Yup.
A classic.
I totally understand how the old ZZ fans may have considered 1983 the end of their beloved blues band from Texas.
They embraced the assist from MTV and catipulted into every living room in the country.
Brilliant move.
They deserve everything that has come their way.
Quality rock with a ton of production, but Gibbons is Gibbons, and he always will be.
That tone is still there and it’s everything.
Put on I Need You Tonight as loud as possible.
It’s just a masterful piece of music.
Thug is an overlooked gem as well.
Having owed all their albums through Recyler, this one will always be the peak.
Every band is going to change and mature as they go. ZZTop went commercial, and that’s that. More power to them.
Every teen boy in the US absolutely adored ZZTop in 1983. Sure videos helped, but my god Billy Gibbons could play. Fun, catchy songs.. yup, a classic.
