Worst Site. Worst App. Worst Search.

Failure to profit. Again and again and again. Handing $ to competition. Barrels of it. Endless Cloudflare purgatory. To notify CF of the issue you have to consent to them reading data of your phone. If a horrible site and app aren’t enough, this is the last straw. Tried searching Willett when I somehow got into the site. A few came up in the results. But not Willett 8 year. Knowing there were supposed to be a few bottles in the store, and on an absurd whim, which if successful, would prove how bad the site is, I searched Willett 8. It came up. I can’t write what I think about this. But it’s reflective of how bad and disfunctional this site is. And why do I have to put in an address so BevMo can tell me what store is close? I want to know if the bottle is in the system. If it’s in any nearby stores. I know where I am. I can tell where the stores are relative to me. Have you ever used your competitors’ sites? One “Totally” big chain has this nailed down. SO easy to dump truckloads of money their way.

Unable to Add Address

Trying to create and account and use app. Can’t get the ball rolling because I’m unable to set a location. After clicking“Enter Address”, in the top right corner, and entering any address in the field, anything entered is removed upon clicking “go” on keyboard. The pink/red “confirm” button never turns red and I never see a drop down after entering a password.

The app is poorly designed and not user-friendly. While it offers an option to cancel an order, the interface is so poorly implemented that the menu obstructs the cancel button, leaving no way to access it. This is a basic usability failure. Same for mobile site.

Meh, Good For Scrolling

Idk what happened with this latest update but all my favorites are gone, I have to constantly login and the search doesn’t work well. The app seems pretty useless for me now. With my favorites being gone from the app, I just go across town to Total Wine and pick up from their. I had my favorites mirrored in that app and depending on my laziness, would order from BevMo or Total Wine. It’s easier to stick w Total Wine now. I have all my items and favorites in the app and their prices are not nearly as high. Total Wine for the win.

mostly works, but has issues.

the app will not let me add a tip and I don’t carry cash.
search is wonky at best.
don’t outsource your tech to the lowest common bidders. look at all of the negative reviews. most people give an app only one chance.
lastly, the $10 delivery fee is a bit steep. by the time you add that in plus tip, i might as well go to my local liquor store. where do you want me and others to go?
the app and process could be improved upon immensely which would raise revenue significantly.
if you need someone to take over the tech roll, let me know.

Postal code?

On a desktop and through the app, it tells me "Sorry we cannot find the tax rates based on your postal code." Not sure where to fix this issue or why it can't find a tax rate for a store it lists in the website. Either way, I now can't order ahead to have items ready to pickup when I get to the store.

Medium convenience; bush league UI/UX

This app has two baffling flaws: 1) No ability to filter based on whether items are in stock; 2) Search is case sensitive so the app gives zero results for “Whiskey,” for instance, but will show actual results for “whiskey.”
iPhones capitalize the first word in a search or sentence by default. Why would anyone design the app this way

Minimally functional

It gets the job done, for the most part, but inelegant and not as good as the competition’s app. Can’t seem to find a way to add the account to my wallet. If there’s a way, it’s definitely not straightforward. The page flows are too tedious. When I’m signed onto the app, and I want to access certain areas of my account, it forces me out of the app and into a web page, where I have to sign in again, after I’ve already signed into the app. That May for some kind of security reason, but it’s kludgy. I’ve never found this app elegant. But it is what it is.

First off when I order beer and it tells me that my order will arrive in a certain timeframe I expect to have that order delivered within that timeframe not a day later when you order beer and it says delivery within 2 hours it should be there at those 2 hours no later giving 1 star for now until you guys deliver the times you say your going to deliver

The search never works properly or it sends you to their website which is just as bad. If you click on the bogo 5 cent icon for hard liquor it just takes you to all the spirits listing. Filter doesn’t even have an option for the 5 cent sale.

The app logged me out, refuses to acknowledge my password, and their reset process refuses to acknowledge my account - even though it recognizes my email address. I am unable to reset my password.

It’s alright

Search feature doesn’t work. I know that you sell Don Julio! In app purchases doesn’t mean you actually purchased the bottle or store employees are shady. You pick but my confirmed purchase of Blantons mysteriously wasn’t there when I arrived to pick it up a few hours later. Rewards in you account do not work or link to the app when you make a purchase. Does a decent job of letting you search inventory store to store but that’s about it.

