Slow
The device works well should you manage to get music on it. The manufacturer claims 50 songs per 5-10 min. More like 50 per 5-10 hours and that only occurs if you keep the phone active. If it locks sync stops. The app makes the device pretty much useless. It is an expensive piece of junk.

I’ve had this device for less than half a week and it’s already malfunctioning. The app won’t connect to the device, it won’t charge properly, and it doesn’t keep its charge at all! It’s super annoying to use, and it’s mostly because of the app and tech support doesn’t provide real solutions.

Ratings are Accurate
Bought this as a simple workaround for a camping trip without a phone. Syncing to a music provider was relatively simple but uploading 200 songs required five hours of connectivity to power and Bluetooth. Unacceptable. App interface is not intuitive; playlist that supposedly loaded was only partially loaded the next day (?) and I needed to create two logins to manage connectivity to Bluetooth speakers and the device. Not a fan.

Great BUT needs improvement
Honestly, it works really well and doesn’t require Wi-Fi. Even the battery is decent. But honestly really frustrating to update and sometimes it just randomly says “the 30 day authorization” thing has expired, which is frustrating.

Good idea, bad app
This app is super unintuitive. Trying to figure out how to sync music is really difficult, none of the interactions really makes sense, and for whatever reason not all the playlists show up. I mean, it works…. Mostly? Once you figure out how to sync the music, the music is indeed synced to the player. However, it’s always three or four songs short of the whole playlist for some reason.

Doesn’t work
Why is it that I had a simple mp3 player as a kid and this little device is such a bother!!! There are so many bugs. Half the time my kids can’t get it to work and then we spend an entire week troubleshooting, resetting, re-syncing and trying to communicate with the mighty team for support. Why?! Why can’t we just download music like the old days and play it whenever we want without a stupid phone? Figure it out Mighty! And you will have such a strong following from all the families that are trying to be screen safe for their kids!!!!

I wanted to use this product!
When I was setting up the mighty it said that I needed a premium Spotify account and in my opinion I would like to use this without having to pay extra for a premium account and would just like to listen to music without needing a phone, iPad, etc.

Works well, meets expectations!
My son had to go on a school trip without a phone and wanted to being an mp3 player, and this worked as an awesome alternative! Use is very straightforward and easy to understand, and has many robust functions! 5 stars!

Really wanted (want!) to use this product
I’ve had a mighty for 3-4 years, and for a while could get it to work, connect, sync without too much trouble (though the sound tended to be scratchy, and connecting Bluetooth was always a delicate, 2-minute long process).
After a 6ish months not using, I came back around and now cannot connect my AirPods (model a2564) with my Mighty (which I think is the oldest model) anymore. These two devices used to be able to connect. I’ve gone through all of the support help center page instructions.
Please help! I really want to use this product.

Instead of making more mighty products, how about making the ones that you’ve already sold usable? 99% of the time it won’t connect and won’t sync. Then by some miracle, if and when it does, all hope is lost after 30 days. It’s inane and insane

Overpromises, underperforms
Christmas gift for one of the kids. Simple device to play music so we can delay a phone for a little longer. It promises ease of syncing music from Spotify or Amazon music accounts. Tried with both. The device keeps timing out while syncing and does not download music. Lots of wasted time and troubleshooting to no effect. After more than two days of effort, it’s clear this is an amateurish attempt to provide a simple service. Poor product. Poor software. Surprising that it struggles with this function in 2024 when this technology is at this stage of development and widely available. Strongly recommend against purchasing.

Don’t waist your time
I was attracted to this app/player because of the integration with Spotify. It’s been 24 hours after purchase, and the synchronization with my playlists (one with 70 songs, another just 35 songs) still hasn’t synch’d yet. The App is very basic and lacks functionality like only showing you playlists you want to synchronize versus my whole library. There should be a “synch” all option for all playlists if I wanted to be very quick. I’m just so disappointed, and I haven’t been able to workout yet with the player!

Terrible at updating playlists
The idea of automatic updates or even adding play lists after initial set up is a disaster with this app. You get one upload and then you’re stuck deleting the app every time you want to change up your playlist. It’s a massive hassle for a product that costs as much as it does.

I am so fed up with this app. I bought two of these for my young kids (9-11 years old) and it doesn’t stay synced. To connect is a complete hassle. When it works and it’s great, but after Spotify sync lapses it’s terrible. They need to fix the glitch’s for the amount of money this costs.

