necessary unless you are completely desperate for a character, kart, or glider, but I personally don’t care so it’s not a big deal. I’ve had more fun with this game than I normally do when playing any other Mario Kart, and that’s kind of surprising. Of course there is a limit to what you can do here, but it’s still very enjoyable. There are some faults though, like the fact it’s really easy, and I can usually get 1st place in one try. Then there’s the fact you start off with a character that is completely random, and when you wanna get something from the pipe it’s usually not a character, but even if it is it’s usually not one you want. The last one, is that I’m not a huge fan of the fact that you have to play it with your phone in vertical position because it kind of makes it harder to see things to your side. Some pros about this game are, the music is great, and very high quality for a free game. It can keep your attention for a few hours if you have nothing better to do. Also, it has a lot of Mario Kart courses that are in this free game which is kind of surprising. Alright, that’s all the time I got, I gotta get back to playing Mario Kart Tour.

This is by far one of the best mobile games ever created. First of all there are no ads even for free players. The gold version would be awesome if you have a couple extra bucks each month because it gives you an opportunity for more characters, karts, & gliders. And the selection of things is seemingly endless. There are SO MANY characters, karts, & gliders to win in the pipe. Challenges to keep up more motivation to play, leveling up all your stuff so even when you don’t get a new thing in the pipe you’re still leveling up your current items. They also have so many nostalgic courses and every once & a while will throw in some exclusive Mario Kart Tour courses.

This game is amazing. Literally the only two requests I have is to make the gyro steering have an option to turn the sensitivity up, when I am not drifting I like to tilt my phone to steer but it’s not nearly sensitive enough so I end up having to use the steer touch control in the bottom left corner.

Also, please bring back the Vancouver and the new rainbow road track, and maybe get a newer version of Bowser’s castle would be super awesome.

So I love MarioKart. I have it on my Nintendo Switch so I thought it would be fun to get it on my IPhone. So my first problem is, my game crashes like 90% of the time. I will be in the middle of a race and it will crash. It also crashes right after I finish a race and when it does that it doesn’t save my progress. My other problem is the rubies. They are SUPER hard to get, and when I finally get enough to do a pipe, I get something really bad/something I already have. I have like none high ends. And you can buy rubies, but it’s a crazy amount of money for just 5. And you can pay for high end karts/players but they are also like 40 DOLLARS for a pack. I can’t make you guys change the rubies thing, but PLEASE fix the crashing because I have a older phone and I’m not getting a new phone for MarioKart. All my other apps are fine.

UPDATE: The crashes have gotten worse. Also, what’s the problem with updates??? You have to update so often and it takes a long time to update just to play a game that always crashes. And am I the only one with horrible luck? My dad plays it and he has like 20 high ends so he gets lots of points. I have like 3 high ends!!! And theres soooooo many high ends to get and you have a horrible chance to get them! I also saw that you CAN get a FREE golden pipe. But thats if you finish all the races! And I cant get through even one race without it crashing! Help!

Left the game but later came back. I’m liking the game more however there’s some problems. So with this quarantine I have barely anything to do and this also is no different for everyone else. I suggest that the limit to coins and points should be removed because I don’t understand the point. People should be able to grind as much as they please especially when they are stuck at home. The gold pass is also in thinking and a lot of people can agree is stupid. It’s stupid because $5 a month is too much because your not getting too many benefits and it would have been understandable if it was permanent but it’s only for a month. At least try and do something to help us out because everyone is suffering and I’m sure there tons of people who are bored and depressed because they are stuck at home. Maybe if you can take advantage of this time and do something that’s going to get everyone’s attention and for a good idea, why not try and add Balloon battle and coin runners? I would hands down play a lot if those modes existed and a lot of other can agree! And if it’s multiplayer that makes it even better.

I love the game - rarely am I loyal to an app, but this one gives you so many options to achieve things (even without in game purchases) that it has kept me hooked for months.

I much prefer the single-player to multiplayer because I find the multiplayer laggy and frustrating. A lot of the time I’ll hit someone with a shell or something but there’s no crash time to catch up, so many of the items are rendered moot. I’ve seen a lot of the players also blip in and out in front of me, which makes it hard to use items as well as see a genuine representation of where everyone is on the track. I have a super strong wifi connection that works well with other apps, so I know it’s not that. It also puts a lot of stress on my phone and I have to stop playing after a few races so it doesn’t get too hot (although I do have an iPhone 8 so that might be my problem).

It’s also annoying that everyone plays as the same 1-2 characters when we all get the same special items, like boomerangs, and the game becomes more mayhem than anything else else. I know it’s a new feature and I feel like it will get better with time, but I figured I’d leave some feedback anyway in case the developers see it.

And yes I’ve downloaded all the updates and extra in-game downloading but I expect a game to start up in seconds, not hours lately *maybe’* I’d really like to get back into the game so if you can resolve this issue that would be great. When this game is working I will give it 5 stars but the technical difficulties are making me feel like I’m in 2002 again. Not 2020. I realize this is a difficult time in the world right now but it’s been happening far longer than that and only gotten worse and worse. Compared to when I first started playing, seems like the number of cups in each tour have gone down; and it takes forever for the next tour to come out, so it gets boring playing the same cups over and over.

In the latest tour, the last cup, the only way to get 4 or 5 stars is to have high end drivers/karts/gliders...that’s BS. I’ve fired the pipe at least 30 times during this latest tour and I’ve only ever gotten 1 high end and 1 super. So you either pay for more rubies to fire the pipe again or you just don’t get the stars. Trash.