When you try to create an account so you can use the app it keeps telling you that date of birth is a required field and won’t finish the process. Problem is there is no DOB field where you can input the information! Only a check mark stating you are 21. Even with that checked it wants me to input DOB info which is impossible!! Long time customer.

This app has never worked right. Current version You have to really drill down to find your rewards points which I was able to do the other day. It showed I was just short of attaining a reward. Shopped 3 days ago, earned my reward (email confirmation) and now 3days later the rewards page on the app is blank. No points, no coupons, no offers. Nada. I guess I’ll have to print my reward coupon. So much for having an app on my phone.

Don’t bother

The only app that requires me to sign in every freaking time I open it. So I don’t. I’m writing this before I delete it.
I like to browse, rather than go in for something specific. That requires effective and intuitive filter and sort tools. These tools are available, but there are too many levels. And for some reason, some things which are available will not show up in a filtered search. It’s faster for me to get out my laptop and browse the website.
If you know exactly what you want, and/or you want to see what’s on sale, this might be more useful. But if you like to browse, this app is one that may have more hoops than you’re willing to jump through.

Horrible app that causes too much frustration!

This app is the worst. It logs you out constantly when you are trying to make a purchase, forgets which Bevmo you are shopping at, then gives you incorrect inventory on top of all that! I placed an order yesterday for pickup, the order finally goes through and then I get a call this morning stating that they no longer have the product. The app still shows they have 9 four packs of the beer, and I’m now told they actually don’t have any. What good is an app that gives you bad info when we are TRYING to spend money at your business?!?!?

Oh boy. I think they were a little drunk when they made this app.
Everything sort of works but there are so many glitches! One time you put your address and it says outside delivery area, another time it’s okay. Hard to find previously ordered or searched for items. Payments system is cumbersome. Cant edit order details once order completed - have to cancel and totally redo everything !
But if you are patient, after a couple of tries you can finally place that order and get your delivery and BevMo does have the best selection and pricing so worth it in the end.

Payment problems / search across store

It took multiple attempts to make my order go through, as the payment gateway kept timing out. Finally it did go through but the payment page was in the tiniest font possible. I also wish it was possible in the app to search for hard to find products across their multiple stores instead of a trial by error method of going store to store to look for certain products.

The mobile app is average but the payment interface is horrible. Need to build a better mobile payment interface. It makes no sense to have the mobile app utilize a desktop web payment system.

The app isn’t functional

The app doesn’t work half of the time! I love BevMo but the functionality of the app is very much lacking. You can’t click on things and the payment section is so so bad. I almost gave up on placing a pickup order because I had to put in my payment info 3-4 times(I lost count). When putting in payment information, the app will zoom in but then you aren’t able to zoom back out to move onto another section to input other information. It needs an upgrade

Overall layout good but payment process terrible

So the overall navigation of the app is pretty good, it’s pretty easy to navigate and it’s pretty responsive and it’s pretty well-laid out but the process of paying is absolutely terrible they use an outside source that requires you to put all of your credit card information every time and there is no possible way to use PayPal, it doesn’t even respond to automatic input of credit card information which is already saved in my phone. To be honest, there have been many many times where I just didn’t order from BevMo because I just didn’t have the time to put in the credit card information or I didn’t have my credit card with me so I just close out of the app and got my liquor from somewhere else.

Inventory in my store has rarely precise (esp. with glassware, tools, and wine), and I’m left checking the store anyway ... so why use the app??
Some mobile orders have gone well, so that’s nice and hence the 3 stars.

Love BevMo, Not The App

The app is extremely glitchy. The filter feature does not work. Whatever you select does not change the search results. The fact that it does not use Apple Pay, PayPal and other easy ways to pay that are standard anywhere else is frustrating. When you pay by credit card, the page you are directed to is not mobile responsive. You are better off doing this on your tablet or computer...

Limited selection, don't want to take your money

The stores stock more than the app allows you to buy. I had to checkout 5 times before the order was complete. The payment window uses a font so small it can't be read. Resizing the text causes that part of the window to become large but the window is not scrollable back to the other fields. Transactions fail and then you need to retry them. Slow.

I often get orders with fewer items since they were out of stock even though there was stock online, which is a bummer when the fixed cost of the delivery fee and tip to the driver is there.
Search doesn’t always find things and sometime the app gets confused about if you are logged in or not. Also can’t change stores for delivery even though another store with more inventory is almost the same distance away.

