It is very hard to argue the fact that Wonder What's Next is not the best album released by Chevelle. Featuring one of their greatest hits "The Red," along with, in my opinion, the greatest line-up of songs from Chevelle. With songs like, "Family System," "Comfortable Liar," "Foreit," the list goes on! This album stays consistent with their sound and style, along with amazing tracks and will keep your interest. Definitely worth getting if you are a first-time listener of this amazing band!

Trudging metal! This album vaulted Chevelle. Tracks like Family System, Comfortable Liar, The Red, and Don't Fake This rock so hard! I also really like An Evening with el Diablo. Great album!!!

After being a fan of the band for some time now; I finally managed to purchase this CD and was promptly blown away. From the very first track (Family System) It is impossible to deny the raw power this band possess. Comfortable Liar chugs along like a lumbering unstoppable behemouth. Closure is so moving ( I could actually feel Sam's pain through his vocals) it brings me to tears every time I hear it. When you have the fortune to hear music that grabs you deep inside and simply won't let go; you know you have stumbled across something special. I can't say enough goos things about this CD. A must have for anyone who loves music.

I love Chevelle but this is not my favorite cd by them. They could've done better and they did with the rest if their albums. Don't let this be a gauge on whether or not you will like them.

Best Chevelle Album Ever.

These are the amazing songs that formed them into the miracle that turned into Chevelle.
Here are the ratings:
Family System-11/10- An amazing album opener. Couldn't kick it off in a better way. Strongest member of the song: Pete, but Sam also does some wicked stuff in this song.
Comfortable Liar-9.5/10- It's good, but the vocals don't live up to the rest of the song. Strongest member of the song: Joe (The bass in this song is amazing) and Sam (It's a tie).
Send The Pain Below-10/10- Definitely one of my favorites in the album. I think it's the best song in terms of vocals. Strongest member of the song: Pete is just amazing.
Closure-9.5/10- A good song, but the lyrics and vocals sort of notch it down. Strongest member of the song: Pete is great in this song, but Sam is just as great.
The Red-12/10- This is my favorite song on the album, the one that got me into Chevelle. Also the song that brought Chevelle into the scene. Strongest member of the song: As the best song on the album, I think all members are tied for the best.
Wonder What's Next-10/10- Not my favorite vocally, but I love the riffs. Strongest member of the song: Sam
Don't Fake This-9.5/10- Would be 10/10, but the chorus could be improved. I like how it gradually progresses in to a harder rock song. Strongest member of the song: Joe and Sam.
Forfeit-10/10- This song has amazing riffs and amazing vocals. I love it. Strongest member of the song: Joe (That bass drops HARD)
Grab Thy Hand-9.5/10- Killer song! It could be better, but it's pretty awesome as it is. It also sounds pretty cool live. Strongest member of the song: Sam and Joe
An Evening With el Diablo-10/10- Great riffs, vocals are good, and this is one of my favorite songs on the album. Strongest member of the song: Joe, but Pete's vocals/guitar and Sam's beast drumming help the song out a lot.
One Lonely Visitor-10/10- One of the best acoustic songs I've ever heard. Strongest member of the song: Pete (There's really no other option).
Until You're Reformed-9.5/10- It's good, but it has some weird vocals. I really like the guitar in this song though. But it has, like a 15 second fade out. Strongest member of the song: A tie within the band.
(High) Visibility, Black Boys on Mopeds, and It's No Good-9.5/10- Great songs, and I love Chevelle's covers of them. It's No Good sounds better when it's by Chevelle (And the drums are sick in that song)! Strongest member of the song: For (High) Visibility, it's Joe. For Black Boys on Mopeds, it's Pete. For It's No Good, it's Sam (HE IS AWESOME IN THIS SONG!).
One of the best albums I've ever heard. The standout is The Red, of course, which is the first song I ever heard by Chevelle. This is one of my favorite albums ever made.
I think that Pete's strongest song on the album is Send the Pain Below, Joe's being An Evening With el Diablo, and Sam's being It's No Good (All of these ignoring The Red).
Album Grade: A+

If you only have to buy one Chevelle album in your life, make sure it's this one. As soon as you hear the opening lyrics to Family System, "I'm tired of your open mouth crawling inside my skin" you'll know you're in for the musical experience of a lifetime. I am a huge fan of these guys and all of their albums are great, but this one seems to have a little extra edge on every track. Don't miss out on this album, you won't regret it.

Wonder What's Next is really powerful and really cool. If you don't want to buy the whole album and are just looking for a kick-a** song, buy "Wonder What's Next"!!