Multiplayer is cool, but I’ve been booted out of so many multiplayer races which causes my ranking to lower, I didn’t choose to quit the race, I’m always connected to WiFi, so why should my ranking be affected, it wasn’t my fault.

Also, in multiplayer, I just can’t believe some of the things that happen..like how am I getting hit by something every 3 seconds, or how was I way ahead of the group one second, then last the next second. I don’t think this game matches you up with players who are on or close to the same ranking as you, even though it’ll say we’re all the same ranking. Always feels like there’s something off about multiplayer. Shady.

Definitely not getting any more of my actual money (canceled Gold Pass, spent max $40 for rubies). Just thinking about trying to level up makes my blood boil now, might just have to delete this app, no longer fun like it used to be.

Pop ups invade your game incessantly, making you watch the same animations time and again, wasting the same amount of time you spend playing the actual races. Its designed to keep you playing longer and not getting anywhere so that you make micro transactions that aren’t even worth it. Its straight luck ALL the time to complete a course ahead of the pack and with three stars because of the power ups. You can be a top notch racer but still get hit by a blue first place hunter or lightning and end up in dead last out of nowhere for absolutely no reason. If you don’t get multiple frenzies from that special character for each specific race (which is entirely luck based and their algorithm makes you play it dozens of times before you’ll get what you need) good luck getting those stars. Aside from that, the drift and steering controls only work about half the time. Go figure given how luck based the game to begin with. It’s a cheap and nasty phone game to keep customers pliant for their next “big release” which is usually a let down anyway, relying on old fans to bring in the new fans who will play the same tired old games that dont even work. I never fail to be disappointed by their products mostly because they never respond to the feedback with updates that fix the bugs. They just ignore it and go off the “5 stars” that avid fans give them in SPITE of poor quality gaming because they are avid fans. Shocker.

It’s been a while since I enjoyed a game like this on my phone, even as an Apple Arcade subscriber... I went ahead and ponied up for the Gold Pass about 1 month after starting Mario Kart Tour, and I’ve found that the value for Gold (Almost) made sense, you get access to a couple high level players, karts etc, and the extra loot from every gift box, as well as access to the 200cc courses, but that’s where the advantage stops.

If you ever want to ace these courses (5 Star) from this point forward, it’s not so much a matter of your “skill” in play, as much as it is for the advantage gained by high level players, karts and kites that you would only access from the Pipe. Which means you need Rubies and Rubies are expensive and hard to earn without those higher level players... also the frequency of high level “wins” for plays is ridiculous IMO, i have spent over 1000 rubies on the pipes so far and it just feels like you come up short.

This is why I chose to Cancel my Gold Pass, reset my profile and delete/uninstall Mario Kart Tour. Although I enjoyed the brief attempt at multi-player, I think I’ll stick to playing MK on my switch for the competitive feel.

Maybe I’ll circle back around, but for now, the juice is not worth the squeeze.

The game is ok and it’s addictive because of nostalgia and the gambling of the pipe (which has problems in its own but that’s not what this review is about) I’m a little disappointed in the multiplayer at the moment. I was surprised that the mechanic of only 3 or so characters could get 3 items and have a frenzy was still a thing. I think a better option would to give everyone three items but make the chances of having a frenzy higher for the characters that go along with the map. Second I know it’s still glitchy because it’s still in testing but the ones I’ve seen are items disappearing, “teleporting”, and freezing. I know since it’s online that much can’t be done about the freezing; but when the round starts I don’t understand why there’s a chance of being at the starting line for up to a minute waiting for a countdown. Everyone is already in the lobby and has chosen their carts why can’t the race start

Second part of my complaints

Why the limitations on coins and xp? I understand that they don’t want people to be op but three hundred coin limit per day is a little stingy especially when the store changes everyday and even gliders cost up to 500 coins alone. Also 80% of the time the store is just filled with items you already have ,and so is the pipe ,I don’t think I should be able to spend rubies and get over 3 duplicates especially since they are so hard to get

Love this game. I literally play every day. However, - like the many others who have mentioned in their reviews - it is difficult to obtain rubies, and when you do, the pipe does not reward great prizes - even with the gold pass! I spend money on the gold pass every month, and I feel like I should get more perks with it other than being able to race at 200 cc and getting a few boosts tickets. Who in their right mind would spend $40 just to get a red yoshi and a bunch of rubies???? As much as I want a red yoshi or a red bullet blaster, I couldn’t even fathom spending that much in order to obtain them. It’s like this, you go into a store, such as paper source (for the girly girls out there), or game stop? (for the guys???, sorry no clue what dudes like), and you see a product such as heart shaped balloons or valentine themed tea that you don’t NEED but would love to have because they’re hella cute; I am guessing you would be willing to spend money on these things if it were in a reasonable price range, yes? And this would probably be beneficial to the sellers as well, right? Except you are all but surprised to see these unnecessary but alluring products require nearly half your budget for the week. It’s lame, really. Unless you’re rich, or spending money unwisely, it’s not very realistic for us commoners.

I was pretty excited for this game to come out. Mario Kart is one of my favorite Nintendo series. Unfortunately, it’s hard to enjoy. I really only have fun with it one or two days every two weeks, since other than that cups only release once per day. I’m really not a fan of ranked cups, it’s a bit unfair when you’re against people who do the in-app purchases (which are WAY too overpriced). It’s always so hard and repetitive since you’re only playing three tracks over and over. And if you don’t get top row for everything, you’re kind of screwed. It’s especially annoying when you get to higher tiers and it’s way harder to progress, not to mention you go down if you get bottom 10 (which is way too many people, bottom 5 would make more sense). Unfortunately, it’s really the only practical way to get rubies. Tour gifts are way too slow and buying them is way too expensive. (Why the heck does the gold pass cost more than NSO?) To say something positive, it is pretty fun playing new cups and I like how we continuously get new tours. I also think bonus challenges are fun (except maybe smash small Dry bones and mega battles). I’ve been wanting them back in Mario Kart, and it’s cool to see them here. All in all, I feel like this app mostly just wastes my time and I kind of wish I’d never downloaded it. It also really makes me want Mario Kart 9. And it better be on the switch.

