This is something special. It’s so proud and pure. I’m never going to get over this. Hamilton isn’t just another broadway production or something to be cast aside. This musical is where heaven meets earth in flying colors. It’s not just musical. The verses, the quotes ALL have meaning.

“This is not a moment it’s movement!”

“I’m a compel him to include women in the sequel!”

“Legacy is planting seeds in a garden you’ll never get to see.”

“Look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now.”

So much meaning and depth. And bad stuff happens to good people. But we need to rise up above those fears and doubts. Because if we let those thoughts determine how we live; we might as well throw away our shot.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, thank you for using your wonderful knack of lyrics and songwriting to create such a colorful soundtrack.

Thank you to each and everyone of the cast members who used their skills and voices to put beauty and harmony into the sheet music.

I have loved this musical ever since it came out. It taught me a ton about the revolutionary war, in a fun and musical way. Each song has a great beat. The musical has a mix of rap, classical, and pop all mixed in one. I have been a fan of Lin Manual Miranda for a while, and this did not disappoint. I love this musical, and everything about it is great.

This is honestly one of the best albums out there my parents have finally let me see this peace of art on Disney+. Hopefully if Covid isn’t as big a deal next year we will be able to see it on broadway. 🎭 I listened to this album over and over again everyday for 4 months. Best aulbum ever

So at first I didn’t wanna watch it I thought it’d be so weird and odd.(it took me three months to finish it but now that I love the show it’ll only take me three hours) from watching it I had no idea who my hero was but as soon as I watched it I realize Eliza Hamilton is my hero but enough about me like I said I’ve been obsessed since the day I heard all the songs I listen to him when I go to soccer practice or when I go to soccer games I have Schuyler sisters as my ringtone

If Lin-Manuel Miranda ever read this I just want you to know Hamilton is the best show I’ve ever seen in my whole entire life it changed my whole life

Lin-Manuel is a genius. He is modern the Shakespeare. His songs are so beautiful and I can’t get the lyrics out of my head.

My favorite musical soundtrack of all time. Even if you haven't seen it, the soundtrack can stand alone in telling the narrative. The cast is wonderful, the lyrics are genius, and with every listen you will notice some minor detail/melody woven into the music that you never noticed before. I cannot recommend this album enough.

This album is incredible. Lin-Maunel Miranda writes a beautiful score. The writing of the lyrics are meaningful and deep. This musical is groundbreaking and sets the level for Broadway shows in the future.

You know that an album or compilation as exceptional when you can't even pick a top ten because every song is just so amazing. We could all learn something from the life story of Alexander Hamilton, and I think everyone should give all 46 songs a listen to try learning something.

I thought it was gonna be ok... I was so wrong. Best soundtrack ever!!!! Not joking!!

Great cast recording- I love the eclectic mix of styles and the overall feel of the music. However, I felt that several of the songs were bordering on Schoolhouse Rock in terms of singing about history. Often, there was too much information in the songs. But a few songs (The Story of Tonight, Quiet Uptown, Burn) dove deeper into the characters' feelings rather than just summarizing our history textbooks and they were spectacular.

AND I HAVENT EVEN SEEN IT. I LITERALLY CRY EVERYTIME KNOWING I CANT SEE THE ORIGINAL CAST IN NEW YORK. I LISTEN TO IT EVERYDAY AND BASICALLY KNOW EVERY SECRET AND THOUGHT OUT EVERY SONG. THE INTENSITY IN EACH SONG IS UNBELIEVABLE.

And it will no doubt be a game changer that will shape how people enjoy and share musical theater. There are not enough stars to illustrate how much I love this cast recording. As someone who may never be able to see this show live, it is incredibly lucky that this recording features 90%+ dialog of the show meaning that anyone who listens to this will be able to understand the entire story. I have not been able to stop listening to this album since I first heard it three weeks ago and anticipate many more listen throughs. Lin-Manuel Miranda is an absolute genius and I would recommend this album to anyone who enjoys hip-hop or not, loves history or not, or loves musical theater or not.

