It’s stereotypical country music. Chad talks about beer and sex and his voice is down there with Cardi B as being the most annoying, ear grating thing I’ve ever listened to. Also all of the melodies sound the same, and Chad is trying so hard to sound cool and hip but fails so miserably.

The only decent song was I Miss You, and that was because my Dad played that in his car when I was little.

TL;DR Chad tries acting like a Chad, but comes off as a whiny incel punk

I know I'm not getting the answer because of how many reviews this album got but how do ALL Nickelback songs sound the same? (Not to be against the haters)

Im a country music guy but i love this band.

This is where Nickelback began to falter. The flaws are obvious, but at least the songs are kinda listenable. Not as much as their earlier works, but it won’t kill you if you listen to them. Many have grown up with this album back in the day (so it has a nostalgic feel to it (even if it isn’t pleasant), and if you want to buy it, stick with some of the more known tracks, because at least then you’d know what you’d be getting into.

This was like Pre-Hater era, Dark Horse and Here and Now brought most of the haters. There were a lot of memorable songs and this you probably heard on the radio, meaningfully written though? Nah not really, meant for the mainstream.

Let's not do anything different or original and talk about things that are so cliche and generic...then have the Girls Next Door show up in our video because we are uninteresting!

This is some of the most awful music in existence, and i use the word "music" loosely. What the hell are they trying to be, a country/pop band that is trying to fool everyone into thinking that they are "rock"? The singer has an awful voice (I'm using the word "singer" loosely too) and the lyrics are the most boring, cliche, unoriginal, stupid, awful things that i have ever heard. What kind of world do we live in, where a group as terrible as Nickelback can have this many hits that all sound exactly the same with the most terrible lyrics ever, while bands that have actual passion, originality, and brilliant lyrics like Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms, Against Me!, Strike Anywhere, Rise Against, and the like go overlooked by most people. Seriously, one could argue that this is killing music even faster than "gangsta" rap.

Just listen to the song Rockstar. Just listen to it. What is it saying? All you kids, you should be a rock star, so you can be famous and rich! That's why it's great to be a rock star! Not to make music, oh no. The reason you want to be a rock star is to be rich. Never in the song does it mention writing music. That's exactly what Nickelback is like. They claim to be a "hard rock band," yet... just listen to their songs. There's nothing hard or heavy about them. Because, obviously, if you're too heavy for the average listener, you won't get on the radio, and you won't be rich. Seriously, Nickelback sounds like a mushed-up version of everything else out there designed to appeal to everybody at the same time.

Another thing is the vocals. The vocals sound like a country singer after he hasn't brushed his teeth for years. They're just terrible. While I can usually look past bad singing, and still enjoy music (in the case of Muse, Smashing Pumpkins, U2, etc.), I can only enjoy it if it has good instrumentation and meaning. This has neither. I mean, listen to "If Everyone Cared". That song has the most obvious meaning I've ever heard! If everyone was nice to each other, no one would die. WTF! Sorry, guys, but this is what every rock band in the world has been telling audiences since All You Need Is Love, and they usually do it much better.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is just because everyone else is into this junk, doesn't mean you should waste your money. Listening to this makes me want to listen to some very, very obscure underground band.

I pretty much cannot stand them, I think they always sound like wannabees and I don't understand what the big deal is with them and why everyone likes them so much. It makes zero since to me.

doesn't anyone ever pay attention to the musical qualities of songs. mainstream music just sells off their voice. instead of just baring chords why dont they put some soul into their work. i hate how all these bands who dont work very hard on instrumental stuff get all the attention and money, while some of the best guitarist and drummers and bass players in the world are poor. and i hate the lyrics for rockstar because nickleback cannot compare themselves to rockstars. they are pop. true rock stars focus on all aspects of their music.

And to think these guys have an audience that completely dwarfs Death From Above 1979 let alone any hard edge indie band except maybe the White Stripes (no longer indie). Open Your Ears! Listen Up! Rockstar is the worst song I've ever heard. He sounds like he's been smoking since he was 12, and the message is totally wrong! Most people who listen to this album are from 10-30 years old. People who don't know how to use their money! This song is teaching people to be materialistic, and their life isn't good enough if they don't have "The best drug dealer on speed dial." Wrong wrong wrong!