I really love having Mario cart on my phone but the hardest thing is finding a way to get rubies without buying them. I don’t pay for things in my app so it’s hard to get rubies to use the pipe or to play coin rush. Also you are limited to the amount of points you can get after races to help raise your car, glider, and driver. I only play a couple of races before I reach my limit and I still want to play but I can’t or my stuff will be cheated on points. I also don’t think there are enough races in each tour, if they can make a couple more for more experienced players or like another smaller tournament for the tiers I mean it would be more fun. They could limit the points for the other races but could keep the points for the tier races. I don’t pay for stuff in app, like I said, so when they make a pack that you can only pay for, and is impossible to get otherwise, it’s not fair for the players who’s parents or guardians, or even if there phone, won’t allow them to earn the cars, players, and gliders. One last thing I think they should make a multiplayer mode so they can connect with there friends or family it would make a great group game.I think they should make some improvements towards those things otherwise I think this game is really fun and helps pass time or is just entertaining.

This ios game can easily become well more expensive than just purchasing a Nintendo switch and Mario kart game for the console. In order to move forward in the game you have to collect stars. In order to get enough stars to move on you need the characters from the pipe and the odds of getting them are crazy low. Buying rubies will give you more turns to fire off the pipe, but they are insanely over-priced. To get all the characters you will need to win, you’ll need to spend~$20-$40 for the bundles or up to $70 for rubies *each* new tour to be able to gain enough points to win cup matches. Basically, it costs money to win, so anyone who can’t afford to buy the rubies/characters will ultimately have to settle for losing cup matches or try to get really lucky on the pipe (you can win first place all day, but if you don’t have enough to level up and get the new characters, you won’t earn enough points to move up).

The current Ice Tour is a great example. In the Rosalina Cup, you have to have a vanilla Mario to activate frenzy mode in the second race. Vanilla Mario costs $40. The point of the game is to win, so you want to get the most points. In order to get the points, you’ll need to activate frenzy mode. So again, unless you can afford to buy the new characters, you will lose and not move forward in the game after a certain point, even if you’re winning first place.

Edit: You made the game much worse. The players that I am going against have gotten higher points than me in the Tour Ranking System, which caused me to lose a tier last tour. I preferred the previous system — 3 tiers up for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and no tiers down. But the new system — only 1st place getting 3 tiers up — can get me to lose so many tiers that I’ll go back to Tier 19. And I understand that it gets harder, but now it’s too hard. Please change this and I’ll put it back to a four star.

Original: The game is fun and I have gotten addicted. If you see a person named iRxsesAreRed, that’s me, right there. However, I do not like the maximum coin and EXP amount. I end up getting the max in 30 minutes and it’s just annoying. I understand, but I like to grind a ton and it’s preventing me from doing that a lot. Maybe we should pay 100 coins to grind more, or just get rid of the maximum coin and EXP per day count. Change that and I’ll make it a five star. Actually, no, because that just means it’s perfect. Games are never perfect.

Edit: The price of the Gold Pass is cheap, in my opinion, but the character packages are too expensive. Also, I agree with some reviews, the cost of purchasing Rubies are too expensive. 2 Rubies should had been $0.99, not $3. That’s just a big cash-grab.

I waited to write this review until I was well into the game just to see what changes were initially made. I think the racing itself is awesome; cool karts, characters, gliders, etc... However, I think the limits on how many points and coins you can acquire each day is entirely too low. I can play for 30 minutes and reach this limit. It makes it very hard to achieve high points on items, which makes it hard to advance in the game. If you pay for a gold pass, there should be no limit to your daily points or coins. Additionally, I think that rubies are entirely too expensive (both real money & virtually) and they don’t necessarily guarantee good items from the pipes. I think that you should be able to purchase rubies with coins collected in the game & 48 rubies should not cost $27, especially since they don’t guarantee you’ll receive anything valuable to your game play. If the rubies were less expensive and had a higher chance of getting something good, I think that people would have more incentive to buy them!! If these improvements are made, I think a lot more people would play. I personally know people that played when the game first came out, but quickly left due to these issues. I hope the concerns raised by avid and loyal players are considered by Nintendo. ~Riley

Let me preface this by saying that I'm currently a Gold Pass holder and I've purchased deals in the store. It seems like people try to brush off F2P player's complaints and that's not fair because they're allowed to voice their complaints and they're actually legitimate issues. With that said, this game is definitely P2W. In other games, while spending money can accelerate your progress there's typically a way for F2P players to make the same progress. Usually it's involves having to grind longer and harder, but they can get there. This is not the case with MKT. Every time a new tour starts there are gifts locked behind the Gold Pass paywall. These gifts are incredibly important to progressing in the game, yet the only way to get them from the gifts is to pay money every month. How is that fair? Maybe it's a small price for some, but not for everyone. When those people get left behind when trying to rank up and can't progress what are they supposed to do? This is the literal definition of P2W. Now onto another big issue. As I write this a new tour started today. In the current ranked cup there's a track and the only top tier driver for that course is locked behind a $40 USD offer in the store. Seriously, unless you're willing to spend that much money to get that driver, you will never have the top tier driver for this course. This isn't right.

