This is a historical musical documentary of the 2020 pandemic. It couldn’t be more perfect as the irony and satire blend well with Bo’s vulnerability and mental state during the isolating year. The fact he solely produced and directed, acted and composed this single-handedly is a feat. His magnum opus, this album and film completely blew me away. Well done, Burnham.

The staying power of a bunch of these songs is incredible. It can be very cathartic to listen to while still being able to laugh at the absurdity of things. An incredibly relatable comedy album; I can’t stop listening or singing at least once a week.

This playlist is absolutely phenomenal in the special is so great it gives you a more understanding of Bo both his trauma and his wanting to help through comedy so if you haven’t watch the special it’s called inside and it’s on Netflix what are you waiting for go watch it

Weird as hell…

Look, I’m seeing people say “this is divisive” and “White guilt!” I agree guilting anyone for their race is MAD stupid, but have you considered that as a musical artist who has done parody style work that Bo is poking fun at the common tropes of white guilt and the like? Bo pokes fun at everything, much like with That is How the World Works. It’s ultimately not actually about white or black, political parties, morality arguments- the larger narrative points to classism, which is being buy-and-large abused to create docile lower class workers. This album SHOULD upset you, but not for the reason some of you think.

Bo rules. These songs rule. To the haters- you are poo poo faces and ...sorry. I should nnot have gone there. But seriously... you try writing magic while slowly losing your mind. "Inside" is all of us durin the new normal, that is why it's genius. Oh, and it's funny. So yeah, Bo... when this is over let's hang.

I laughed, I cried, I felt emotions. It chewed me up a spit me out. Masterful, raw, from the hear, from beginning to end, you think everything is ok, then you fall apart with him, and get put back together again.

this was honestly an absolutely amazing album and special, i’m still trying to get over it, 11/10 would recommend, all eyes on me, that funny feeling, and goodbye all have a special place in my heart, and i’m going to see inside in theaters on thursday so i’m hella excited, thank you so much bo💖💖

In my opinion, this is one of the most important pieces of art to come out of the Covid-19 pandemic. Burnham both subtlety and not-so-subtlety captures a moment in history from the view on the ground: his vision encapsulates what it feels like to be isolated with only your own thoughts and how that feeling can spiral into madness and/or genius.

His songs at times are silly and at the same time, they can hold in-depth societal commentary on the state of our lives in a modern world. Inside is a rollercoaster of emotion that tracks through a hurricane. It is beautiful and gut-wrenchingly full of despair. It is funny and heart-breaking. But it is human. And it is an absolute masterpiece that should stand the test of time as a historical snapshot. I only hope Inside isn’t Burnham’s magnum opus, but if this is as good as it gets, it’s as near to perfection as art can be.

Thaaaaaaat is how the world wooorks.

This is the first time in years I thought that an album was worth actually purchasing. I typically just listen to everything on Spotify but I think it’s important to support an artist by actually buying the album if you like it. Hope not all of this is going to Netflix, but my disillusioned self thinks, “probably!”

If your kids or grandkids want to know what this last year and half was like, show them Inside. It’s upsetting and perfect.

I’ve loved listening to Bo throughout the years but this is just crazy and in my opinion out of touch with reality.

My wife bought this the first day it came out after we watched the special.

This is a spectacular masterpiece, the music, the lyrics are a reflection of the times

It may not be for everyone but everyone should listen to it and see the special
