Simply the greatest rock album ever recorded. Don't get me wrong. Animals, Wish You Were Here and DSOTM are Floyd staples. We all know how good those albums are. However, Floyd takes it to another level with The Wall. The songwriting is simply phenominal. Add to that the great vocal tracks and David's unbelieveable guitar work and you have a masterpiece. I've been listening to rock and roll for 40 years and have no problem saying this is the greatest rock album ever recorded. I've listened to it hundreds of times and it still gives me chills. This album is a must have for any rock fans collection.

Love it

Pink Floyd is by far my favorite artist and the wall is my favorite album. Also I have only been alive for a short time so it is an old album to me. But I still love it

Whatever Jeff does on his drums never ceases to amaze me.It totally grabs a hold and never lets go.He has that unique ability to dig deep into the inner soul and find out what a certain person is thinking about. So it is his way of finding out all about the intricacies of the mind
It is very interesting to discover so much more about what he can do. I love to hear his voice through my headphones. His rhythms make me wanna get up and dance. He will always remain the best heartstrings drummer of all time and gorgeous Dreamyeyed Angel.Keep grooving in heaven with all those other greats. 🎺💙😍🐈💜🎻📱🎧💛🎤💿🎸📀☺️🎼❤️😈🐱🐯🎷😀💽😊📲😅💚😇😂🎹😿.It's not the same without your drums. I can’t add to anything anyone else hasn’t already said about this epic album. It’s all that and then some. Roger Waters put together a masterpiece that will forevermore be one of the greatest albums of all times, transcending generations.
My only issue is why cut off David Gilmore’s solo on Comfortable Numb? I remain incensed by the way this was recorded. This is one of the most famous guitar solos ever, and by one of the all time great lead guitarists, and it gets cut? I just don’t get it! This album and DSOTM rank in the top 10 albums of all time.
I would be remiss if I didn’t say that personally I’m not a Waters fan but I give credit where it’s due. He was, and is a musical genius. David Gilmore is arguably one of the top 5 of all time lead guitarists and deservedly so. Without Gilmore I don’t believe these albums would have ascended the heights they have reached. Roger put it to paper but David made it come alive.

It was hard to decide but this album is my favorite that they’ve ever made. So powerful and it helped me understand my mistakes during a really difficult period of time. Experience this music somehow, whether with the movie or the album. It’s all a masterpiece.

I have been listening to Pink Floyd since my mother played it for me while i was still in the womb. this album is hauntingly beautiful and is even better after you watch the movie. if you don't like the album, you either are deaf or aren't listening hard enough.

Greats from the greats.

The Wall takes me back to the early 80s. I realize musical artists are becoming harder to find and soon music of this caliber will be a thing of the past.

....the release of this was also an event. A very ballsy and daring album. I will never forget how blown away by this album when I first heard it. Amazing songs, great lyrics, this album is also very funny at times, something that could not be said of The Final Cut. I love how Pink Floyd expanded their sound on this. Favorite songs of mine are both parts of In The Flesh, Run Like Hell, Comfortably Numb, Mother, Another Brick In The Wall, Part 3, etc... . A masterpiece.

Possibly the ultimate concept album

It is just so epic in its scale. It is dark, hunting and emotional. The was, for me, the last album of an unbelievable era. Pink Floyd proved themselves as one of the greatest bands of all time.
Excellent production, hunting lyrics, amazing music. Everyone should have this album on their shells.

Thoughtful, Depressing, Emotional, and Incredible.

The Wall is simply my favorite album. A metaphorical story about a rock star or something you can personal relate yourself personally to. Songs like "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2", "Mother", "Hey You", and most of all "Comfortably Numb" solidify how powerful this album is.

No music library is complete with the wall. It is absolutely the best album ever. Strong message that will stay relevant forever, roger and Gilmour's great vocals, Gilmours masterful guitar work. The whole album is a masterpiece from start to finish. If you haven't heard this album, stop what you are doing and listen to it now! A must buy for everyone.

Songs are cut short

A great album but the quality is terrible. It sounds like a track album rather than a concept album; the songs don't flow into each other. Some songs are cut short (last several seconds). Disappointed.

No collection of rock music would be complete without this album, cliche but in this case true. The Wall will stand alongside Beethoven's 9th Symphony as something everyone must hear, before the die.

My all-time fave. Would get stoned and listen to both albums on headphones years ago and could swear I heard things in the songs I couldn't hear when I was not stoned. Voices. It was great with a snickers bar or chocolate ice cream.

I pretty much only know this album, but otherwise, I honestly don't know too much about Pink Floyd, only that my dad loves this band above all others. And when I watched The Wall a few days ago, I can understand why. The story is so deep, dark, and heart-wrenching emotional. Not to mention down-right creepy. But the visuals in that movie, and its musical backbone, make for a beautiful piece of work that will be appreciated for years to come. I hear the music differently now, and I'm so addicted to it, it's scaring me. XD

Mastering is awful

This review is only for the mastering by itunes. Volume is way to low. The mastering for itunes is a gimmick. Go to Amazon and buy you the true remastered version and up it into Itunes. I have noticed that Apple has yanked alot of remastered releases in favor of this mastered for Itunes version gimmick.

If you have downloaded an album and it says purchased but is in grey it may be because it hasn't fully uploaded. If it still does that here's what you do. Go to iTunes Store-Scroll down till you see your account, then access it and look for Hidden Purchases. The album should be there just download it from that. Hope that helps. Great album btw.

One of the greatest albums out there, but nothing compared to what could have been....

Did you know that Pink Floyd was to do the music for the Dune Movie. Not the David Lynch one, but the legendary attempt by master surreallist director Alejandro Jodorowsky back before Star Wars came out? They would have done a massive album/soundtrack with the French band Magma. This was about after Dark Side of the Moon came out. So, thanks to Hollywood, instead of Pink Floyd's songs for the fall and rise of House Atreides, we got The Wall.
Not that I am complaining. This is one of the greatest albums out there.

YET ANOTHER AMAZING ALBUM!!!!!!!!

A little bit freaky but still my favorite album of all time. You can not get only some songs in this album, in order to like Pink Floyd, you have to listen to the whole album at one time. If you don't, you be waiting for that next beat at the end of the song but it will never come unless you get the whole album. It I were to give this a rating of 1-10 I would give it a 12.

Five Stars, Of Course!

What other rating than 5/5 could I give this spectacular rock opera? Pink Floyd was (and still is) extremely unique In their style. Not to mention putting out a heart-rendingly meaningful album in a time when so much of the mainstream music was about love or heartbreak or what have you.
The songs play into each other perfectly, and Dave Gilmour had some spectacular solos (as Dave Gilmour usually does). The solo in "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2" will always spark a feeling of rebellion inside me, and the second solo in "Comfortably Numb" will always make me feel, well, comfortably numb. And in the best of ways.

Stunning and epic

This album is an experience. The album can go from quiet and careful to loud and symphonic within seconds. The overarching theme of isolation gives some of the quiet parts a very "lonely" feeling, which are quickly balanced out by the screaming solos. In my opinion, the vinyl version is the superior format when it comes to this album. It's the little things that matter here, such as the B side ending with the song "Goodbye Cruel World." This forces the listener to endure complete silence just after hearing a song about a suicide threat. This silence lets the listener reflect on just how emotional the album up to this point is. You can't get this with the digital version unless you pause the album at the end of the song. Again, this is just my opinion and the same emotional and borderline psychedelic experience can be obtained by listening to the digital version. From hearing the opening line of "So ya thought ya might like to go to the show," you know you're in for a treat.