Game has the potential to be good. I love this game no lie but a few things that i don’t like about it. I don’t like that my store literally gives us the same stuff every week. Like they need to put other stuff in the store cause i see the SAME people every week. Also the pipeline is ok but there is no guarantee you’ll get anything gold and who wants to spend all that money on rubies ? No. Also half of the races to get a good score you have to have some of the legendary stuff but you have to hit the pipe in order to get it and again it isn’t guaranteed. Like this game is sooo Money hungry it’s ridiculous. I loved this game when it first came out but it’s starting to lose its fun because you gotta have Money to get good people. I usually beat all the cups anyway except for some because i wont have have either a good character, car, or glider because it had to be one from the pipe. I would rather them put them in the shop at times to instead of seein donkey Kong, Mario, peach, and yoshi every week which is so aggravating. I play it of course because it is a fun game don’t get my wrong but i just wish it wasn’t so money hungry and like they should come up with different ways to earn more of the legendary stuff instead of just hitting the pipe or getting two good items on the gold pass.

The gameplay is great in terms of visual and overall usability. However, the game is rigged worse than a casino slot machine. There are way too many factors other than good racing that determines the outcome of a race . I just quit paying the $4.99 just recently after having it since day one. I found that the store never really had anything good. Every now and the. You may see a character that you need but...not often. After a while, you start needing to collect duplicates for upgrades and you only see the duplicates every blue moon in the pipe....or they are outrageously overpriced. The algorithm is way too strict which means they are hoping you will pay an additional 20 to 40 dollars for a hand full of jewels to gamble at the pipe, a new character and some other crap. The game is clearly all about money and I don’t understand why. $4.99 per month is reasonable enough to be able to enjoy as much of the game as you are GOOD ENOUGH to experience. I should win characters by winning cups at a certain placement and/or tours of a certain tier for example. Too much is left up to chance or more money. They may bury this comment but this is not to bash the game. I still have it and I still play. I just don’t see a real incentive to continue to pay....🤷‍♂️

I feel like there should be some compensation for players who have been playing since the game came out originally tier 20 was the max, but now I have achieved tier 20 and have had it for the last 3 weeks or so but recently I got a challenge to make it to tier 30 I’m suppose to move up 3 tiers every time I get 1st yet these last 3 I have stayed in Tier 20 but this week I only got 4th which instead of the last few weeks when I played I got first, this tier the people I’m playing with are 6,000 points higher than me putting me in 4th and try as I might I won’t be able to move up 3 tiers because I couldn’t before, my friends who are the same tier I am are at 34,000 points and are in first in their tier while I’m at 33,000 and I am 4th where the top score is over 38,000

It just feels like the Tier system needs some fixes, I am a gold pass player and I know this game will be so much more fun with those bug fixes thank you for making my first mobile game I am addicted to.

Oh and I would appreciate if you took away Kart and Coin limits so I feel I can afford and level up to at least get pretty close to what all these other players are getting.

I love this game tbh, I play everyday max my exp gain and my coin gain every time, but the game needs more you see my family plays too and they are getting bored because there’s not enough rewards to help them out. They are new and I want to help them but u guys just made it even harder for them with the all the tours needing to do 5000 points when they don’t even have anything to help them out. Plus for us loyal players we are getting the same rewards like the ultra rare character (or legendary character) was the same as the first tour really made me mad. I got gold for items that I don’t have, not for items that we all have... all I’m asking is for u guys to give us hope that something big is coming a light for me to keep playing this game because after two or three more tours I might stop playing and never look back because it seems that all the things everyone is saying is that all u guys just want money... please help me believe that, that’s not true. I play this game EVERYDAY literally the only game that was respectable and honorable enough to be on my tablet and I'm dissapointed 😫. Nintendo had A GREAT MONEY Making game but idk if it's really making money lol why do I have to pay 2$ for 3 rubies #NotGoneHappen also after playing on the two week trial I was this close 👌🏽 to buying it until it said every month #NotGoneHappenAgain and I've never purchased ANYTHING in a game EVER... I say that to say this the prices are crackish and I'm sad because I love playing at 200cc!!! But playing at 200cc and having to go back to 150cc suuuuuuucks 😩 I was this close 👌🏽 to un-installing this game BUT I'm willing to give Nintendo a chance. I grew up on Mario Karts so I have high expectations for the 2019 version. Please put some respect on this game, give us an option to be able to play at 200cc when we reach a certain player level or have to purchase it with the rubies it takes a miracle to get, 5$ for 2 months gold pass, and please switch up the pipe prices because they are kind of crackish prizes too. Minor things! Oh and multilayer come on I thought this would have been on the game from the jump Fun Run even had that option. Booyah!!! I’m a huge Mario kart fan, so I was real excited when this came out! There is so many things, and when the Halloween tour came out, I was soooooo hyped that king Boo, FINALLY CAME!!!! It would be cool that you get to choose what high end thing you get if you pay for 45 rubies, but that’s just my two cents. Speaking of rubies, they are seriously hard to get, can you make it a little easier to get it? Or at least make the pipe draws cost less? It’s ok if you can’t, coins though, you can only get 300 per day and it costs around 12,000 to buy a high end from the shop. Can you make the max coins you can get at least 600?? It takes awhile to farm em, when all the cups are completed it feels like I’m waiting forever, I wish there was something else like a minigame where you are tryin to pop your opponent’s balloon. What about goombas? Mario’s most famous monster?? Or a carrage cart? That would be fun. Overall, AMAZING GAME, I RECOMMEND YOU TO PLAY INSTANTLY!!!!!!!!!! I’ve seen a lot of rants on this, one saying it was made for bots to win. But playing the real Mario kart, it wasn’t made so you could win, it was made to be a fair, fun game. This game does just that, it’s fair and fun, it’s not super easy to win but it’s not all that difficult to win either. It really is fair and fun, just like the original game, and I adore that. For this being the first version, it’s great, I’ve had no bugs while playing the game, and it’s been super fun. Of course the characters are bots, but for bots they actually function very well. They aren’t buggy and glitching out which in a lot of games they do, so that’s great! I don’t understand all this controversy I see, it’s as if everyone takes this game like a true world racing tournament. You aren’t the Daytona 500, it’s a game where you have fun. Everyone that says it’s bad because it’s difficult, a good game shouldn’t be super easy, it should be hard and you should learn to play it. Also you can mess around in the settings to adjust it to your play style, which I like. I’m not much of a mobile gamer but this is fun and stays interesting, so I’ll be playing it for a good while. Keep up the good work.