The app is fine - the payeeze part isn’t

The only online purchasing choice is the ironically named payeeze.
After selecting it I was happy to see an Apple Pay option. But when I tried to use Apple Pay it defaulted to a card I didn’t want to use instead of my default Apple Pay card and would not let me choose a different card. The only option was to add a card.
Figuring it was a quirk of the interface I re-added what should have been my default Apple Pay card. The app told me that card is already in my wallet. “Duh! So why can’t I select it?”
So I cancelled attempting to use Apple Pay. When I selected debit or credit card from the payeeze page, nothing happened. I had to quit the entire transaction and start again including resetting the driver’s tip.
I ended up manually adding the debit card in the payeeze interface.

Always find something new to try along with old favorites. Staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. For example, today, Brent helped us at the check out. And another wonderful gentleman retrieved a case of wine for me. Excellent service!!

Apple Pay doesn’t work!!! Need to work on making checking out easier!

It will ask me to add a card, then when I enter my credit card info, it says the card is already in my Apple wallet! And it won’t pull the card from my wallet to use for Apple Pay!
Can anyone help with this??? It’s very frustrating as I order a lot using the app, and since there’s no one-click ordering or none of my info defaults in the checkout area, I have to manually type in all my info EVERY TIME!

Too Much Work

I downloaded this app during the quarantine since curbside was the only option. I would like to continue to use it for connivence, but it is not very intuitive. My biggest complaint is reordering items should be much simpler than it is. When you select the “reorder” tab, the first thing that comes up are items I’ve never ordered. The second tab is past orders, but instead of pictures of items I’ve ordered, I see an order number and status. Once you hunt through that and find the items ordered, the only option is to add the entire order to the cart. So I did that figuring I’d edit the items in the cart, but that wasn’t an option either. If you want me to buy from you, instead of the grocery store, or Target, you’ve got to make it easy.

Great app

The app is good, the only thing you guys need to do is that we can put our card on the wallet instead of opening the app and try to find my card. Sometimes I can’t open the app because of my signal to low, if it was in my wallet it would be way faster!!

Ripped Me Off; No Way to Report

I ordered from here, the driver brought the wrong stuff, then just laughed about it and did not mention coming back. I called the store and they said “I know what he did, sorry” then just stopped talking. After a couple hours I called again and they said it was still sitting there. I asked if I could pick it up and they said “yea but you’ll still be charged a delivery fee”. In fact, I ALSO paid a tip. The app has no contact or complaint option listed. Someone should contact me about a refund. I won’t hold my breath.

Nice redesign, terrible eCommerce

The new design is really good. But they’ve kept the jenky Payeezy checkout. So you get popped out of the app and into a 1990’s era payment screen to type all your account info each time you place an order.
A lot of good work’s gone into the new design, so the developers must be really embarrassed that they’re forced to use that for checkout.
It seems like decision-makers at BevMo either don’t use their own app for purchases (so they don’t realize it’s bad) or don’t use other apps for purchases (so they don’t know how it should be).
The main point of the app is to make purchases. And until they modernize the actual purchase process, the app is functional but falls short.

Poor quality app functioning

I tried to order something off the app and it kept popping up with an error so I gave up and chose another app to order from, but then all of the sudden I was charged and sent the order that I thought was never processed after already ordering from somewhere else. It’s not cool for an app to tell me something didn’t go through and then all the sudden process it without my direct knowledge. This app kept popping up with all kinds of errors and was slow and I’m upset that it would tell me that my order didn’t go through and then decide to process it an hour later.

Can’t create account

I’d love to give this app a meaningful review, but I can’t creat an online account despite already having a BevMo membership. I get “A communication error occurred. Please validate fields and try again.” All fields check out, nothing empty. This feels like a bug, but if it isn’t then y’all need better UX for sorting out whatever is wrong. Happens on website too, so not in the clear there. SERIOUSLY HAMPERING MY PLANS!!!
Update: finally able to sign up for an account, only to end up navigating circles around checkout. On the website, navigating to checkout removes everything from cart. The app doesn’t purge my cart, but when I enter my shipping address it decides then (contrary to what it says in numerous places throughout the site/app) that it doesn’t ship to DC. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH YOUR DIGITAL TEAM?!?!

I love your guys app. It’s easy to find drinks and select a pickup time for to go orders. BUT... for the love of alcohol, please improve your checkout experience. The fact that I have to enter my name, address, credit card, etc. each time is a pain in the you know what. Will change to 5 stars when that happens :) Love y’all!

Wow.