I admit, I had major doubts and reservations about this whole concept when I first heard about it. I majored in history, and the Revolution and Early Republic are my focus. I have immense respect for this time period and I don't like to see history subverted to fill a pop culture niche. I am also a major fan of musical theatre, and I participate both as a viewer and actor. I love Sherman Edward's and Peter Stone's 1776, and when I heard there was going to be a musical about Hamilton, one of my absolute favorite historical figures (trust me, I named my son, Hamilton, after this man), I was very excited.

All this said, I am absolutely not a fan of hip-hop/rap and most modern R&B. I feel that the vast majority is derivative, unimaginative, and adds nothing to the musical landscape. As such, I was beyond disappointed and a little upset that the time period I love so much was going to be tarnished with a "Whassup, homie?" approach.

But I gave it a listen anyway.

I stand amazed and utterly impressed by what Lin-Manuel Miranda has done with this. Not only did I (quite unexpectedly) enjoy the music, but I was relieved and thrilled to discover that Miranda treated the source material with respect and knew what he was talking about. Yes, there are of course historical inaccuracies, but nowhere near as many as in 1776, and the few that are there are standard artistic license, totally forgivable. The music is melodic and catchy, and filled with all the dramatic highs and emotional lows that you find in the best-written Broadway fare.

If you are like I was, a non-hip-hop fan staring at the album wondering if it's worth your time, please listen as you would any other musical. Unless you are completely closed off to modern musicals, you will find something, probably many things, to like here. And this is from someone who went into the album expecting to hate it.

A great new addition to the American musical theatre family.

I was looking forward to the soundtrack after hearing all the good things folks had to say about the musical, but it’s far beyond my expectations. Exceptionally good, both as a story, as a collection of songs, as a coherent experience. It makes the early days of the US fresh and vibrant, bringing an entirely new perspective. Wow. Now I must find a way to go see the show.

I wish I had infinite money to buy all the merchandise

To be clear it's not a strict rap album, but a mix of "hip hop" and other genres including theater which are hauntingly beautiful. I did not fully appreciate just how good the music was when I saw the show which was almost overwhelming with energy. Listening to the soundtrack over and over helped me appreciate the many levels of the music. Unfortunately not every song is a masterpiece, but most are pretty close

I've never before encountered a musical that caused so much hype in the general public, people who aren't even interested in theatre. I've also never encountered a musical so deserving of that hype. At a time when most Broadway shows sound the same, this cuts through the haze and creates an impressive legacy. Go ahead, give Hamilton all of the Tonys, and a few Grammys as well.

I think it just might be. And this recording has the energy and tone of the most popular rap/hip-hop albums of our time. This show is transcendent and this recording stands on its own. You can tell LMM grew up with a deep and profound love of this art form in the clear love and care he gave to this recording. I can see him as a kid in his bedroom or on the subway internally jamming to Les Miserables with Colm Wilkinson and wondering how in the hell he could find anyone in his peer group that could accept that he was listening to that AND A Tribe Called Quest, and still accept him as an equal, and quite frankly, future artistic genius. Like the man he wrote and plays on Broadway, LMM is a tireless worker with endless creativity attempting to achieve something greater than himself. With this piece, he succeeds and then some. Hamilton died too young but left a lasting legacy. LMM will far out-live Hamilton, but his work will be just as immortal. Congrats, LMM. You did it.

This arguably the best musical of this decade

In complete awe of the creativity of Lin-Manuel Miranda and the talent of the cast. One of the most inventive shows I’ve seen.

I was lucky enough to see this masterpiece in person, so buying this album I assumed it wouldn't be nearly as amazing watching the show. But listening to it now I know that no matter where or when or how I'm listening to Hamilton, it will always be the most incredible thing I've ever heard!

Lin-Manuel Miranda has created this masterpiece which I've been fortunate to see twice. This score is full of all types of music, take a good listen to The Schuyler Sisters, Helpless and Satisfied. Can we just give him the Pulitzer now? By all means listen to this score, the more times you listen to it, the more you realize how brilliant it is.

but the world does not deserve Lin-Manuel.