Game doesn’t want you to win and even if you get first place, the game will base you off of your performance. This game will do anything in its power to help make the “other real players” win. Why quote on quote? Well because in the tour mode you are not actually playing with real player, they are just computer players generated with real player names and load outs. As I was playing this game I noticed something that was very annoying, I would click the button that allows me to view behind me and when I would let go, it would change my controls from Manuel drift to standard driving. Also, in a race when I was right next to a computer player, I was focused in on trying to get ahead of this computer BUT the computer player just TELEPORTS? Ahead of me? Haha wow if that’s how this game is going to be, I am better of playing a Mario kart game that is actually fair. Two more things, the prices and the gold pass. The prices to purchase rubies are just wow. You mean to tell me that I have to pay two dollars for 3 rubies, not even enough for a ONE SHOT PIPE. Now the Gold pass. Seriously? I have to pay 5 dollars A MONTH for: 200cc and bonus awards and display badges? And that’s basically it, 200 cc which will probably have the computer players act impossible to beat with the way they are programmed unless you have the top load out for the race, the bonus awards aren’t too bad but golden display badges? Really? They don’t even look that good.

Don’t get me wrong with the title. I really enjoy this game. The controls are smooth (after getting used to them), the throwback tracks are super fun to play on, even the characters in the game are great picks (where’s waluigi and luigi tho?!). Anyways those aren’t why i gave this game 4 stars. The only reason i don’t enjoy this game as much is because there is no skill involved whatsoever. You can be great at past mario kart entry’s and beat every single cup on 150cc, mirror, 200cc, it really doesn’t matter the amount of skill you obtain when you start the game. The only thing that will get you a 1st place in this game is really really good RNG. Now, if you don’t know what RNG means, it stands for Random Number Generator. The gist of it is, (depending on what place you are in) you get a random item from the item boxes based on a random number picked by the game. When i said there is no skill involved, that’s not an understatement. The only thing that will win you races in this game is you depending on the games RNG to give you good items, and more importantly, you’re opponents getting bad items. Nintendo, if you are reading this, please in any way, shape, or form, PLEASE make this game not luck based and make it skill based in any way you possibly can. Over and out.

I’ve always loved MARIO cart so I want to make a few suggestions for this game. First you should add more of the old tracks like the raid now one railroad one the like snow one the penguin one all those good ones along with new ones as well. Also you should add that game on the wii where you have a team and you try to pop as many balloons as possible. Also you should add more games that you can play with friends as well. All I’m saying is if you add all the stuff you could possibly add to this game it will be literally the perfect game ever. Hopefully you read this and hopefully my suggestions were helpful! I feel that stuff you add to the app you should keep on it bc making the old tours go away is kinda stupid to me bc now you can’t do those races again and i like all the courses and I think you should just keep them on there and add things to it. I enjoy the game greatly, it’s a fun way to kill time and the graphics are awesome to see on an iPhone and not on a Switch or Wii-U. The concept is fair and I enjoy the gameplay. However, there are some thing that should be changed in my opinion. For example, there is a daily limit on how much you can upgrade your items. And another one I would like to stress is that as you progress, each level gets increasingly difficult to rack up points, thus obtain more stars to unlock more cups. To me, that just doesn’t make sense. The average points received on a good game (considering you got 1st place, drifted, jump boosts, fought your way to 1st, etc.) you would probably get around 4 to maybe 6 thousand points. But in the later cups, 6 thousand points barely gets you three stars, while in the before cups, you’re easily getting five stars. I just don’t see how it’s possible to get ten thousand points in a single 2-lap race, when getting points is capped daily. So each item, and each character can’t be leveled to the full potential because of the max variety, and the daily caps. If these things were to be fixed or tweaked somehow, I would easily give this a five star rating. This is such a good, unique mobile game but these issues are just roadblocks for me and whoever else plays the game.

Gonna keep it short. This game is lots of fun. But the controls are a bit janky.. and I don’t think you need the gold pass to have fun.. I didn’t even know this was coming out and I saw all the videos ranting about it before I even played it. I figured I’d give it a try thinking Corporate Commander was sure to have his hands on this one but I found out that it’s not really like that. Yes, locking the 200 cc mode behind the gold pass is a bit much but I personally normally play on 150 cc so this doesn’t affect me much. Also, just from the daily log in bonuses, playing the ranked mode, and completing challenges I’ve gotten enough Rubies or whatever they’re called, to do plenty of summons in game and I may have just gotten lucky but I’ve gotten pretty good pulls just off of those. Another thing people complain about is them basically “charging money for Mario” but after just a few short days of playing a few minutes here and their, you know like, on the toilet, dosing off to bed, in the waiting room, I had enough in game currency to just buy Mario off of the store. Anyway, this wasn’t exactly a short review. But I enjoy the game. It just has a few problems it needs to Iron out.