The mighty is the worst option for screenless music listening. It is impossible to pair with your phone, heats up, and there is zero customer support. You should just go to Best Buy and get a simple 20$ mp3 player

Buggy at best
The concept is awesome, but lacking in execution. I constantly have issues with the app pairing to the device and one time a firmware update broke it completely. If you buy more than one and have more than one Spotify account, it’s a nightmare to manage both from one phone. You have to constantly log out and go through the whole setup again. Unfortunately, I bought 3 of these not knowing how awful it would be.

Mighty works great but app not so much
I took a good amount of trial and error to finally sync music to my mighty. It’s not very user friendly, as most of the features require you to ‘guess and check’ in a weird sort of way to get it to work. For example, there was a software update, but it didn’t notify me when opening the app so my music wouldn’t sync. The WiFi network I was on wasn’t connecting for some reason even though it had a check mark next to it so I connected to a different one which enabled the update to come up and finally allowed me to sync. The music syncing is a very slow and inconvenient process, it seems like it isn’t limited by your internet connection but rather the app and the device itself. Once I did get music onto it, it was quite nice and the connection was fine as long as it wasn’t blocked by much. All in all, worth the sacrifice to get music away from my phone but definitely needs some work.

Firmware fail
The app won’t let me do anything because there is a popup that can’t be dismissed but it fails to download every time I try. It’s been over 30 days so Spotify just stopped and my device is a brick.

Waste of time and money
What an absolute waste of money.
I bought this product for my child who I am trying to keep as screen free as possible. The mighty was supposed to be just that. However, it only worked for a little while until it didn’t, then the app wouldn’t refresh it and then started crashing on me.

Absolute disgrace and should issue refunds
Bought this as a way for our young boy to listen to music without carrying a tablet around. The concept makes sense, but the app doesn’t work at all and now we’re left with a brick of a device that is useless. I’m going to ask for a refund, but the creators of this device should either fix the app or conduct a blanket recall for all devices since they are completely dependent on the app which is useless.

Not worth it at all
I have never had so many issues with an app and a device in my life. The concept is awesome, the execution fails miserably. There are constant errors and crashes with syncing, connecting, etc…. So frustrating and feels like a huge waste of time and money

Apple mighty app awful
If I could give it 0 stars I would. Super disappointed with this. Was the big bday present for my 10 yo- never worked once. Customer service very responsive and tried to help but no suggestions helped. The thing wouldn’t even do a factory reset. Just kept freezing. And yes I had perfect WiFi connection. So bummed out.

Playlists won’t sync or remain empty
The app doesn’t work at all. Every playlist that ‘syncs’ is always empty, despite waiting forever for it to progress to 100%. However, most times it won’t sync at all and either freezes at 0% or fails randomly after 45min or so. I’ve done the updates, tried a factory reset, multiple devices, and even exchanged the Mighty thinking it must be defective. It was the Christmas gift my daughter was most looking forward to and has been a huge letdown. Wish I’d listened to the reviews.

Doing it wrong?
My mighty worked for the first week and then I couldn’t refresh the music on my playlist. I went to the page with all the playlists and tapped on the one that I had downloaded onto the Mighty but the app kicked me out and crashed. So I removed the playlist from my Mighty to see if it would refresh when I downloaded it again. I tapped on the playlist and it kicked me out again so now I have no music on my Mighty. I don’t know if it needs to be on a certain Wi-Fi or if I just didn’t follow the (in my opinion vague) instructions right. It said to connect the Mighty to a Wi-Fi network but I do not know how to do that. I don’t know if it means the app, which doesn’t have a connect to Wi-Fi button in settings, or the Mighty device. I feel sad. :(

Missing Amazon Music
I got the Mighty 3 because it is advertised as having Amazon Music; it is advertised on the box.

We were unable to sync your songs
It is unable to sync any of my songs. I just get an error message “we were unable to sync some of your songs”. I have an engineering degree and work in consumer electronics product development. Everything is set up and connected, firmware is updated, so it should have worked. This product concept is neat, but the execution is a failure. Returning the Mighty 3 to the retailer.

Takes forever and nothing ever works
I download the music, it takes an hour, only one playlist downloads and 3 songs download on the others. I refresh them individually. 0% download after 30 min. Hours and multiple refreshes later everything finally downloads. Works fine after that.

