This album was cool for about s week when it came out because it was different. Everyone saying that hardcore metal fans will love this have no idea what hardcore metal is.

For 16 years I have loved this album. This stuff rocks my socks. Awesome music!

We need more bands like Kittie in the world. The instruments sound great, and the lead singer can hit the high notes and the growls like a champ. There's so much anger, it's delicious!

Spit by Kittie while nothing like their current sound, is a staple in any collection from the "Millennial Era" (1997-2002). The song "Brackish" is by far the most well known from this album. It's also a definitive song to represent rock music in the late 90's. Other great tracks include, "Charlotte", "Paperdoll", and "Choke". If you love Industrial Rock, or Nu Metal - you'll love this album. (Other albums you might like: "Wither, Blister, Burn + Peel" by Stabbing Westward, "Synthetic Division" by Crossbreed, and "Tonight The Stars Revolt" by Powerman 5000)

Kittie has gotten harder in recent albums, walls of jericho way harder... For a chick singer she rips the mic off the stand with her vocals!

I like a majority of the songs on this album. In my opinion its probably Kittie's best though her other albums are good too except I found Funeral for Yesterday a little boring but besides that this is a pretty good band.

If you're a fan of Hardcore/Metal you should put all of your misconceptions and preconceived notions about Kittie aside and give this album a chance. The songs and beats on Spit are infectious and will be stuck in your head for hours. This album is definitely something different, not the generic over polished Metalcore that they've become known for in recent years. That said the album has a raw sound that a lot of modern music doesn't have... I suppose that could be a negative thing to some people, but to me it's kind of refreshing. Kittie gets a lot of unnecessary crap for being an all girl band in a "man's genre" and because of their age (they were all around 16 when spit was released and some of the songs including Brackish were written when Morgan was 13), but honestly if the haters gave their early work a chance instead of just joining the crowd when someone bashes them I'm sure their opinion would change. If you're a fan of the genre you should buy the album and listen to it with an open mind, I'm sure you'll like it.

I watched these fine ladies live and they tore it up. Spit was new on the market and the girl with the grumble background vocals on do you think, was simply fine.

i'd like to address the fact that, this music is good, but it's not "sooo heavy". all i've read about in the reviews is how rediculously hardcore metal these girls are. it's not heavy. if you want real metal put on some meshuggah.

My only complaint about this band is the.... "writing style" of the women in the band. Overly sexist, in my honest opinion. The music itself is incredibly brilliant, and I could listen to it all day long if it was possible. The vocals were very nice. She has a great clean voice, and her scream is very unique. As a male, I really don't like hearing "men are swine" in the song Spit. This is my only complaint. I am all for female rights, just not demeaning men. Good CD, overall. If you don't mind lyrics that are strongly feministic and if you love metal, pick up this CD. Absolutely brilliant.

Hardcore Metal isn't my favorite, but Kittie is a high light of the genre. The singer has a beautiful voice and an amazingly scary scream. All these songs will make you want to Mosh in your seat.

This is one of the craziest metal cds i own. Kittie is AMAZING!

my uncle bought this album and gave it to me i had heard of kittie before but didn't expect this i knew they were metal but was very impressed with this after hearing this i left hawthorne heights and silverstein and went to cannibal corpse, kittie, Aborted my favorite album!!!!!(from kittie)

The album cover itunes has featured is the ORIGINAL lineup of Kittie. The girl with the blonde hair, Jennifer Calendar, left the band just before they made it big. Falon was friends with a girl, Talena Atfield, who played bass and she ended up replacing Jennifer. The band had to re-record all the songs with Talena and make a whole new album cover because Jennifer was no longer there. Also, the original recording of Paperdoll was sung by Jennifer Calendar and when she left, Morgan had to re-record it.

ok...most people have said that ''Spit'' was Kittie's worst album...i have to greatly disagree. This CD is one of the best metal albums i have purchased. And you should also remeber that when the album came out these girls were only 15 and 17 years old! They have so much talent..but personaly, they went downhill from the EP Safe. Until The End is ok but not the best. They need to keep the same band members in my opinion. But Kittie is definitly one of my favorites you will LOVE!!! ;)

I'm sorry, but while I have nothing against this particular genre of music, there is something very wrong with Kittie. First of all, their album is called Spit. Second of all, the song "paperdoll" is nothing more than a woman screaming profainities really loudly and repeating "stay away from me" over and over. I am not surprised if I have nightmares tonight because of the gruesome noise I was forced to listen to during the day. While you may not agree with my opinion, if you are a sane person, please DO NOT buy this album. IT IS CALLED SPIT!! AHHHH!

Nothing beats Kittie's all-girl-heavy-metal-crazy-moshing-headbanging...-ness. =] This is absolutely their best CD without a doubt.

This is a good cd but if you are a first time Kittie listener I HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT YOU DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS CD FIRST. Again this is a good cd BUT keep in mind this was Kitties first album and they have evolved so much as a band now. If your a first time listener I suggest you check out Until The End first =)

I have all of kittie's CDs and I can't wait for their new one that is comming out on the 20 but until then this is their best cd and i hope they have many more to come.

This is by far the best Kittie album! Not to mention most of the original members of this group. With awsome lyrics and catchy guitar riffs, this album is filled with creativity. The vocals are raw and shattering. It isn't like the Kittie now. It developed its own style. Eventually, Kittie lost 2 of its original members and fell into that generic scream metal. Oh well. I love this album!
