Angry noise

I like much of this album. But in retrospect it’s nothing special. Killed hair metal? Motley are bigger than ever. As are bon jovi, poison, Def Leppard and many other “hair bands”. Grunge lasted about 5 years only to be replaced by boy band pop and a trail of dead junkies.

There’s no rating for this album. In a time when music was purely corporate knock offs, here was finally music original. Maybe you missed Bob Dylan or the Clash, but not Nirvana. We all knew the electricity. And it screamed here’s a new generation. And we were here then and now just a fading echo. It’s not my favorite album but it’s the album that changed it all. It was all there. The rage, anger, sentiment and aggressiveness. Life changed. The world changed. With an album, maybe for the last time. Stay on your edge. Stay pessimistic. Stay forever generation Nevermind.

Groundbreaking album and year in music. This, Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik, and Ten all come out the same year and begin a 4 year 1991-1995 dominance of my favorite sub genre of rock-Grunge).

This is one of the albums that paved the way for the grunge movement and it’s one of the most classic nostalgic, prominent albums of the 90’s. A masterpiece

Thank you Nirvana for helping punk to re-emerge in the early mid-90’s. This was such an influential album along with Operation Ivy’s, Sublime and NOFX’s albums to help get the new sounding, fast and melodic punk music out into the mainstream. Actually punk music never sounded better since the 90’s and Nirvana’s never mind had something to do with starting it. By the way Nirvana was a PUNK band... NOT A “grunge” band
