Impressive, Amazing album

This is one of my favorite albums to come out since Wolfgang VH's album. The quality of these songs is amazing. Interestingly the lead off single is probably my least favorite of the album. These guys deserve to headline the stadium tour every single night, they are so far above everybody else on that bill, and they can still pull it off live. Much respect gentleman, this is a top quality album. Please don't listen to clowns like Nikki Sixx who says nobody buys albums anymore...... your fans absolutely love getting full studio albums, especially of this quality. Well done sirs!

I have had this album since it was released. I was very impressed by how fresh the band sounded and the different styles of music throughout this album. I wasn't looking for Pyromania or Hysteria II....but something from the heart and soul of Def Leppard in this day and time and this album has it!! Thanks for the music, guys! ❤️❤️

Just love it

Hey people writing its not Pyromania…Uhh yeah. It’s also not 1983.
Bombastic - check. Blazing solos - check. Power chorus’s - check. Killer hooks - check. Let me ask u this, where else are u hearing butt kicking rock from nowadays? Enjoy.

It's fun, hard driving rock and roll from Def Leppard - these dudes have been sounding good for decades and I'm super excited to see them continue. ROCK ON!

Not a huge Def Leppard fan but this album rocks!

I’m more of a diehard Led Zeppelin fan. More into the classic hard rock than the 80s glam hard rock. But I must say Def Leppard has really done a great job with their new album. Great music and lyrics. Def Leppard gets an A from me👍.

I’ve been a fan since the beginning and am tired of hearing people whine. High and Dry and Pyromania were awesome, but they are not all there is to this band. Set your preconceived opinions aside and give their newer albums more than just a passing listen. These guys are still making great music and they still know how to rock!

I have been a fan of this band since the 80's. I remember blasting pyromania from my boom box and discovering On Through the Night and High and Dry. I consider Hysteria a pop rock masterpiece. I grew to love Slang and for a long time considered Slang the bands last real attempt to make a rock record. I remember watching a special on VH1 and Joe was talking about how when the band started that their goal was to be the biggest band in the world. For a short period of time, they were indeed that. Thinking about this album and others that they have released over the last 25 years or so, I believe the drive to be the biggest band in the world continues to drive them. They've teamed up with Taylor Swift, Tim Mcgraw, and now Allison Krause. Sometimes, I think that the band has left me behind as a fan. It seems like most of the songs they put on their albums anymore are ballads that may possibly have some appeal to 50 year old mom's watching the Hallmark channel. This album starts out strong enough. They had me believing that they were going to try to make a rock album when they stragecically released the only 3 real bangers on the album first. I like the first 3 songs, I'm not feeling the rest. Honestly, I think that they wasted the talents of Allison Krause. Lifeless might be the worst song they have ever recorded, and this is a band that recorded X. What I miss most about Def Leppard songs is that there is no more myth building in the songs. Billy doesn't have a gun. No Satellite. Listening to the syrupy sweet lyrics on this album I find it hard to believe that this is the same band that wrote When the walls came tumbling down or Foolin'. I will probably always be curious about future albums, but this is probably the last full album that I will ever purchase from the boys from Sheffield. That being said Songs from the Sparkle Lounge is an absolute delight. This album not so much.

I’ve been a fan since their first release. This one just blew me away. If album rock on commercial radio like it was back in the day, these tracks would be multiple hits. Some really strong Leppard style songs. Geez, these guys are in their 60’s and still killing it!

Def Leppard has always taken forever between studio albums - but the wait is usually worth it. That is absolutely the case this time. I love this album! Almost every song is great. Some took me a few times listening to in order to really appreciate but once I did - WOW.
All We Need may be one of the great all-time Leppard songs. It is that good.
Goodbye for Good This Time, Gimme a Kiss, and Unbreakable are all near the end of the track list, do not miss them.
I am not sure where these pop complaints are coming from, there are some rocking songs here. This is the best Leppard album in a while - worth the wait in every way.

A fan from the beginning and seen them live a number of times. That being said…
I’ve been listening to Diamond Star Halo for the last two weeks. I also listened to the classic tracks, Diamond Star Halo has a purpose, an essence! Whether intended or not as a fan I feel the overall achievement here by this true and tested group. We all mature over time, Diamond Star Halo was not meant to sound like anything they’ve done in the past, but took pieces of past rock sounds and put their “essence” on it that became Diamond Star Halo! Def Leppard keep rocking!

I wanted to like this album, and I listened to it 7 times all the way through. There is not even one song that is worth downloading. Not one. I loved EVERY song on Def Leppard’s first 4 albums! This album reminds me of their “X” record. They had 7 years to come up with a new record, and this is it….Please go back to being Def Leppard. Check out the new Scorpions record, now that is some great stuff!

Still putting out some good music

Just finished listening to the whole album. Once again Def Leppard keeps putting out some good music even 40 years later. For all the people that say this is the same old pop stop and actually listen to the whole album. No it’s not high n dry or pyromania. Those albums where great but stop living in the past they will never reproduce those albums enjoy them for what they are. As far as the pop references I would argue Pyromania and definitely Hysteria had a pop rock element to it so get over it. This album has a good mix of old style and new. Yes there is a little country feel to a few songs but if you listen to any good rock there is some cross over with country the two have a lot of similar roots. I’ve been a fan for 40 years and I will always be a fan. True fans appreciate Def Leppard for all their music not just the big hits or old classics. So put this album on and get ready for the stadium tour when it comes your way.