I'd group Nickelback into the group of bands who don't do the music industry any good, and no one will remember in 5 years after bigger and better bands come out. I'm just hoping "the public" *cough* teenage girls *cough* will get over this fad quickly.

I can't think of a more boring band, I'm tired of post grunge. They ripoff Pearl Jam's sound and makes it radio friendly. The lyrics are garbage and all their songs sound the same. The chord structure is the same in all songs. If you care so much why wern't you in any benefit concerts. You should get hit with more rocks Chad. An awful attempt at humor, powerballads, and a bad voice, which means, despite all their newly developed relative nuances, Nickelback remain unchanged: they're still unspeakably awful. Thats the truth.

Nickelback has a strange variety of songs on their cd. You have the insprational songs that promote a healthy America and how we need to be a clean society and then you have songs like Animals which is sexually based and you have Rockstar with all this drug usage lyrics and negative meanings. Please, if you are going to put a CD out to the public, choose one thing to write about whether it be the good sides of situations or bad sides. if you mix it together, it sounds like you're contradicting yourself and make yourself soung stupid and ignorant. and not to mention all their songs are very radio accesible and all sound the same...

WOW!!!! What a comeback, Nickelback!!!! Nickelback is my favorite band, and I own the other cd, The Long Road (check out my review!!!), and I thought that that was the best album I had heard! That was, of course, before I bought this cd. This cd is so rocking!!!! There are SEVEN huge hits that I love on this cd! 7! Do you see Britney Spears with not five, not 6, but SEVEN songs that you love on her cd???? Well, here are my favorites in order. By the way, it was really hard for me to rank this cd, because of my love for SEVEN of the songs. 1.Rockstar (track 11): This song makes me laugh so hard because of some of the stuff. Just be aware of some of the references to "pop my pills from a pez dispenser" and some lyrics like that. 2. Savin' Me (track 5): Amazing lyrics, almost a sad song.Check out the video, it's really cool. 3.If Everyone Cared (track 9): I loved this song before it hit the charts. Excellent lyrics and meaning.4.Fight for All the Wrong Reasons (track 2): Love the heavy guitars. 5. Animals (track 4): Fast paced, some weird lyrics. 6. I dont usually buy complete albums, but I decided to buy this album. This is an awesome album. Ryan Peake unleashes monstrous guitar riffs on hard rock stuff like Animals and Fight for All the Wrong reasons and Chad Kroeger's edgy voice fills ballads like Far Away and If Everyone Cared. Definetely check this album out - its worth it. Here's my track by track review:

Follow You Home (6/10) - One of the weaker songs on the album but still rocks. Your ears will love the drum solos throughout the song.

Fight for All the Wrong Reasons (8.5/10) - One of the best hard rock songs on the album. Rockin song. Blast this song and take in the sweet guitar when you're mad.

Photgraph (9/10) - This song I first bought in January of 06. I wasnt sure about the rest of the album at this point but I knew I loved the nostalgic vocals and nice bass line.

Animals (9.5/10) - Best overall rock song on the album. A killer bass line compliments a heavy guitar as the somewhat raunchy vocals vent about going crazy pretty much. Dont miss out on this totally KILLER song.

Savin Me (10/10) - This song first made me notice the quality of this CD. With heartfelt vocals and a nice piano touch you can listen to this song as many times as you want and not get tired of it (its still one of my all time faves). Also check out the video, which goes along perfectly with the song and makes you think...

Far Away (9/10) - Another awesome song. Nice lyrcis and a bold bass line make this song work. Probably the biggest popular hit off the album.

Next Contestant (9/10) - Great, fun song. This song probably has one of (if not the best) guitar chord. Lyrics are cool, too. The "contestants" are guys who try to hit on his girlfriend.

Side of a Bullet (8/10) - Good song. Not one of my faves, but still a rockin song. Kroeger rocks out on this one.