Bought this a year ago and had problems. After figuring it out, it worked well. Now, the mighty refuses to connect to the wifi. I restarted the mighty, restarted my phone, then reinstalled the app and it still doesn't work.

Mighty needs to do better
Kkcb’s review is spot on. Definitely needs more battery life. The fact that it has to be plugged in to sync is a pain when I haven’t used it in a while and I just get to the gym. Garmin devices don’t need to be resync’d. The form factor also needs to be made smaller and the plug placement for headphones is really poor for anyone that likes to clip it to their waste. Fully gets in the way of any ab workout. It’d be easy to put in a swivel clip or make it rotatable. Apple definitely won the design for this type of device and it’s a bummer they aren’t making the shuffle iPod anymore

Never had this much difficulty…
Hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had setting up, connecting, and trying to sync a playlist to a device (after 2 days, I’m still unable to sync a playlist to this device). I’ve charged and reset this thing multiple times, have had to reconnect it to the app every single time because the app is unable to remember the device I just connected and once I do finally get the thing to connect, it won’t sync any the playlist. I can see my playlist, hit the little plus next to it, but it immediately fails to sync (no messages telling me why of course), but this thing honestly isn’t worth the time or hassle and would not recommend either the device or app to anyone.

Idea- great, execution - alright
Being able to run without my phone is a game changer. Mighty’s pause/play, skip, volume, shuffle, and playlist change controls are great additions. Syncing playlists and updating playlists is a challenge, but if you can deal with the finicky app, it’s totally worth it.

Love this! Took it to sleep away and it worked incredibly! Only issues are I cannot figure out shuffle play and after 3 weeks it no longer played music and required a WiFi connection for a refresh. It was the last day however so that didn’t matter

AMAZING!
I love Mighty! It has made me get off of my device and brings back memories! I love the small, stylish design and that it can be placed or clipped on your shirt or pants. It’s overall great! Highly recommended for overnight camp when you cannot bring a screen for music! Most of the bad reviews are about AirPods. Here’s a few easy steps: 1. Go on the Mighty app and make sure your WiFi is connected. 2. Go on the syncing page where you can sync Bluetooth acessories. 3. Take your AirPods and hold down the button on the back of the AirPod Case. 4. A white light will start blinking and that shows that it is in pairing. 5. Keep holding down the AirPods close to your device. 6. While on the syncing page, swipe DOWN, not up. Keep swiping it down until your AirPods show up about halfway down the page. 7. Click the plus on the right of the tab which says your AirPods, and then it should show a green check mark. 8. Now click the plus on your Mighty and it will connect. 9. Put in your AirPods and you will hear a chime. 10. Start jammin’ and have fun!

So many years; so many problems
I was a early adopter and I’ve paid the price; every time the app is updated or the firmware is updated I go through a 1-2 week period of intensive troubleshooting because nothing works anymore and generally the first 2-3 fixes suggested by support make matters worse. After that it works fine until the system forces another update; then I gotta go through all this again. It was excusable years ago when this gizmo first launched, but now is just lame. Love the product but it’s way passed time for the team to make software that actually works.

Overall, a fail
The concept is awesome, the execution is from 1999. Syncing the player to the app is clunky and takes FOREVER. Shuffle never works...you want to go back a song and hear it again? Nope. Some random song plays instead, and then you can’t even go forward and back to where you were. And the battery life is a joke. Don’t even think about taking it out for a half marathon...let alone a marathon. I ran a marathon in 2008 with the Apple iPod and it lasted the whole way. Welcome to 2020 and the Mighty technology doesn’t lasts two hours. These are basic technical features that are fixable. It almost feels like this was some kid’s side project for school and he’s managing it on the side.

Works but could use some redesign
The app worked great getting my device synced up and ready to go with Bluetooth headphones. My main problem here is that several areas of the app have white text on a white background. Sometimes it’s back on black. Really hard to use. Luckily, I was able to guess through some things but I could see this being a problem for other users. Please fix!

If you want to use this with airpods, look for something else.
The mighty simply isn’t compatible with airpods. I’ve tried countless times to reset, pair, forget the device, etc - and it still cannot connect to my airpods. It worked the first two times, without help from the app. I’m not sure how, but they connected without using the app. Now it simply doesn’t connect, and I wouldn’t recommend trying this device with airpods.
