I bought the disc without previewing the album, but the fact that Stevie Wonder took part is what made me buy it. All songs sound like some stupid pop song. Definitely didn't expect that from Snoop Dogg.

If you're looking for snoops classic rap like doggystyle or tha doggfather this is not for you. This album is straight funk. If you're looking for something to just chill to and smoke a blunt I'd pick it up

Man, this album was just what I needed. So, so good. The very first track, California Roll, featuring Stevey Wonder is an instant classic. Awake is just amazingly catchy, perhaps my favorite track. This is an album with almost no explicit lyrics, although almost every song talks about weed, which one would expect from a Snoop album. Just get it. It’s the freaking bomb.

This album is FUNKY!! It's a shame it took me so long to sit down and listen to it. A fun, and fresh album. Pharrell does his thing and you can tell this is a genuine Neptunes produced album. But the trio of Snoop, Pharrell, and Charie Wilson is unmatched. Bush has the Snoop Dogg of tracks like "Beautiful" "Let's Get Blown" "Signs" and "Sexual Eruption." Definitely a fun album, worth my of listen.

This album is cold man. We haven't had music flowing through speakers like this in a good 10 plus years. Barely any vulgarities. Just good Rythm and Gangsta and less gangsta for sure. Snoop isn't the top of the top but he is a legend and he brought us another legendary album here. I'm sick of the drake and future esq type rapping especially that thugger/migos bs. Thanks Snoop

I've been a snoop dog fan since his freestyle tapes talking about Poly apartments in Long Beach. I grew up on gangsta rap and still have a passion for it. Snoop's ability to switch his game up sometime would leave me to question is he really the god father of west coast gangsta rap. Because I wanted him to continue to keep it gangsta but when he would flipped the script and changed his style up like he did on The Last Meal Album track # 17 ( Leave Me Alone). I thought Dam! this is cold. I would wonder if he would do a whole CD with him flowing in that style. I thought it was genius of him and loved that song. Well many albums later I finally got my wish. Bush is a nice easy to listen to album that has a smooth flow throughout the entire cd. I like it and I realized that we have both grown up and that snoop is a musical genius. I didn't know what to expect when I listened to the snippets but I kept enjoying one after another, and finally had to buy the whole cd. This is a cool sounding Snoop that I really enjoy and I will be bumping Bush for a while. One word come to mind when I listen to this cd and it's GROOVY in a good way.👍

This is what I've been waiting for! Bush and Compton show artistic growth that most artist can't afford to develop. These albums sound like NOW, they are both retro and futurist. Thanks Snoop, Pharrell, Stevie, and Uncle Charlie! I have California Rolls on funking repeat for 12 times already. The whole album is refreshing and worth multiple listens.buy it!

Great material. Just surprised he didn't write one damned song. Da f u q? This is all Pharrell and Calvin. Glad they knocked it out of the park and gave people a little somethin' different though. If anyone wonders why this album is a bit unique, it's because of the writer's and producers this time around.

Snoop is sexy asf and I've always loved him. This album is different from most of his others tho. Songs feature icons such as Gwen Stefani, Stevie Wonder, and Charlie Wilson. California Roll is my favorite. Pharrell does the main vocals, Stevie does background and harmonica, and Snoop raps. But it's less of that gangster rap - more of a "cool vibes" type of rap. I also like Peaches N Cream. They played that song on my radio forever! It's laid-back and a good song to dance to. I can't even AHAKDNEKSBELEKPDLEBEJEJCENSLEOEGJSKLAJ 🔥🔥💦💦💦❤️ he's bæ asf!

Coming in to this album I had mixed feeling considering his past few but I'll be honest I was completely shocked with this one. It is not a great album but it is Snoop once again branching off into different types of music. This album with the exception of about two songs is a 60-70's sounding funk masterpiece. I will say however that the album is quite short as it only has 10 songs much like the classic "illmatic", which in my opinion isn't exactly a bad thing. I mean you get roughly 41 minutes of a journey here and it can usually be quite enjoyable to just listen to the whole album rather than just a few song at a time. All in all I got to say that this album really surprised me and is definitely one of the best releases this year, btw chuuch is on the move cause ol uncle Snoop is back, let's just hope he delivers one last hip-hop classic before his career comes to an end.

this is perhaps Snoop's best body of work since Doggystyle. Snoop has morphed into several characters throughout his musical career. But this Snoop is by far the best one yet. for all you “OG’s” that think Snoop is supposed to make Doggystyle over and over again for his whole career - break out of the bubble! This is an artist who has never put himself in a box, from his album collabs with Dam Funk to his Jamaican incarnation with Diplo, the guy just does what he wants. Some people are gonna like some of it and some people are gonna want him to keep regurgitating the same sound over and over. If you don’t like this one, go buy the myriad of music that sounds like Snoop’s old sound - there are plenty of other artists still doing it.