If Everyone Cared (9.5/10) - This is a terrfic song, which also serves as a nice break from the hard rock of "Next Contestant" and "Side of a Bullet." The nice piano adds a light, feel-good touch to it. One of the best ballads on the album. Its a joy to listen to.

Someone That You're With (10/10) - The most underrated song on the album. The drums rock out loud, and the guitar riffs work. Everything clicks in this song. Probably my personal favorite.

Rock Star (11/10) - My other personal favorite. I love this song. Nickelback are heroes for writing this. Fun to listen to. It has a country sound, edgy vocals, and the lyrics are soooo true.

Average: 9.04

Definetely pick this album up - you'll love it.

This album is awesome. Especially "Savin' Me", my friend just absolutely loves it. The song has lots of meaning and isn't just one of those superficial songs you hear nowadays. Not to mention the tune is very nice.

I loved this album! It was great until I heard all of the singles the second time! Nickelback is boring and all of their songs sound the same. Now they are just plain annoying!

As well as any other money I've contributed to this band in the past years.Nickelback has not only sold into the likes of the radio,but also their orginal sound.Nickelback used to be a grunge band, now they are most commonly ossociated with the top spot on any Top 40 radio station.If I had to give one one postive suggestion regarding this album,it would be "Rockstar".Unless you're a radio-hunry preteen or a stay-at-home mom,avoid this at all costs,(yes,it's really that bad!)

Ok guys, shut up on the album only. We get it already. But you know what?? You can listen to that "Rockstar" song on modern rock radio about every fifteen to twenty minutes, so don't flip out if you can't listen to it 24/7! (You'll be bored by then anyway.) OK. The album. I used to like it, but now I don't, really. Way too much slow songs make it a bore, and nearly every song plays on modern rock radio anyway. One of the only fast songs, "Animals" is, well, GROSS. Perhaps others don't care, but I for one don't especially want to listen to a song about having it off in a car-- not to mention in graphic detail. GAG. And "Photograph" is the hugest pain in the butt ever. It's on the radio just as much as "Rockstar". The only songs I find truely enjoyable are "Follow You Home" and "Side of a Bullet". Oh, hey, look! Those are the only songs NOT to be freakin' singles! *Eyeroll* Sorry for ranting, but I had to... Anyway, if you like Nickelback, by all means get this. But if you're a casual listener like myself, look no further than the radio to hear the near-entirety of this album. (And hey, it's free.)

Despite the fact you people complain about the fact that "Rockstar" can't be bought by itself, you CANNOT give the whole album a bad review for that! It is a hell of a CD on the whole, and you people giving it a bad review for the one song need to pull your heads out of your rear ends and realize this.

waste of time and money

I really like this album. I didn't purchase the whole album but I plan on buying more songs from the album. The songs I have are Follow You Home, Photograph, Animals, Savin' Me, Far Away, If Everyone Cared and Rockstar. I saw on an video that they took 7 months to make this record. I'm really pleased that they took that long and I hope everyone enjoys it. If you're looking at this album review, make sure that you listen to the songs that I mentiones before.

ill admit Rockstar is an awesome song and one of the best songs in here, but dont take it out on the whole album. there are other good songs like Far Away, Savin me, and Photograph. or buy the whole album. its worth it

This album is great. Of course, the best songs are If Everyone Cared, Photograph, Rockstar, etc., but I still like the other songs like Someone that you're with and Animals. It's a good album overall. And a little note to all other reviewers on the iTunes store: don't write 1 and 2 star reviews on albums because Apple made a stupid move that doesn't let you get the song you want without buying the whole album, such as Rockstar. You're reviewing the ALBUM, not iTunes.

Wasn't a huge fan of Nickelback before I bought this cd, but ever since I got the cd that has changed. I love this cd! One of the best cd's that I have come across in a LONG time! Got the upbeat songs, as well as the more mellow songs, all in the one cd! The cd is put together so smoothly that you cant dont really notice song changes, its hard to believe its over when it is, wish the cd were longer! Awesome cd though! Highly Recommend it!