The initial released version of the game is decent, but there are several issues that make the game only 3 or 4 out of 5 stars. First, there is no way to allow you to decide if you want to steer regularly or to turn by drifting other than choosing Settings WHILE THE RACE IS STILL GOING and change the setting for manual steering and hope nothing happens while you do that. Second, when making very small changes in direction to straighten myself out I’ve frequently accidentally used items. Both of these issues could be resolved by changing the touch controls. I’d suggest having holding your finger on the screen should allow regular turning while a tap near the kart will allow drifting, and also having a tap away from the kart to use items. A third (minor) issue is not being able to slow down. I’ve had several cases where a Blue Shell is closing in when I’m barely in 1st and my only option to get in 2nd is to do a hard turn into a wall so the other kart gets hit instead.

Good things about the game is the very low cellular data usage when no Wi-Fi is available, the ability to auto use current items when you go through an item box so you get new items, and the great courses. I look forward to seeing the issues fixed so there will be nothing bad holding the game back.

So I’m pretty annoyed rn. I really like this game and it’s super fun but when there’s a bug in a game that totally takes away the ability to play it, it’s annoying as hell. It’s even more annoying when there’s an update for the game that addresses the bug that your game has and somehow still doesn’t fix it. I have the bug where the game becomes unplayable after I start transitioning to the main game menu after loading up the game. I load it up and it turns black to transition but it just stays black and doesn’t do anything. It sucked when it first happened but I knew they’d eventually fix it so I waited. “Luckily” a day later an update for the game rolls out dealing with the problem so I immediately download it and load up the game again. To my disappointment however, the game still had the exact same bug. It did give me the option to clear my data cache to help restart the game and prevent the game from crashing again but that didn’t work. I even went and deleted the game and redownloaded it as a last resort and still, nothing changed. I’ve tried looking online to see if there’s anything else I could do and I didn’t find anything If any developers are reading this please fix this or let me know if this is possibly having to do with something on my side of things because I’m getting really annoyed. And if anyone else knows how to fix this please let me know

This game was exciting the least being able to play it on your phone. It’s pretty much the same basic game it was from me being a kid, but there’s a couple issues that I find very, VERY annoying. As it comes to skill, I’d say I’m pretty good at drifting but, as it turns out from my experience, attempting to turn in such a way can get the character to stay in a turning animation, which annoys the crap out of me, I look at the top left corner of my screen as my character is STILL stuck in the turning animation, reading the words “7th place”, you kidding me right? I was just in 1st..It only gets worse...I like being in first, you’d probably be too, it’s fun to get a challenge here and there, trying to keep your place in 1st, but..you get bumped behind from the person in 2nd, all of a sudden you’re here waiting for your character to move, and it’s just staying there??? Your suddenly NOT in 1st, no, you’re in 4th, now 6th, and now you’re in last, and wait? That was the last lap too?? Okay... I have to win now, no exceptions...yess I’m in first again, there’s no stopping me this time..finally the last lap, I got this one in the bag.. oh shoot, a shells about to hit me, my character isn’t moving again! It’s literally, taking, its time.. wait what happened?? I was just in first?? No wait..I’m in last, again.. and everyone has already crossed the finish line..

The game is very fun, however I do find coin grinding to be a bit repetitive, only earning 50 gold per match. Also, New York is probably my least favorite map, making it very difficult for me to reach 5 stars, even though I play 150 cc every race or event I do. I don't have a driver that has more than 1 items slot,(there being only 4, all of which are above common[diddy kong, Bowser, Pauline, Mario with a suit])Before, I had a problem on this map in The Bowser cup, in which I grinded from level 4 to 12 on that map alone, taking me 3 days to eventually have rng side in my favor(I didn’t have the kart for x2-3 points, so being first on lap1 and 2, and reaching 1800 bonus points from random stuff to reach the 4,600 points I needed.) Overall, I am in a situation where 5 grand stars are half based on rng, hoping I get items instead of Mushrooms, and not getting hit AT ALL by other racers. I’ve got the drifting down, holding green shells and bananas for extra protection against red shells, and riding into other racers if they are riding me. Now its diddy kong cup, near situation except the goal is 5300 instead of 4600. And the characters this time are: Pauline, diddy kong, donkey kong, and mario with a suit. I have the highest tier cart for the level(x2 points) and a middle tier glider. However, I’m stuck with toad to chug through the race.

Mario Kart’s always fun, but this one’s the worst.

Why are all of Nintendo’s mobile games post-Super Mario Run so painful to play? You just want to play the game and have fun, but the game annoys you into wasting your money on what’s ultimately a garbage product. You just want to play as Mario, but you have to do this dumb gambling garbage that’s OUTLAWED IN CERTAIN COUNTRIES. Gee, I wonder why? You look at other games on the market and think “Sheesh, this game is not player friendly”, then you look at this game and wish you were playing something else instead.

It’s the little things about this game that annoy me most, such as the way the music was sped up—done in such a way to which the pitch increases along with the speed, the horrendously high scores you need to get in order to get 5 stars in what’s ultimately a luck-based match, etc on top of etc.

