Cosmic and Clever

RECOMMENDED TRACKS: Microgravity, Tranquilizer, The Fairytale, Cloudwalker II, Cygnus-A
When it comes to ambient music, there are a lot of space-themed works. The most notable would be Brian Eno's Apollo, arguably the best space ambient CD in electronic history. Few space-themed albums can conjure up a vision of the cosmos as effectively as Eno did, but Geir Jenssen, with Microgravity, does it in an all new, unique way. With tracks like Microgravity, Tranqulizer, and Cloudwalker II, Biosphere creates entirely original soundscapes that evoke feelings that can't be found on any other CD. This album isn't all ambient, however; half of it is more upbeat ambient house, or techno. Science fiction grows all over this record like a beautiful fungus. Anyone with a taste for astronomy, science fiction, or alien visions will enjoy Microgavity. And if you love these tracks, checkout Biosphere's Patashnik, an album with similar sound that almost feels like a sequel of sorts.

album from a different world

the album cover has a peculiar way of aiding you into the theme of this album, a metallic, floating, anti-gravity eye type thing... god, it looks familiar, maybe I have seen it before in some classic sci-fi film, but it keeps reminding me of something from space, another world, and thats exactly what this album does... a trip through space, near and far, and then a brief trip in the swamps of a planet much like ours, in the track Cygnus-A... this album is just classic... all you sci-fi weirdos will love this album and its samples from old sci-fi films... Get it!
