Hootie and the Blowfish is without a doubt one of my favorite bands. They have tons of great hits and albums that we will all listen to forever. Lets get real though, there should be more hits on this album and more variety. This should be a double disc set with more on it. Honestly I'm happy, but not impressed. Long live Hootie!

Hootie and the Blowfish song 'let her cry" touches me and makes me realize that its okay to cry especially when u are down

Let her cry was the song when my mom and dad met

My mom and dad met when this song played which I think is weird cos let her cry is like a really sad song to me. And what is funny it took my dad forever for my mom to go out with him. I love this song so much even though Let her cry is one year older than me I can't live without the song in my life. Hootie and Blowfish were great.

I'm really bummed that "Goodbye Girl' is album only. I bought a Hootie & the Blowfish CD in college and I don't think I should have to repurchase it just to get one song. I've been wanting this song for a long time, but I am not going to pay 10 times what it's worth. Come on guys, let us have it for a fair price!

Great album

I grew up on this Goo Goo Dolls and assorted other bands. This soul felt rhythmic music has more ability to bring back good memories than anything. What a buy. seriously if you grew up in the nineties just get it already.

Fantastic!

I'm definitely a big hootie fan! And C.hill... I agree, but One Love wasn't released when this CD was. It is on the album Looking for Lucky which was released after this one. That one is great too.

Unbelievable album, a great collection of original and covers. You know a song is good, when your singing along and you pores start tingling. Use Me is amazing and brings a new intensity to its message. I Will Wait is another great emotionally driven song, same with I Go Blind. Buy the album cause it will serve you well!!!

In the nineties I only listened to country music, I really missed a lot. Now I am taking time to go back and listen to as much music as I can of different genres. This is a cd that I am enjoying so much because I love Darius Ruckers voice. All the songs are good. Try it, you'll like it.

I have just recently discovered Hootie and they're an amazing band! I enjoy their music very much. I'm obsessed with DMB and I must say that Hootie & The Blowfish is pretty similiar, but in a much different way. The lead singers voice is amazing and I'm simply in love! The long instrumental choruses are what make me crave more. I'll sure be at one of their concerts soon!

Wow!!! I Remember When I Heard That Song...

I grew up listening to Hootie and the Blow Fish in the 90s, so it's great that itunes has their stuff. My dad bought all the huge 90s albums such as Bare Naked Ladies, Counting Crows and R.E.M. The best part is itunes has all of them! Good times, good times.

Seems like whenever I reminisce about the good times from the 90's, there always a tune from this band playing in the background. It doesn't matter if your driving down the road or in the pub with friends, these songs always sound great!

Gotta Love That Hootie

I have been away from Hootie and Blowfish for some time... lost my CDs in a divorce and had forgotten how much I love this music. Its great, an essential for any collection. Great compilation covering a 10 year span of great music.

Unbelievable...

Who knew somebody could be such a great artist. Man, I've grown up with Hootie, and I know we have this cd somewhere around the house. if I can't find it, I honestly don't know what I'll do, cuz he's amazing. His songs are just plain fun, even if the lyrics are a bit more "emotional", if you know what I mean. My personal opinion is that it is fully worth the price.

Buy the whole album just to get Goodbye Girl?

Come on! I ended up paying for 2 copies of Fairweather Johnson at a cd release party in Five Points back in 1996 because I left the first one on the bar and someone stole it. My point is, like several other fine artists on iTunes, someone has decided that it is a good idea to lock a great song away from the folks who A) already have the rest of the material and do not want to double up and or B) aren't going to drop $12 or $13 bucks on ONE song! How about JCP Needs a Fake ID as the album only track?
Oh yeah - the review. Hootie and the Blowfish have suffered many insults over the years due to their relatively simple musical constructions and lead singer Darius Rucker's tendency to put a whole lot of stank on whatever he may be singing. However, it is important to remember that these guys are a really, really great bar band above all else. They are not trying to be anything other than that.
Well, if they were trying, it didn't end up working - but there is a reason that Cracked Rear View sold 68 trillion cd's back in the day.
Their music has stood up well and still sounds fresh to a new listener or even someone who once used a cd single of “Drowning” as a coaster for several lean years in the mid 90’s.
A pleasant surprise is that 2005’s Looking For Lucky has just as many good songs on it as their other releases (more than some of the more recent stuff) – it is also worth a listen.

Hootie, where have you gone?

Hootie and the Blowfish is a band that truly transcends time. I can listen to songs like I Will Wait or Space and truly feel at peace with myself. I think that Hootie deserves to go down in modern day music history in the same way that Beethoven and Mozart are mentioned with the great artists of the past. In all seriousness, I think that in years to come Hootie will be recognized as the Van Gogh of music. Someone who was never fully appreciated in his time, but someone who time will reveal his true genius.

Hoodoo, you are what people call a hater
You don't just give an album 1 star because you do not like one song.
I also read your other reviews. You gave one star to a bunch of stuff.
This is an awsome album from start to finish. Look at their album sales and tell me i am wrong

They are Goodd!!!

I used to wonder who were these guys! All the time I used to listen to them on the radio. I never knew that many of the songs are played on the station that frequently.

This is a great cd.

I grew up on Hootie and the blowfish as did many people who grew up in the 90's. These guys are one of the best 90's bands and the memories associated with these songs are worth more than the price of the album.