Online, TRUE online is the one thing that could’ve saved this game, and it’s coming, but why isn’t it just out now? Nintendo’s image isn’t looking too good. They were the good guys, the wholesome company. Now, the opposite is true. From the way they handled joycon drifting, to their mobile endeavors, this just isn’t right. It’s not the Nintendo I grew up with. This is EA levels of shady and detestable. If someone from Nintendo actual reads this message, GET SOME HELP. If any consumers are reading this, don’t waste your valuable time on this game. Play a legitimate Mario Kart, not this cheap knockoff.

Great graphics, sounds, and gameplay during races (a couple tweaks to allow turning and drifting without using motion controls would be nice however). As of now this game is a cash grab (I’ll get to this later), with the only “online” feature is to compete for the highest score in the one ranked cup that is opened. In this game the score is calculated based on how well you place, what karts/characters/gliders you use on a level to level basis, tricks, and item use. Other than tricks and placement in races, everything is dependent on your collection of parts and characters which give you various buffs in race, which all happen to be locked behind a loot box system that is the entire progression system. If you want to unlock or level up your characters and parts you use the pipe each costing 5 rubies, which paid for costs $2 for 3 rubies (bonus thrown in for bulk). The other option is the gold pass, this costs $5 a month, giving you a few more awards and the fastest game mode, 200cc. If you do the math that’s triple Nintendo switch online for a year that now has a Mario kart game for free, and the same amount for the huge amount of games that come with Apple’s streaming service. If this game wasn’t pay to win, then it would get 5 stars, otherwise it’s stuck where it is.

Okay first of all, this is NOT A PAY TO WIN game. I repeat. This is NOT A PAY TO WIN game. The game DOES NOT ask you for any money nor do you need to spend anything to get further in the game. I actually respect Nintendo for making the micro-transactions pricey to discourage paying your way through the game. Those who are complaining haven’t even played for a couple days so their complaints about controls and how hard the game is shows the little effort they put in. Which isn’t much. So again no money is needed. Not even to make a Nintendo account, which only take like 5 minutes to make. So stop complaining about the small things.

Second, the reason I gave it 4 stars instead 5 is because of the unplayable multiplayer. I have hope that the reason they are taking their time is because they are not just trying to make it against friends you add but other people around the world. I do have my worries though that the multiplayer will be asynchronous, meaning against AI but with multiplayer data. If that is so, then I’ll delete the game in a heartbeat because I’m tired of companies putting more thought into the money they want to make instead of making a quality multiplayer experience.

I have very high hopes for the game; though as I’ve seen the general amount of complaints and see them being mostly unfair. Many people complain about it playing vertical- but it’s honestly more accessible and something you can just quickly play with it being vertical- though it would be nice to see an option to flip your screen before the race, that’s no reason to completely disregard the game. Gameplay can be somewhat simplistic, but it’s fun and accessible to everyone: hardcore Mario kart fans and casual players alike, WHILE maintaining a competitive aspect and holding a skill gap as well. I’m looking forward to seeing multiplayer being released very soon, as in the menu there’s a button labeled “multiplayer” that says it’ll be added soon. Overall, this game is definitely worth your download, especially for a free app on your phone. Even though there’s a gold pass (which includes a two week free trial and is 5$/month) it doesn’t offer anything that would consider it pay2win, but supports Nintendo and also gives the player small benefits. Don’t go in expecting something like Mario kart from the switch translated straight to your phone, but it really feels at its core like a Mario kart game.

I do enjoy this game quite a bit. I’d even go as far as to say this is my favorite mobile game. But there needs to be improvement. For 1, why are the races only two laps long when the tracks are already pretty short? Mario Kart has pretty much always had three lap races and I’m sure adding one extra lap would make this all the bit better. 2, how come we got three baby characters, 3 Mario’s, 2 Peaches, and 2 Bowsers, but not Waluigi, Rosalina, Wario, and (most importantly) LUIGI!? I know the series has already had this problem, and hey, instead of Pink Gold Peach and Baby Rosalina

we got the return of Diddy Kong and Pauline making her first appearance in the series. But (instead of Waluigi being cut from Mario Kart 7) Nintendo has never taken out important characters like the ones I’ve mentioned and instead have more clones and Baby Characters. And 3, the one you’ve all been waiting for, the EA like micro transactions. You have to pay $5 per month for a membership. That’s more than a Nintendo Switch membership! However, this game is still kind of fun. The controls feel tight, the tracks are fun, and the game looks surprisingly good for mobile. It just had to be bogged down by the bad stuff. Overall, I like this game, it just needs improvements to make it better.

I have been playing Mario kart since the wii (I’m 16) and I’m disappointed in the people playing around me, you can tell they don’t know what Mario kart is and this is there first go around that’s fine if it’s your first Mario kart what’s not fine it the devs making everything so in your face like the start boost timing they tell you what it is in Mario kart wii I had to find that crap out on my own also the drifting control setting is cancer the only way to turn normally is to move you whole phone this is ok in other racing games where you play on landscape but you have to play portrait (as of my understanding) and the game feels so heavy and floaty like a brick trying to figure skate that the one race I tired drift on I got 8th and found my self on multiple occasions having my phone at a 90 degree angle to the side I wanted to turn making follow up turns near impossible and smart steering while being a toggle should be on at all times to make the game even remotely fun or playable. Currently I am first on kuppa cup tier one my name is Jesus if you see me know I have problems with the game but will probably keep playing because despite my problems the game runs great and I am having fun playing. Also I have no idea how the hell I ranked so high on the kuppa cup.