Great Album and different from all other albums

The album is amazingly good. It’s got a lot of good rock , hard rock and softies but all sound great. Don’t compare it to High n dry , Pyro or Hysteria because it’s different a good way. I enjoyed listening to all songs. If you are expecting old school Leppard 30 yrs ago then buy the greatest hits album.
If you have an opened mind give this a chance and enjoy the quality music DL has created for 2022.

I’m not giving it 2 stars because iTs NoT 80s LePpArD, the album is just generic sappy pop rock (again). The notable songs here are Take What You Want, Liquid Dust which is actually a cool mellow song, and From Here to Eternity (best song on the album).

The more I listen, the more I love this album. The songs are all extremely well written and there’s great diversity. My personal favorite is Take What You Want, it’s very much old school Def Leppard. As is All We Need. But shockingly I love This Guitar and Lifeless, a lot! I’m not a country fan per se, but I do like some crossover stuff. I’ve been a fan since ‘83 and still love the old rockers but I’ve matured and like lots of music, pop, even some hip hop, like Eminem. It always blows my mind at the people that are stuck in the ‘80s heavy metal. Please, get rid of the mullet and improve your musical tastes!

Very good album.

Upon listening to the whole album numerous times since its release, may I be so bold as to declare this as Def Leppard’s best album in 25 or more years. Sure, it ain't Pyromania or Hysteria, but every song is really quite good and enjoyable. Helluva job gents, thank you.

I thought 2015's self titled album was really good and their best since at least 1999's Euphoria, unfortunately this one doesn't come close. The songs just aren't there this time, and there's way too much pop and not enough rock (actually reminds me of when they followed Euphoria with X, which smoothed out their sound even more and made Euphoria sound like a metal album by comparison). "Take What You Want" is a great opener but it pretty much drops off from there. Everyone including Joe sounds like they're in fine form still, but the songs and the overall production just lack any real teeth.

Fun and Good album

This is a GREAT effort for DL, a good mixture of classic sounds, some different sounds and a few ballads. The first track, Take What You Want is one of the best songs in their entire catalog. SOS, Open Your Eyes and Unbreakable are also ones I’d like to hear live. Kick, Fire It Up, and Liquid Dust seem repetitive and more commercial. This Guitar is a moving and catchy song, but features quite a different sound with Allison’s voice, and she’s also on Lifeless. Not sure what to make of Goodbye, Angels and Eternity, is this a farewell tour? 😇 (There was also an 👼 song on their last album, which had several good songs.) The rest of the new tunes are fairly decent and the whole album flows well, so most fans will love it. Hard to top 10*** Hysteria, but at least they are still touring and making new music, so kudos and A+ for their 50 amazing years of entertaining the world…, so really 4.5 ***

Best since Hysteria

I’m a huge Def Leppard fan, but this isn’t Def Leppard. I know bands get bored and want to experiment and try new things, but all these songs sound the same. Sterile guitar tone, bubblegum pop vocals, generic choruses. No one is asking Def Leppard to sing about sex, drugs, and rock & roll anymore, but you don’t need to in order to write great rock songs (just look at Boston). Where are the raw guitar solos, the thumping arena drums, the high-voltage lead singer and the liquid smooth backing vocals? Def Leppard is trying to appeal to the current generation instead of the one from the 80s that made them famous, but this 30 year old is here to say that the current generation likes 80s Def Leppard to, not this other stuff! I respect them all greatly as musicians and for their talent and contribution to rock and roll but this is not for me.

This band so desperately misses Steve Clark,He was the edge of the blade and just like all the others he died too soon. I don’t understand why everybody has too dump on em tho. They’re 60 years old and at least theyre still tryin,{and they know they havent been the same since Steve died too} With so little decent rock being made anymore, we really shouldn’t harass the bands that at least at some point gave us ROCK! At no point ever, should anybody dump on Def Leppard. I give this album 3 stars for content and 10 for still trying. Thats more than a lot of great bands have done after losing a founding member.

Purchased this album today. Best one since Slang (which was very under appreciated) or Hysteria. Songs are well written and the album very well produced with very good instrumentation. How do you label this poor pop junk as rock? Just about every song has the same tone. The guitar sound is boring just like everything out there. No interesting hooks or riffs to the songs. Vocals are breathed and not sung. Either get mutt Lange back to help you or please retire cause you are embarrassment to Steve Clark’s memory

The talent is still there. The rock is not. Instead there is a presence of country twang. The first three songs sound like Monday Night Football theme songs.
Didn’t Plant team up with Krause years ago? Pyromania and Hysteria were long ago, this album shows that. If they wanted to create a guitar driven rock anthem album, they still could. Def Leppard chose not to, in favor of Pop flair with a tint of country. As a fan since the 80’s, this is by far their most disappointing album.

Joe Elliot is 62 years old. Perhaps he can't quite scream out the vocals like he could 40 years ago but then none of the bands that I grew up on have been able to do that when I've seen them in concert. Pop? Kick might be Def Leppard's most fun song ever. Perfect for the spring and summer. Can't wait until the new album arrives and the stadium tour kicks off

This band sold out years ago. I actually thought Vivian would inject some hard rock edge to this band when he joined but he went the way of pop music.

Digging the new single 'Kick'!

I was there in the early 80s for the original classic albums (graduated '86)...and this is a great return to that sound for me. Looking forward to the rest of the album. Well done, gentlemen!

I can’t wait for the whole album to come out! First song sounds fresh, catchy and a bit retro, still it’s Def Leppard in 2022 and I’m grateful the boys of Sheffield keep on rocking!

This is going to be good!

The new single, “Kick” rocks! A very 70’s Brit-glam vibe with big guitars, anthemic hooks, and all the signature rock star swagger of that era. Their influences shine on this one for sure! Can’t wait for the rest of the album!