I cant get enough of this album. Love every song on here and this is the album that got me into Chevelle in the first place. It has a perfect blend of darkness mixed with some light moments through the album. If your a fan of Chevelle's other work or are new to the band, i highly recommend this album.

Personally, I think they are the best modern rock band of the 2000's. No other band in the same genre comes close to the song writing ability of Pete and the boys. If you have come here for The Red or Send the Pain Below, do yourself a favor and also get An Evening With El Diablo and Closure. Also recommend Sleep Apnea from their newest album, and Still Running from Vitamin R.
Chevelle has enough great songs to fill two full CD's, so I guess if you buy full albums you won't be disappointed.

My favorite Album of all, and totally blown away!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this album! It's the heavy side of Chevelle, and let me tell you, "THIS IS WHAT CHEVELLE IS KNOWN FOR!" There's no need to explain, theres no need to listen to the songs, theres no need to look at the price! JUST BUY THE ALBUM!!!! My favorite song on this album, jsuk, is Comfortable Liar!!!! Chevelle, is on my top ten singers who can scream/growl! with Solution .45 being at the top of that list, but thats not important. Just buy the album already! AHHHHHH! My favorite song on this album is playing on my itunes. =D, YAAAAAYYYY!!!!!

I don't really like "The Red", but "Wonder what's next" is sick! The song reminds me of "whisky hotel", "second sun", and "of their own accord" from call of duty: modern warfare 2 all put together. if chevelle made a music video of "wonder what's next", I hope they put scenes from these missions. I also like "Family system" and "forfeit".

Great Hard Rock Album

I'd call myself an avid rock fan, and Chevelle's Wonder What's Next is one of the better albums I've had the pleasure to listen to. To be honest, I am not a large fan of most mainstream rock acts, but Chevelle is not just another mainstream rock band. Every song on WWN is in your face, catchy and awesome. While Chevelle will never impress from a technical stand point (hard to do when you only have one guitarist in the band and he is the lead singer) but their passion and energy should surely capture your attention. Most people have heard of The Red and Send the Pain Below, but there is so much more on this album than those two songs. In fact, despite one or two weaker tracks, WWN is full of great songs to rock out to. Wonder What's Next is the first major label release from Chevelle, but I believe its the best album they've released. Saying that, most of their stuff is very good! Also, they put on a ****ing sickkkkk live show.
Recommended: Family System, Comfortable Liar, Closure, The Red, Don't Fake This, An Evening With El Diablo

I bought this CD for the song "The Red" way back when I wasn't into screaming much. I chuckle to admit that the album didn't appeal to me much at first, but boy did it grow on me, wonderfully. This is easily their best album as they seem to have hit a wonderful medium between hard-rock and instrumental riffs. In my opinion, no album, before or after this has quite added up. My personal favorites are 'Comfortable Liar,' 'Send the Pain Below,' 'Don't Fake This' and 'An Evening with El Diablo.'

I never even heard of Chevelle until I heard The Red on the local radio station. I was very impressed and right out and got the CD before I even knew what iTunes or and iPod was. I fell in love with the album the first time I heard it. I didn't have to listen to it a few times before it started to grab on me. The only songs I erased from iTunes because I don't really care for are Grab Thy Hand (even though I enjoy it live) and the title track, Wonder What's Next. I even enjoyed the little acoustic jam they got going on at the end (which is actually Track #11 on this deluxe edition). It sounds like a song people would sing around a bonfire on a camping trip, LOL
Oh and Until You're Reformed is from The Daredevil Soundtrack, not The Punisher Soundtack. Whoever wrote that other review doesn't know what the heck they're talking about. The Chevelle song from The Punisher Soundtrack is Still Running from the album This Type of Thinking Could Do Us In. People should think before they write a review.
BYE!!

This album was already awesome...

But with the addition of three studio covers, two of which were released on the Japanease import of the cd, this album is even better! "(High) Visibility" is a Helmet cover that ends up being one of the coolest songs on the album. Same thing with "It's No Good", only this song is a Depesch Mode cover. And finally, "Black Boys On Mopeds" was originally written by Sinnead O' Connor and Chevelle's singer did an amazing job of covering a female's voice.
Now, for the original tracks. The covers weren't the only tracks they added to this album. "Until You're Reformed" from The Punisher soundtrack is also here, which is actually one of Chevelle's most clever songs to date. The singles "The Red" and "Send the Pain Below" are ideal starters, but here are the standouts in my opinion: "Family System", "Comfortable Liar", "Closure", "Until You're Reformed", and "An Evening With el Diablo". Oh, and "Grab Thy Hand" is an excellant song to rock out to.