Few things I found wrong here after playing for awhile. The number of different maps is limited, as each cup just makes a random combination choosing from a selection of maybe 10-12 of them. Secondly, just the option to pay for a “gold pass” (5$ monthly) is annoying to me. I hate in game subscriptions that just make you better than other players, it takes the fun out of the grind. Plus, limiting the amount you can level up riders, carts, and gliders in one day makes it seem like a clear money grab as the game forces you to pay for extra coins, gems, gold pass, etc. lastly, the obvious attempt at deceiving the players making it seem like they’re playing online when in reality it’s bots with creative names is a bit sketchy. I’ve seen tons of reviewers on the App Store alone actually believing that they are playing against real players when they enter a cup. This is a big deal because once you find out everything is just computer AI, it gets repetitive and boring fast. I really enjoy the way they condensed the game-play to fit into the quick style of phone games, I appreciate the grind aspect even if it seems to be cornering me into paying, and I hope the multiplayer that comes out on Saturday can redeem the other poor qualities of Mario Kart Tour. For now though, 3/5 is about the most you can give it.

When I first saw that nintendo was releasing Mario kart on mobile is the best news I’ve heard so far as in mobile games couldn’t get any better. Don’t get me wrong the gameplay of the game is really fun the best experience also with the main menu and the shop all those features are really nice for. Than when I come to find out I have to upgrade the karts and the gliders and characters It’s alright I don’t have a problem with it. On what I do is that it would be better if we where allowed to get a little more coins than we do same thing with the gems just feels like I’m not getting enough for the items in the shop. Another thing is I wish there weren’t that many limits to stuff and wish we could get a little more rewards in the game like items to upgrade and more coins, same with the gems. Just hope these things would happen in later updates oh and another thing that would make the game a little better don’t end up making the game be a “pay to win game” that would make the experience even better. Hopefully more characters are added in the game and karts, gliders, maps and the multiplayer hope it’s like the same experience like the Nintendo switch but besides that great game lots of fun something really new.!!!

From start up app is completely user friendly, easy to navigate as well as get started even if you don’t have a Nintendo profile. Once in the game it looks amazing, all the great memories of childhood come flooding back and you are reunited with your inner child. My only complaint is game play, as it is streamless and easy to use I feel it is lacking in both immersion as well as accuracy. Immersion, I feel playing the game in wide screen and giving the player a true left and right as well as throttle and break controls, or keep auto throttle and move weapon usage and drift on buttons, could even set it up for double tap in the direction of the turn to initiated drift or put turning on joystick but swiping left and right. Swiping left and right seems to have the vehicle constantly needing a direction input due to a lack of getting back on center too slowly or something of that nature. Game play, I feel if the above is changed it will completely improve game play and bring competitiveness forefront as well as the want to continue to play and advance through the game. Just my two pennies. Those are the only reasons I give the game 4 out of 5. Everything else in the game is amazing but those areas are lacking, playing on wide screen and a change to driving controls would be highly encouraged.

This game was super hyped up when it first got announced and I was excited to play it when it was originally supposed to come out over the summer. For a game that got delayed by several months, it definitely still has some issues and could use improvement. First of all, the controls are pretty horrible. In drift mode, you are practically forced to drift through the entire race because whenever you’re tapping on the screen you start to drift, which means you can’t go straight unless you’re not tapping the screen, making it extremely hard to control. On the other hand, in regular mode you can hardly make it around turns. I was excited to try out the gyro controls, only to find out that they’re even worse than the manual controls. The gyro mode is SUPER delayed and you have to turn your phone really far to get it to even move. The game as a whole is just really slow, especially when racing, which takes away the exhilarating factor of a racing game. I’m hope that they either fix the controls or just add an in-game circle pad altogether. Also, the graphics are great, but I’d assume that’s why the game is so slow, so hopefully that is sped up a bit in the future as well. As for now, the game isn’t all to entertaining considering its speed and serious lack of decent controls, but it’s Mario Kart mobile nonetheless so at least that’s a start.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my game more than three times, and while I enjoyed a good while where my problem did not happen and I was racing joyously, the game has been continuously showing me a message at startup that I must update my game to continue playing. There are two buttons below this message. The first one, which says,”How to Update” takes me to what I’d assume would be an FAQ or tutorial if it didn’t display an error message in its place. The second, aptly named,”Check Store”, takes you to - you guessed it - the App Store. Here you would expect to find an update ready to be installed, however the button usually used as the update button only says,”open”, signaling that there is indeed no update available. My friends and colleagues have also confirmed that their copies of the game are working, leading me to continue to wonder why I cannot play a game I have been excited for since it’s announcement. I cannot stress enough how amazing this game is to play and how it is truly amazing to have this caliper of a title on my phone. However, this problem puts a damper on every aspect of the fun of this game, since I cannot even access the title screen. If this problem were to be fixed, my rating would no doubt raise to five stars, but as of right now my opinion and rating of this title sits at a lowly two out of five.

I understand Nintendo wanted to go for the whole “play with one hand” type of thing but the game could be sooooo much better. For one I like the Wii version of mario kart a thousand times better...if its possible to create a controller for the wii on regular smart phones so that I can still play my Wii that would be nice so keep that into consideration. Anothee thing WHY IS THERE NO WIRELESS MULTIPLAYER!???!!!! I want to compete against my friends not against the computer and against some random players, thats what made mario kart, mario kart. You could play by yourself or compete against friends when needed. In reality I was being nice by giving it three stars, its not a bad game but it really could be better, the app really wont last long if you dont get the multiplayer option and then can the controls not be soooo simple because a landscape option for the phone would be ideal so that we can be in control of our speeds and even have a mobile device tilting option to steer because right now everything feels like its been figured out for us and takes away the players control over the game which is not the authetic mario kart because we chose our speed and we chose how to steer and we chose how to use items and this mobile app takes all of that away. Please please please please do better because we all know that you can.