It takes a bit of work to not think this edge-case through, as it’s an obvious one.
If you go through an order at 12:59, select a pickup time for 2:00-3:00, complete the slow Payzee process—easily one of the worst payment gateways I’ve seen in a while—and are approved, you’ll head back to the app ... which will tell you you’ve selected an invalid pickup time.
“Oh, we’ve gone over the hour and they need more than an hour to process. No worries. I’ll pick 2:15.”
Do so ... and then the app tells you the order has been charged already.
I wonder if Total Wine has these issues? I dunno, but I’m already out $140 at BevMo today and am being told to just charge again and It Will Work This Time, Really (TM), so I may as well go down the road and try my luck there. They’ll maybe even use the payment gateway that BevMo used to use, where I could tell it, “just use my iPhone Wallet,” and it said, “no worries.”

Definitely a step backwards

The recent update that removed Apple Pay has made this app not as user friendly. The shopping party of app is ok. Checkout is poor though. On multiple occasions I pick a time to pick up, enter card info, receive text from credit card that it was charged; only to have app state that I need to pick a new time. The cart is still full, like transaction didn’t happen. Dumb.

Errors left and right.

I ordered via app and had three different cards fail. I finally had to call in and place the order by phone. Funny how it almost forces you to get the app when you’re on the site and then it fails. Pretty frustrating putting in your card’s numbers multiple times only to have them erased after unexplained “errors”.

Pickup Times - What’s the point?

Selected a few 1 hour window and I arrived in that window, only to wait there for 45 minutes. Over and over asked “What’s your name?” and “What’s your order?”, only adding insult to injury each time asked and each time people arriving behind me received their orders before mine. Why even have a window to select if the order isn’t going to be ready or started until after you arrive?

Worthless

I placed a pickup order using the ap. I put in my credit card info and submitted for payment. All credit card information was cleared from the screen after submitting and wanted me to reenter it. I got an alert on my phone that they processed the payment for the order. Got no order confirmation and all items remained in my cart. They billed me for my order, but didn’t complete the order. Bevmo will not respond to my requests for help or support.

Stay on the site the app does not apply the offers

Nothing more frustrating than even having the offers in the app but it won’t apply them. Had this also from SMS offers. Use the website it saves you a lot.
The second recent change is it no longer a picks up your card from your wallet and you have to input all the card data again

Doesn’t seem to correctly link to account data.

Having used the barcode of my account via the physical card the app, showing the same account number doesn’t seem connected to what I’m getting as email offers. Here’s a serous backend disconnect with this app.
That one cannot even bring up ones BevMo card with the app I store because the stores are faraday cages doesn’t help ( the card barcode in the app should get loaded in when in the network and then cached and NOT require it be fetched on demand at the register when the app is opened. )
The design used is a fail for now (nov 2019)

Anniversary Stella Rosa order

Well it’s our anniversary and I can’t be driving and walking around much do to a 10 mm herniated discs in my back. Ordering my husbands favorite moscato online at BevMo, made it SO easy! Wishing for better selection

The sales and discounts BevMo! gives are fabulous
Their prices are high though generally. Like $6 , $10 , sometimes $22 dollars more than other stores. Also their selection is not much. And I wish that their app would show you other stores if the one you shop at doesn’t have what you’re looking for. For instance I was looking for the new Booker’s Batch and my store didn’t have it but the app couldn’t show me other nearby stores that do. My store was getting the Booker’s Batch but now they don’t get the newest Batch. What gives?

Don’t get it?

I have shopped at BevMo for years and been a ClubBev member, so I thought having the app would make sense. Unless you plan to order online, the app serves no point. You can’t check your points only see past purchases. Also their option to give feedback doesn’t allow that but instead opens a survey that created. So basically they’re asking me questions instead of answering some of mine

My BevMo in West Los Angeles

I have the best experience every time I go to the W LA BevMo. From Regina to Matt and the lovely ladies, whose name is escaping me right now, they are the real deal! Authenticly Kind and super helpful. They are more than five stars and I will only shop at this BevMo, because of the kind of service.

Clunky, several bugs

Overall the app works but is clunky and it needs improvement. Today I had to delete it and reinstall because items were stuck in my shopping cart. Couldn’t remove them because item not available. No kidding, I knew inventory had changed and the wine was not available but I still couldn’t remove the bottles from cart

BevMo app

5 stars. User should be able to save items in cart for later purchase though, it takes time to find them and if you don’t want to buy them right away there’s no place to store them.