Don't got it no more!

Snoop Dogg has comeback in a big way! Just when you think the Dogfather can't learn a new trick, he surprises us all with this new reinvention of his style and music. Far removed from the musings of Gangsta life and pimpin, Snoop takes us on a ride of his evolution. It is fair to say the Snoop we get on BUSH is the synergy of Doggy Dog and Snoop Lion, a much wiser and controled approach to musical vision and personal evolution but with same ol Snoop swagg that is often imitated but never duplicated or faded. This is not a rap album, and nor should it be Just because its a Snoop Dogg album. This is simply a Snoop Dogg album that is possibly the most sincere collection and expression of who Snoop is a person and an artist. The production is masterful and impeccable throughout courtesy of the immortal Pharrell Williams. The only throw away track that doesn't particularly add to the depth or enjoyment of this new body of work is the song "Edibles" which sounds more like a by the numbers album filler. Every other song on the album takes you on a ride with Snoop to places we haven't been before with him. The opening trak "California Roll" embodies the spirit of the album and once played a couple of times becomes ingrained in your head and heart. Its the voyage of a person who has controled and tempered his tumultuous youth and harsh environment, transcended it completely in fact to embrace the simple things in life that bring joy but never forgetting where he came from for a second. We may not all relate to Snoops's life, but the music touches a place in the soul that we can all relate to for overcoming the unneccessary trivialities of life with a clear vision of who we are, what makes us happy and how we "Roll". This is a Snoop album that may recieve criticism early on for its departure from typical Snoop formula but in time it will be revered as a masterful classic and portrait of what the higher evolution of an artist looks like. I know they never like to do it the same way twice, but as far as I'm concerned I hope Snoop and Pharrell continue making collaborative albums like this because this is one journey I don't want to end yet. This is an outstanding album, a susccesful evolution of style and genre change by an artist and worth the purchase!

This is some feel good music. I get some critics saying he's wack because he ain't doing raw gangster rap but he's a millionaire stoner living the good life. He had to evolve.
That being said this album really feels like a throwback. This is some funky fresh Snoop Dogg/ Pharrell jams. It's an entire album with the vibe of "beautiful" from over a decade ago. I dig it.

Always Evolving, Thankfully.

THEK

2015-05-12
So after a second listen to the full album here, I’m really liking it. Perfect heading into the Summer here in 2015. It’s not Doggystyle or R&G. In fact, Peaches N Cream has the most rapping of any of the tracks as far as I can tell. Lots of singing, lots of guest vocals, lots of Pharrell. California Roll is set to be an anthem and as I listen to the album, even as writing this review, it’s just getting better.
I’m sure this album will bring up a lot of “I want crazy Skateboard P back” or “Snoop’s gone soft (again)” since it’s so different as is clearly an R&B/Funk album. For those people, you can get that stuff here in iTunes as well. I for one can recite every word off Doggystyle... I can actually hear it play in my head without turning it on. Gangster rap peaked 20 years ago, it’s done. So I’m down for something new.
Hoping for double headline tour.

Track one is all you need.

Off top, musically this album is amazing. For everyone wanting Snoop to recreate Doggystyle again and again over the past 22 years, just go listen to it. This album might be better suited to grown folks with a real musical taste, not junkies chasing the "gangsta" sound that Snoop is already the king of. Also, I recommend listening to this album in the car, windows down on sunny days. It will fit the mood perfectly. Pharrell brings great production to this piece, although I won't be surprised if a lawsuit arises due to the similarity between the originals and some of the beats on here, but all is well. Also, I'm not sure how anyone could possibly not agree with the abundant appearance of Charlie Wilson on the album. Along with Stevie Wonder and the other fantastic guests, this album is the best funk sound of 2015. Love it or leave it alone. One.