Now that that declaration is out of the way...I went into listening to this album somewhat hesitant. I'm very familiar with Lin's work and I've adored everything he's had a hand in, but Hamilton has been so hyped up since its run at the Public Theater, I worried if maybe I wouldn't see in the show what everyone else did.

Which I now know was an unnecessary stress.

Because Hamilton is, hands down, the most glorious thing I've ever had the privilege to hear. And it is a privilege. A huge one. You might even say I'm completely "Satisfied"!

So congrats to the cast and crew on delivering THE greatest album of 2015, and especially to Lin for masterminding this masterpiece to begin with. I hope everything you've ever wanted falls at your feet because you deserve nothing less. Cheers!

In forty-six tracks Hamilton told the story of people who lived and died and loved and hated, but who’ve been gone for hundreds of years. But now for forty-six tracks they’re alive again, they’re human, they’re more than just names in the history books - if they were even granted space in the history books. Lin-Manuel Miranda breathed life into a man who’s story has been reduced to a dual and a dollar. As a student of history I’ve spent years learning and understanding the importance of how the story is told. A professor once told me that what is left out is just as important as what’s left in, and in forty-six tracks I was reminded how right he was.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius. This album is unbelievable.

When I first caught wind of a new Broadway show described as a modern, hip-hop take on our founding fathers... I was skeptical; I couldn't imagine how such a thing could be pulled off. All I can say is...wow. I scored a ticket to see Hamilton 2 weeks ago and I've been obsessed with the real-life story, the characters, and the soundtrack ever since (thank you, NPR!). Lin Manuel Miranda is a hugely talented genius and the rest of the cast is uniformly excellent. The songs are densely-packed lyrically and amazingly catchy musically. What a cool way to teach us all a little bit of our own history!

If you don't think you like musicals, listen to Hamilton. If you think American history can be boring, listen to Hamilton. If you don't think you like hip hop, listen to Hamilton. Grab some headphones and sit in a comfy chair and listen to this album front to back for one of the single greatest artistic achievements of the last hundred years.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has actually written a masterpiece. Everything about this entire score is marvelous. From the fast-paced hip hop, to Jonathan Groff singing a pop-ballad breakup song with the 13 colonies, it is all perfect. This will go down in history as one of the greatest musicals ever written. History is happening in the greatest city in the world.

In the show, Hamilton asks Angelica where she's taking him, and she replies, "I'm about to change your life." Hamilton says, "By all means, lead the way." I feel like we could be asking the same of Lin-Manuel Miranda, for if you love theater, he's about to change your life - with this masterpiece leading the way. It's easily the best thing I've ever seen, and I can't say that lightly. By this album. "History is happening...."

I don't care that you haven't seen the show, don't like musical theatre. Just. Buy. It.

This show is a so unique and if you don't buy this album your crazy not too!! It has the best ensemble( Betsy&Thayne especially) on Broadway and the swings are amazing!! I saw the Broadway show last Thursday Aug 13th and I can't stop thinking about it. Quite simply it is pure genuis and so is Lin Manuel Miranda. I pre-ordered this album the next morning Fri. August 14th.

I can't wait for the Sept. 25th release. Every day I keep hoping they will advance release a few songs.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has written a total game-changer with Hamilton. I saw the how twice. Once Off-Broadway at the Public and again on Broadway in the Rodgers. Not only did it improve upon transfer, but it excels even better on a bigger stage in front of a bigger, more responsive house. This album contains hip-hop, rap, R&B, british pop, and even musical theatre styles, blending all of these into one large immersive experience that is massive in scope, yet intimate and moving at the same time. This is going to be the musical of our century, folks.

Lin Manuel Miranda has created a masterwork with the emotion of Les Mis and the intelligent complexity of Sondheim, and the propulsive energy of hip-hop.

Since seeing the show in May, the wait for this album has been a daily frustration.