In this poor attempt at an album, Nickelback managed to oust their best member (drummer Ryan "Nik" Videkal), hire a clearly sub-par drummer (Daniel Addair) from 3 Doors Down, and betray their core fans. The whiny Canadian commercialized country-rock found on this album pales in comparison to the hard-rocking music found on their earlier albums such as The State and Silver Side Up. From the very moment this album was released, I was utterly insulted and disgusted. It was as if Nickelback clearly wanted to just sell as many records as they could, regardless if it changed their entire fan following. So now, Nickelback fans from day one like me have to sit here and witness teenie-bopper MTV addicts tell us what true Nickelback fans are. If Nickelback wanted all 12-year old girls to attend their concert they achieved this. I think that's a fair trade...Make a crappy album that will sell millions to fans that are estranged with what they are listening to...Have your image forever tainted. Yep, fair. Of course I'm being facetious. Nickelback committed an unforgivable sin towards their true fans by making this album. In this case, Nickelback was truly taking one step forward and two steps back.

The very first time I heard "Photograph" was on the radio station 99.5 & as I was listening I thought, 'Who is this? This is SUCH a great song!' And of course one of the things I love the most about my 99.5 is the fact that they always tell you the name of the song & the name of the artist or band. The day after I found out that it was Nickelback's song... I went out & bought the whole album!

Follow You Home - 7/10: I listen to this song when I mad... it makes me feel better! LOL

Fight for All the Wrong Reasons - 5/10: I like this song, especially the part where his voice kinda fades out.

Photograph - 10/10: I had obsessions with the song from the second I heard it! Of course my obsession has faded by now, but I still love this song!

Animals - 4/10: Well, this song, is kind of too dirty for me (the lyrics, I mean.) But the tune's pretty good so I listen to it anyway!

Savin' Me - 10/10: This is SUCH a great song! The lyrics are great, the tune is awesome, and the piano solo thingy at the end is a great touch! I can picture the music video in my head when I listen to it!

Far Away - 10/10: Ok, well, first things first... this is a great song! Although the music video makes me cry! Me & my friend were watching it together one day and when the tree fell on the firefighter guy we both just burst out into tears! But then since the ending is good... I loved it! (Great lyrics!)

Next Contestant - Even though I'm a girl I still like this song! I just like how he calls each person who hits on his girlfriend a "contestant." Another good song to listen to when you're mad!! ;-)

Side of a Bullet - 2/10: I'll admit I hardly ever listen to this song but that's because well, to me, the lyrics are kind of disturbing. Not in a dirty way, but just kind of... I don't know exactly!

If Everyone Cared - 8/10: This song is absolutely beautiful! LOL The lyrics are really good because basically they're conveying a positive message. I agree cuz the world would be lots better if everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved, and nobody lied.

Someone That You're With - 9/10: This is an awesome song to listen to when you like a certain person but they already like a different person.

Rockstar - 8/10: I really like this song but my dad was the one who was first obsessed with it, I really like how it's kind of mixing rock with a teeny bit of country (and I HATE country (except for Carrie Underwood...)!!)

okay what i think is stupid is that they require "album only" what the heck is that? i only wanted to get rockstar and they make me get the whole album. .i didn't want the whole album. but yeah i like all the songs. i just ended up buying the whole thing instead of what i wanted.. so yeah that's kinda cheap.

Ok I have only heard maybe 2/3's of this album and this is truly an amazing album! I love this guys voice I mean it's so good!!!

Rockstar 8.5- This song has a really great beat and not so insperational lyrics and I can't play this song around my parents because it has all of this idk bad stuff!! lol

Photograph 9.0- This was me and my best friends favorite song for about 2 months before it became popular so when it became popular it was overplayed.....

Savin' Me 8.1- OMG THIS SONG IS OVERPLAYED!!!!! good beat hate the lyrics...

The Album All The Right Reasons is a work of Art. Nickelback should be very proud of themselves. In my opinion every song is a 5 star song. They should release all the songs from this album on the radio. You will not be disapointed if you buy a song or the entire album.

This is a very good CD and i expected nothing different. No need to complain about him changing either because his singing is best like it is. 5/5 stars. If your a Nickelback fan, highly advised you get this CD.
