Why are you missing so many good albums of Midnite? RasMek Peace? And 20 others? Anthropology? Lion out of Zion?

Great album! Every Midnite album has a different feel. This one, with tracks like Check Ya Self and Sed Way, will get your head a bobbin and your feet a weavin!

The phase/flange effect used throughout this album makes it sound like it is playing from the bottom of a gold and purple mountain lake. (How's that for a hippie review!)

I'm a big fan of Midnite and all of their stuff is a must for the roots style reggae fan but Cipheraw is their best work yet. From start to finish the groove flows on and on. If you like late 70's to early 80's steamy roots reggae, this album will transport you straight to the dark jungle of Jamaica in a flash. Also, if Midnite comes through your town, check them out. They are a must see.
