im just going to say this before i begin, the singles (or A side) (or first half) was way better than the rest. end the game easily takes the cake because the tap solo and the vocal harmony, and the power cord sequence in the intro just works! I do think that this song should of opened up the record becuase jeez! Its probably my favourtie song ever by weezer. Hero was good tho, but i feel like lyrically, this was prob a demo from ok human, and rivers said "hey, this would sound better if it sounded like lighting in a bottle". im okay with that but i thougt we were done with the cringe songwritting after ok human. guess i was wrong. speaking of which, she needs me is the most lyrically cringe song, aside from im your daddy from ratitude. any way, can we talk about begining of the end? the album version killed it (and not in a good way...). in the wyld stalyons edit i liked the intro better, it gave us more time to hear those crunchy lead guitars! Also, blue dream. good to know that rivers can play crazy train a half step higher. thats all im gonna say about that. and all the good ones is ratitude on steriods. the lyrics sound a little cringe again. on some positive notes, i loved one more hit, good stuff. It gives me metalica vibes, except the lead guitar has a difrent tone, but i vibe with it. shelia can do it is great, but there's not a lot of shredding there, so its kinda like the blue album, which is perfectly fine. i need some of that is cool, its very nostalgic, and while its not the best song here, its solid. the closer, my precious metall girl is a relapse of endless bumer from the white album (second fav weezer song ever) except no shredding at the end, and i was totally waiting for that, so it kind of bummed me out. but still pretty gentle finish for a pretty reckless and destructional album, it reminded me of butterfly from pinkerton, but this is better. Overall, it sounded like i was listening to a brand new ep, because they kind of ruined this album's hype by realeases 4 singles for it, and only leaving us with 6 new songs to listen to, and personally, i only enjoyed 3 out of those 6. so im leavin a 7 out of 10 for this. very good tho, its almost as good as maladroit or EWBAITE. Good job, and i can't wait to see what you do next weezer (or maybe i can, idk, its weezer were talking about here lol)
