Ed Sheeran's newest album divide is decent, but as I'm here listening to it track by track, each song to a degree has a very similar beat and I even heard repetitive lines, some of the wording even sounds alike. Multiple songs on this album sound like the same song with slightly different lyrics. The overall quality of the lyrics creative wise, is honestly not great. The reason why I fell in love with X and + was because of the balance. You'd hear a song like "Nina", you'd also get a raging upbeat track like "don't" or "you need me, I don't need you". I was never impressed with the first singles released, Shape of you is not his style at all, and Castle on the hill is beyond basic, brings absolutely nothing new to the table. This album strikes me as extremely rushed and last minute. I feel like a lot of his fans were expecting an upgraded multiply, this album actually lives up to its title, a step down from multiply. But seriously the "best album in the world", oh hell no. You can do better Ed, you've already proven this to us with your previous work.
